Hello,

I've been on antidepressants about 10 years. Started on citalopram but in the last year have switched to sertraline and now mirtazapine, after I started to notice sexual dysfunction issues.

I decided to ween off mirtazapine (15mg) over about a year.

I've been given the orodispersible pills after telling both my gp and pharmacist what I intended to do.

Mixing each 15mg tablet with 5ml water and then reducing 0.2ml every two weeks, it's going well. I'm currently on 4.2ml (12.6mg).

I'm aware that I'll need to slow down my reductions as I get lower but have noticed an issue already of the suspension not being evenly dispersed.

Shaking the suspension doesn't seem to keep it mixed very well so I'm wondering if I should be mixing it with something more viscous like sugar syrup? Any opinions gratefully received.

Welcome, @MisterTree

Good to hear your taper is going well. Well done keeping track of the math!

You're probably seeing filler in your homemade mirtazapine liquid. If this bothers you, you may wish to use Pharmacy liquids to make suspensions
