ohnoes Posted August 23, 2022 Posted August 23, 2022 (edited) I quitted Effexor last year december with few months of tapering, after taking my last dose, it was just hell, i developed from qutting Effexor things like Insomnia, tinnitus, /pssd (post ssri sexual dysfuction) many cognitive problems, blurry sight, fatigue, anxiety, ocd, depression. I suffered from depression and anxiety and some ocd before taking Effexor, all the rest i developed since quitting it last year december. I cant move on like this, and its a wonder that im still alive, if i knew that all this would happen, i would never quit the medication in the first place, i hoped that it gets better over the time, and the only thing that got slightly better was the insomnia but i still have a crappy sleep. Im exhausted, its to much, and im thinking about reinstating to solve these problems, does anyone can give me an advice or has exp with something similar? Are the chances good that those symptoms i developed fro m quitting Effexor resolve themselfs when i go back on it? Compared to know i was doing "okay" while i was on the medication, i wanted to stop taking them bcuz i felt like an pill addict, and hoped everything would get better if i come off them, but it all got worse sadly I took Effexor for like 10/11 Years in combination with Opipramol (TCA) quitted both, but i developed all the symptoms from quitting Effexor Edited August 23, 2022 by ChessieCat removed black background
Administrator Altostrata Posted August 25, 2022 Administrator Posted August 25, 2022 Welcome, @ohnoes Yes, you developed severe withdrawal syndrome from going off Effexor in December and it's likely you have protracted withdrawal syndrome now. We have seen people do better with reinstating a very low partial dose of the drug, stabilizing, then tapering off by tiny amounts later. How much Effexor were you taking?
