I am glad that I am here. I am able to get some answers. I was fast tapered from buspar and then CT by the ER doctor. I have been going through withdrawals since last week in December. I am still dealing with either nervousness or cortisol surges in the morning, light sensitivity, blurriness, and some doubtful thinking. I am just worried that these things are permanent. How can these things keep lingering for this long? Was thinking about taking magnesium glycinate however I am unsure if this will set me back with healing.

Hey everyone I'm here for support for buspar withdrawal. 5mg 3x per day. Doctor fast tapered me dropping 2.5 every 3-4 days and then an ER doctor CT'd me at 5mg. Been in withdrawals since December. Hoping that all of this is coming to an end soon. This has been on heck of a ride. All stories and encouragement would be 😃 great.

I'm sorry you're going through it! I did a CT of Buspar once and lost my dang mind. To get off of it, I had to taper super duper slowly. Glad you're here, and that your symptoms are getting better over time!

@littlebirdHey thank you for sharing. How long did it take you to feel normal again?

CT was a nightmare, I had to eventually reinstate. With the slow taper, I was ok afterwards. It gets a bit foggy as not too long after tapering Buspar, Gabapentin (which is another anxiety med) started affecting my pancreas and I had to drastically lower the dose, so it's hard to tell what was body recovering from being off Buspar and what was withdrawal from Gabapentin. It absolutely evened out, though.

It looks like you were on a much higher dose of Buspar than I was, now that I look at your signature. No wonder you're feeling this so strongly! The fact that you're feeling better over time is a good sign that your body is figuring things out! You're directionally correct.

A lot of this med journey for me so far involves getting serious about self-soothing, and having patience for my body needing time to recover. Easier said than done!

That's good to hear. You had severe acute withdrawal. What symptoms are lingering?

The only things that are lingering are light sensitivity, blurriness, slight nervousness, slight tingling and burning, a little weird head feeling but very slight for all.

Your improvement is a good sign, but your system is still very sensitive. Please treat it gently and let it recover.

Many people find these to be helpful:

Magnesium, nature's calcium channel blocker

Omega-3 fatty acids (fish oil)

You might try a low dose of one at a time to see what it does for you.

We don't know what caused it. It will very, very gradually fade. Have you tried this:

@Altostrata Hey Hope all is well. I wanted to reach out and give a update. I am doing fairly well. The only symptoms that I am having now is vision, slightly weird feeling in head and memory. Other than that I function pretty normal daily.  Hopefully these things will go away. What are your thoughts? I take fish oil at night and I have been on birth control for years and never had any issues. Doctor has stopped me from taking my 2.5mg  blood pressure med due to it being normal level now. Have you had any of these problems when going through withdrawals?
