Egk1 Posted October 22, 2022 Posted October 22, 2022 Over the summer, after more than 10 years of Pristiq at 50mg, my psych doc suggested a change to Sertraline. Even with a dose of 150mg of Sertraline, and tapering (I thought) slowly down to 6.25mg of Pristiq. I then stopped completely for a week and had a return of anxiety. Has anyone else had difficulty at this low of a dose of Pristiq, even with the addition of an SSRI? Or does the fact that Pristiq is an SNRI mean the discontinuation is different? 150mg Sertraline - titration up since June 2022 6.25mg Pristiq - weaning from 50mg since July 2022 .5mg Clonazepam 3X times daily
Egk1 Posted October 22, 2022 Author Posted October 22, 2022 (edited) Pristiq taper Hi - I’m new here. Started tapering from 50 mg of pristiq while starting Zoloft. I’m down to 6.25 mg of Pristiq. Any advice on tapering the last part would be so helpful. I’ve called 2 compounding pharmacies in town and they don’t do pills. Plus I understand Pristiq has a problem with cutting or crushing- but the cut to 6.25mg has gone ok. Are you here to come off both of these antidepressants or are you planning on crossing over to Zoloft to continue treatment? Please note we're a site for coming off psychiatric drugs.
