I also went CT but only after taking amitriptolyne for 14 days.  I had 3 months of horrible withdrawl and have been now left (7 months later) with the worst anxiety.  I never had anxiety before this.  I think the anxiety actually is causing most of my symptoms now.  I'm sorry you are going through this, it's so hard but I have had to learn that the only thing that is going to make my anxiety better is to do a LOT of self help exercises.   I have been listening to The Anxiety Guy on you tube and I find him really good.  he does some great daily affirmations for health anxiety that really help.   I also throught I had fibro, i convinced myself I had MS and even brain tumours.  Had MRI's, CT scans, bloods 3 times.  It is all withdrawl.  I am still really anxious all the time but I really find listening to some afirmations and being kind to myself is starting to help.  I have managed to still work through it all (although i have an azaming boss who completly understands and gives me time when i need it).  Unfortuantely I am one of those people that has had a massive reaction to this sort of medication and all doctors want to do is put me on some sort of blocker to fix my issues.  Not going there anymore!  I hope your anxiety calms down soon, maybe try some daily mindfullness techneques.

Hi, @MichelleE

Welcome to Surviving Antidepressants.

Please note I moved your post off of AmberVox's thread so we can get your account approved and you'll be able to post freely on the site going forward. And those you are posting to will have a "home base," so to speak, to be able to return the favor by posting here on your thread to support you, as well.

Are you currently taking any supplements? We don't recommend a lot of supplements, as many members report their nervous systems are simply too fragile to handle them. However, magnesium and fish oil tend to be calming to the nervous system and many people report they do help. Please only add in one supplement at a time and at a small dose. For more, please see:

King of supplements: Omega-3 fatty acids (fish oil)

Magnesium, nature's calcium channel blocker

From the great non-drug coping skills you're already doing, it sounds like you are already on your way to healing, but feel free to post any questions you have about your recovery here.

@MichelleE

Hi. Thank you for sharing your story. I had a adverse reaction after 5 weeks of Zoloft. It's insane how a short use of the drugs can cause so much misery.

It's inspiring to read that your anxiety has gotten a little bit better. The anxiety guy sounds great, I will look home up!

Wishing you lots of healing in the near future.

September  2020 till December 2020

Fast taper.

No drugs for 2 years.

Had severe adverse reactions while taking Zoloft but wanted to push through with Klonopin.

Hi

wondering if anyone can help with some advice.  I stopped taking birth control in the acute stage of withdrawl.  I’m now 8 months into WD and my main WD symptoms are anxiety, fatigue and neck pressure.  I’m actually doing a lot better.  The worst is the anxiety as it makes me very dizzy and my breathing irregular.  I’m doing a lot of meditating, yoga and breath work.  However seeing I stopped taking birth control my periods are absolutely horrendous and I suffer very bad every month.  Brings on more WD symptoms and anxiety becomes unbearable.  Did anyone go back on birth control while in WD?  It would be progesterone only as I’m 44.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Oh and I don’t want to ask my dr as they didn’t believe me about WD and told me it was just anxiety and tried to put me on more meds.  Tried to google it but not really getting much info.

Hello, @MichelleE Please add updates and questions to this topic, your own Introductions topic.

We have observed that withdrawal symptoms often get worse around times in the menstrual cycle.

We're not gynecologists, so we can't tell you what hormone therapy or the pill would do for this. Those drugs have their own adverse effects.

Have you tried taking ibuprofen? That can be helpful for menstrual discomfort.

Thanks,

yes I take naproxen but it still doesn’t really give me much relief.   I was on the pill for years, the only reason I stopped it was because during WD I was advised to not take anything else at all.  I guess I’m just a bit scared to start it again as I was so ill with WD for many months I’m scared it will bring the symptoms back on.

Ibuprofen works slightly differently, take before pain starts.

What other symptoms do you have that you attribute to antidepressant withdrawal?
