Lilsmom Posted February 6, 2023 Posted February 6, 2023 Hello there-- I want to taper off of Lyrica. I know it won't be easy, but with this gradual taper plan, I'm hopeful this will make it easier. I'm planning to have a compounding pharmacy help. I need to get a plan to my doctor and then have him call it into the pharmacy. I've put together a spreadsheet (see link below). I'm amazed at how long this will take. Does this look right? I take a dose in the AM and one in the PM, so I haven't accounted for the split dose. At what point do I stop, as it will take forever actually to hit zero? Anything else I need to know? Here's the spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1KpIU4M4U4TNU53e2FqUfIQN2JEoAvrWSCYwot94amoA/edit?usp=sharing Thanks!
Administrator Altostrata Posted February 9, 2023 Administrator Posted February 9, 2023 Welcome, @Lilsmom Your spreadsheet cannot be viewed because permission needs to be set to "anyone with the link". Working with a compounding pharmacy is the right idea. It can indeed take months to go off Lyrica or another psychiatric drug. We recommend an initial 10% decrease, observe for a month and see how you tolerate this. See Why taper by 10% of my dosage? Tips for tapering off pregabalin (Lyrica) You'll be well under 1mg before you stop. You'll understand your withdrawal symptom pattern by then and you'll be able to gauge your risk of withdrawal symptoms from that last decrease. In other words, it will be up to you.
