Peaches: Weaning off Lexapro

Peaches

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone… this is my first ever post. I’ve been on lexapro for 3 plus years and have been weaning for the last 6 plus months. I’ve been going very slowly using a liquid that I make and doing 10% drops. I am at 1.5 mg bows but everytime I do a drop I get horrible insomnia. I just started a new job and am afraid to drop anymore due to insomnia and have been holding where I’m at. Does anyone else go through this? Are there any natural remedies that can help? Is this normal? Or will I always have insomnia if I get off.

Hi Peaches,

Welcome to SA. Please summarize your drug history in your signature by following the instructions at How to Summarize Your Drug History in Your Signature. You may need to be on a computer to complete this.

For some of our members, 10% drops are too large and they need to try smaller cuts such as 5% or The Brassmonkey Slide Method of Micro-tapering

You can check out our thread on sleeping tips at Tips to help sleep: so many of us have that awful withdrawal insomnia but it sounds like you might benefit from smaller drops.

Thanks,

Firefly
