Moderator Emeritus manymoretodays Posted September 22, 2023 Moderator Emeritus Posted September 22, 2023 (edited) Hi njonjo and welcome, How were you planning to taper the klonopin? We do go with a harm reduction taper explained here: Why taper by 10% of my dose? Can you tell us when and what you presently take right now? Note the time that you take each drug and dose. Then next to the time, note the name of the drug and your present dose. Just put that in a reply right here. Did you recently do a 50% taper of your klonopin? You might try and edit your signature to a list type format. That would make it so much less difficult to read. Love, peace, healing, and growth, manymoretodays(mmt) Hello,I was taking 1 mg of klonopin for 2 months every day before I start to reducing it,and as klonopin I have taking diazepam from 5mg to 15mg daily, when I started to take luvox 4 months ago I slowly reduce klonopin to 0.25 daily and tapered too quickly diazepam and stoped diazepam and start having problems, then go back to 0,5 klonopin daily and diazepam 2,5mg daily to stabilize,I am on that dose for a month and a half now, separated in doses and I am stable, started to taper klonopin a week and a half ago, micro taper with scale,0.001 every day or two,I started with 0.001mg daily but I have'd some simptoma so I slowed a little,,,,so now I'm on-Klonopin 0.25-1-0-1,,,,,,,luvox 0-0-1,,,,,diazepam 2,5 mg separated in two doses throw the day becouse 2.5 diazepam in one dose is kicking me hard, its funny but it is Like that 2008-2023-diazepam 5mg as needed becouse off back injury,3 herniated discs. 2012-2022-many AD's tried. 2022-JANUARY-started luvox 100mg and diazepam 5mg as needed. Moderator Emeritus manymoretodays Posted September 23, 2023 Moderator Emeritus Posted September 23, 2023 (edited) Hi njonjo, Okay thanks for more information. It's still a bit confusing the way you are presenting it. I read you are feeling stable now? Was that correct? That you are feeling pretty good? I will attempt to sort what you've posted out right here and then you can make any corrections, if needed. 2022 January 8- Luvox(was it started then?) 100 mg, and diazepam 5 mg as needed August 10- Zoloft (started at what dose if remembered, and was the Luvox discontinued?) diazepam 5 mg twice daily November - CT Zoloft December- klonopin 1 mg with diazepam 10 mg daily to 2023 May 2023 May- September 20th- Luvox 100 mg, tapering klonopin presently it's at 0.5 mg, diazepam 2.5 mg diazepam had been as high as 15 mg/day, and have tried to get off diazepam before too quickly, which resulted in remedication with both klonopin and diazepam Any drugs before January of 2022? On 9/21/2023 at 11:36 PM, njonjo said: and I am stable, started to taper klonopin a week and a half ago, micro taper with scale,0.001 every day or two,I started with 0.001mg daily but I have'd some simptoma so I slowed a little,,,,so now I'm on-Klonopin 0.25-1-0-1,,,,,,,luvox 0-0-1,,,,,diazepam 2,5 mg separated in two doses throw the day becouse 2.5 diazepam in one dose is kicking me hard, its funny but it is Like that And so it looks like you are tapering daily by .001 mg for the klonopin now. Can you clarify what this means: "so now I'm on-Klonopin 0.25-1-0-1,,,,,,,luvox 0-0-1,,,,,diazepam 2,5 mg separated in two doses" ? Easiest way to do this would be to: Note the date time: drug name, dose time: drug name, dose time: drug name, dose continue noting the times, and drugs for a 24 hour period That would be really helpful. Do try to stick with the same dose of each drug taken at the same time of day every day. That consistency can pay off in adding to stability. If there is too much jumping around in dose and/or different timings to when you take a drug that confuses the nervous system and can cause symptoms, either immediately or after awhile. diazepam has a long half life and sometimes changes made one day may not be felt until much later. I don't blame you for wanting to at least lower your benzo load now as it reads like it was quite high or a lot. Maybe once you've lowered your doses, or even eliminated one of the benzo's you'll want to begin to taper the Luvox. I can certainly bring in one of the more benzo savy mods to take a look too. And I'm glad to help overall and with the Luvox taper when that day comes. Glad to read you are HOLDING now. Daily tapering and also a linear taper(dropping by the same amount) every day may have caught up with you. Meaning you might have gone too fast with things. Again, we usually taper by a percentage drop from each previous dose. It also sounds like you might have got into trouble after your first CT taper from Luvox(if that was the case) or fast taper of diazepam, and then that was followed up with being overly medicated. Thanks for getting back to me, and all the information you have given. I'm just asking for a bit more today. Thanks in advance. We do also have a Benzo forum, which is available to members when signed in. Don't start a topic there, as it is not been staffed for that right now. But do have a look at some of the top pinned topics there. A lot of good information that you may have not seen yet. Benzo tapering and recovery Please continue to post right here, in a reply box. Moderator LotusRising Posted October 20, 2023 Moderator Posted October 20, 2023 Is there a reason you chose to start with a micro taper? Would it be easier to reduce monthly? If you have an increase in symptoms, holding and stabilizing is probably a good idea, as you said. 2003-2009 on and off various SSRI's for short periods 2010-2011 Ativan 2013-2021 ativan 1-1.5mg 10-12x/month 2016 - Effexor 75mg, short-term 2021 Mar -Jun Buspar ADR at high dose, tapered 3 months Oct 22/21 - Direct switch ativan to clonazepam (don't do this) Tapered clonaz Oct/21 - Apr/23 - 0mg!
