Good afternoon! I have taken paroxetine from 2008 to 2016. That year my mother died and my dose was raised from 20 mg to 40 mg. As it was not enough, he switched me to venlafaxine retard. I was lowering the dose and for about a year I was taking the lowest dose, 37.5 mg. 4 months ago I began to open the capsules and lower the dose. The capsule has 80 granules and the last dose I took was 10 granules (this lasted for about a month). I stopped taking the 10 granules 15 days ago and I am increasingly anxious, impatient, irascible... I don't want to go to the psychiatrist again because he tells me that this has nothing to do with antidepressant withdrawal (Argentina). Should I start taking it and reduce the dose of 10 granules? It sounds like you have withdrawal from going off venlafaxine too fast. If I were you, I'd immediately start taking the 10 beads per day. Wash down with a large glass of water. Please let us know how you're doing.

I kept lowering the dose. 4 months ago I started opening 37.5 capsules, lowering the quantity. 2 weeks ago I stopped taking (I stayed 15 days with 10 granules and stopped taking). I have anxiety, insomnia, anger, impatience, anguish. Awful!
Today Altostrata tell me that I should go back to 10 granules. I have read that there are people who should lower 1 or two granules per month. I use traductor. My english is not good.Thank you!

Good to hear reinstatement worked for you. You might stabilize for a month or so, then go off granule by granule later.

Stabilization will likely take a few more weeks or even a month or longer. It will slowly happen. What date did you start taking the 10 granules?

How has your symptom pattern changed since you increased to 15 beads? Please do not increase your dosage until you can see the full effect of what you're taking.

 

What is your sleep pattern? How much sleep do you get now compared to when you were taking 10 beads?
