Moderator Emeritus Fresh Posted March 26, 2016 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted March 26, 2016 Hi Faithhope , welcome to the site. We suggest holding for 4 to 6 weeks after a decrease. Hopefully by then all withdrawal symptoms will have resolved , and your cns will have had an opportunity to recover. Some people find after a drop of 10% the w/d symptoms are too disruptive , and they prefer to do smaller cuts a little more often. Faithhope
Ty very much, I will read the articles that you have suggested. I was wondering if you have heard of the book, Gut and Psychology Syndrome a natural treatment for Depression by Dr Natasha Campbell-McBride aka the GAPS diet? Faithhope
Ty, so this may be a dumb question, but once we decide to taper off, do we just live with our depression and anxiety, or do we do it in concert with the gaps diet and heal the gut and brain? If the gaps diet takes 2 years, should I start that first and then taper off a year later? Attempted suicide three times at the age of 11. Paxil for 15 years, never tried to ween myself before. Moderator Emeritus Fresh Posted March 27, 2016 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted March 27, 2016 Not at all Faithhope , you can start to taper at the same time as making changes to your diet and stress management. There are lots of non-drug methods of dealing with depression , you need to try different things and see what's a good fit for you. Try looking through the Symptoms and Self Care forum here Symptoms and self-care Please could you have a go at filling in your signature with your drug history , so readers can see it each time you post.
