burningbright: Mirtazapine Taper

Hi all, 38 year old father of 2 here. Been on psych drugs since 2000 starting with Paxil. Have been on and off them for years. Seroquel did a number on me as I was taken off it abruptly. Ended up in the hospital, didn't sleep for a week, and had severe akathisia. Mistakenly a moth or so after, I went with my doctors advice and started Mirtazapine mostly because I wasn't sleeping because of the quick stopping of Seroquel. It worked and I felt pretty good for a month. Since then I have had all the side effects. I quickly came to the conclusion that these meds are doing more harm than good so I started a taper, did it pretty rapidly and was feeling pretty good until I hit 3.75mg, then I stopped completely and all hell broke loose. I was off for about a week and a half but the anxiety, depression and histamine reaction was too much to bear so I reinstated at 1.88mg and leveled off in Sept 2021. I did a few small tapers using a homemade liquid and I am currently at 1.75mg but haven't made a change in about a year. I got a big promotion at work and am terrified to taper at all but I really want to get off of this.

Thank you. I will be sure to get on a computer to do this. I am feeling emotionless, have a hard time thinking as well as speaking clearly, constantly fatigued, and have gained quite a bit of weight.

What times o'clock do you take your drugs, with their dosages? Is the fatigue better or worse at particular times of day?

I take lamotrigine 25mg in the morning and then 25mg before bed. And the mirtazapine at 9pm. I'm usually fatigued all day. Sometimes I'll have a few days in a row that are better but it is usually short lived, when I wake up I usually can tell how my day is going to go.

I need to know when you started lamotrigine and when you started and went off the other drugs. Your signature would contain this information. Please get to it ASAP.

Please review adverse effects of each of your drugs at drugs.com
