Hello, everyone… It has been, certainly, a difficult few months. The first time I entered this page was two months after stopping clonazepam and vortioxetine, because despite the fact that the decrease was gradual, the most severe symptoms appeared three weeks after I stopped consuming them. From then until now it has been a battle, to which I do not see the end, this is what has led me to start interacting on this channel - and not just consult it - because today, more than others, I question my reasons for stopping take drugs, it would seem that this is not going to end. Until now, I have tried to understand my body, all the symptoms are adjustments to return to its balance ("without help")... but I can't stop wondering if it was the best decision to have stopped taking the drugs.

Without a doubt there are new things like the fact of experiencing life in a different way, I feel more "human" (which makes perfect sense because now I feel more than ever) the sensitivity that I have developed to get involved with everything, to all that isis around me, every expression of life, valuing all the abundance that I have and alway I has around me, the way I relate now, the way I perceive today, what I heard, what I see, feel...Im so grateful, but…

At first my motivation was simple, stop being medicated, point.., stop consuming pils (I have to say that today I use more than ever because of the supplements LOL),  later this motivation began to have a more altruistic and deeper meaning, however Although the motivation is still there, I don't stop doubting, Im tired!

I would love to be able to read what has been your motivation to star with the withdrawal/tapering and what makes you stay there, even when the symptoms could sometimes exceed us. I hope someone dares to tell me because I know that  will help me continue on the road, and maybe to someone else

I also have a big question, what has worked for you for muscle tension and stiffness, this is what has made me fill tired as well as digestive problems, because the intestine is very tense and therefore I do not have a good digestion. Anything, anything you could share with me I will be very grateful,

receive a big hug

Hi Mirna and welcome,

Thanks for your patience, and also for getting to your drug signature.

Are you off all your medications/drugs now or did I read that wrong?

Thanks for the hug.  My motivation was that I just seemed to keep getting sicker on the drug(s) and had hope that I could achieve a greater sense of well being without them.  It often felt like I was up against a wall, as far as doctors and psychiatrists went........and then even with my own loved ones, family, friends, etc.  So many just seemed to think the drug(s) were the way to go or wanted me to consider other options, like TMS, or ECT.........yet, as I studied up I could not agree or feel like those would help either, that the risks were just too great.  So.  Empowerment.  Learning more.  Trusting my own intuition and guidance from beyond.

We don't recommend a lot of supplements on SA, as many members report being sensitive to them due to our over-reactive nervous systems, but two supplements that we do recommend are magnesium and omega 3 (fish oil). Many people find these to be calming to the nervous system.  I've found the magnesium really helps with the muscle tension.

My digestion seemed to settle down quite a bit after the first year off.  I still stick with easy foods early in the day, mainly fruits and vegetables.  I often do a blender concoction of them for breakfast and seem to okay with a bit of greek yogurt thrown in too.

When we take medications, the CNS (central nervous system) responds by making changes over the months and years we take the drug(s). When the medication is discontinued, the CNS has to undo all the changes it made.  The CNS likes stability. Rebuilding the neurotransmitter production and reactivating the receptor and transporter cells takes time -- during that rebuilding process symptoms occur.

All for today.  Welcome again.  And oh, I love your non-drug supplement coping list of things you practice.

Hi @Mirna I was on Paxil for about seven years.  I weaned off because I gained about 20 pounds while using it, (a common side effect), and never really helped me.  Plus, it dulled my emotions.  Eventually, I realized I didn't want to spend a lifetime on a drug that wasn't working.   During my withdrawal and recovery, I learned several CBT practices that helped me deal with the thoughts and emotions I had while tapering.  One of the first things I had to learn is that thoughts and feelings only have the power we give them.  Sometimes they can be overwhelming and frightening, but they will pass.

I had tightness as well, and because of a couple of injuries in my younger day, I still have some pain and stiffness.  Besides some regular stretching exorcises, I sometimes do quiet meditation calm my mind and body.

Hello, hello!!! @manymoretodays @mstimc

Hi, im so happy to be in touch.

No, I still using lamotrigine, 125mg.

Thanks for the link on the supplements, magnesium is the ONE lol.  I've been taking glycinate,  it helps me to keep the body as "smoth" as possible, also  to sleep.  Now I know I can make oil too for the muscule tension.

Hearing and reading that some of you stop having stomach problems is a blessing to my ears.

At first I don't want to talk or tell anyone about these process because I don't want to be afraid of all the symptoms everyone talks about, every - body - are very different. Now I realize that we all have something in common,  the strength to get out of it, to not give our will.  Talking to you is a way of feeling accompanied,  I have the support of all my relatives, but in this type of situation it feels better if I am in contact with someone who is in the "same" way....

Thk  universe, nothing lasts forever, impermanence is something that I value a lot at this moment, when I feel bad I just say "everything pass away" until then "tray to stay calm"

What makes us stay on the pad and not return back??? In the end, I think we know that we can feel and be better, to be the best version of us..

We have to keep fighting (walking) until the "end"

Love and joy

Why are you taking 5-HTP, for how long have you been taking it, how much per day?

What kind of B vitamins do you take, what is the dosage?

Do you feel better or worse after each dose?

Hi, @Altostrata

Hi, for now, particularly this week, I've been feeling much better. We changed the vit  B complex, and I feel it, until today, that my body has assimilated it much better. The 5HTP, actually, I have  taken intermittently, usually at a dose of 200mg per day,

Between the mg recommendation in oil and the vit. b, the tension of the muscles has been reduced a bit, which has also promoted my mood to be much more optimistic...

I 've also been working on balancing the energy of my whole body, cause I've perceived that part of the problem is an energy imbalance

Big hugs for all!

We often see that people find B vitamin supplements activating in an uncomfortable way.

If you have not been taking 5-HTP each day, I would stop it and see if that makes any difference in how you feel.
