Nithin13
I’m on Prozac right now 20 mg I’ve been on for 2 weeks as part of trying reinstatement, I’m tapering off now, but I’m also on a vitamin b supplement and vitamin d, I would like to get off both. I’ve been on them for a month, should I taper those supplements while tapering Prozac, taper after, or just cut the supplements cold turkey If you are currently tapering an ssri and also taking a supplement should you wait to get off the ssri then taper the supplement, taper the supplement while tapering the ssri, or cut the supplement cold turkey? Administrator Altostrata Posted February 3, 2023 Administrator Share Posted February 3, 2023 Welcome, @Nithin13 Please see the Symptoms and Self-Care forum for information about specific supplements. You can just stop vitamin B and vitamin D supplements. Nithin13
I need to ask as well, so I was on fluoxetine 60 mg for three years then cold turkey’d then five months later reinstated 20 mg fluoxetine and have been on for 2 weeks how do I taper off the 20 mg, fast or slow, and how slow / how fast. I ask because I know normally you want to do a slow taper, but since reinstating can be harmful, do I do a faster taper in this scenario since it’s a reinstatement? Link to comment

Moderator Emeritus Gridley Posted March 6, 2023 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted March 6, 2023 (edited) @Nithin13 I'm answering your question regarding a colonoscopy and anesthesia that you posted in the Symptoms & Self-Care forum. Please make all your posts about your situation here in your Introduction topic rather than starting a new topic in another forum. That way, all your posts will be in the same place. Regarding the colonoscopy and anesthesia, yes, anesthesia could be a stress on the system while you're in withdrawal, but if you need to have the procedure, there's really no way around it. We're all different, but for what it's worth I recently had a colonoscopy with no ill effects. Edited March 6, 2023 by Gridley Gridley Introduction Lexapro 20 mg since 2004. Nithin13
My mistake I didn't know, I don't need the colonoscopy so I think I'll refuse. It's just to be safe because I had an issue with blood in the stool but it hasn't happened in a while plus when it did it was bright red and small so probably a fissure. Thanks for letting me know Link to comment
