Sabie
Hi, is there someone I can message or speak to who can help me with a tapering schedule and who can try help me figure out what's going on with me? Edited November 3, 2023 by FireflyFyte Updated title I started feeling depressed at 16 and was put onto antidepressants at 18. They never worked for me so the psychiatrists kept changing them but never tapered me off the previous ones. 6 years after being on antidepressants I formed anxiety and ocd. They said it's my mental illness getting worse. My depression just got worse and worse as the years went by. I've been in and out of so many psychiatric hospitals. I had ECT at age 28. A few years ago they said I also have borderline personality disorder. They also said they think I have treatment resistant depression cos none of the pills are working. And last year they said I also have adhd. This year march my psychiatrist said maybe I have bipolar 2 and that's why none of the other pills are working. At the time I was on 50mg trazadone, 300mg wellbutrin and 60mg cymbalta. She took me off the trazodone and halved the cymbalta and wellbutrin overnight and put me on 50mg Seroquel. After 3 days she increased the seroquel to 300mg. I was sooo sick I went back to her 2 weeks later and said I can't take this seroquel. She said okay I don't think u actually have bipolar, let's go down on the seroquel by 100mg weekly and then stay on 50mg because if you have borderline personality disorder it will help for that. I took myself straight off the seroquel without tapering because it was making me so sick and I had only been on it for 2.5 weeks. I started tapering in June. Tapered my 60mg by 10% in June. Tapered again by 5% in august and again 5% on 25 october. The medications I am on now is: 50mg trazedone, 150mg bupropion, 60mg (minus what Ive tapered) cymbalta. Please help me with a tapering schedule, Im really not doing well Link to comment

Could you update your signature to be more concise? It is difficult to understand your history in it's current format. 2 hours ago, Sabie said: Could you please help me with a tapering plan? I have already started tapering Cymb*lta We recommend tapering only one drug at a time and dropping no more than 10% per month of the previous dose per month. You can learn more about why at Why taper by 10% of my dosage? You can read about tapering Cymbalta specifically at Tips for tapering off duloxetine (Cymbalta). How have you tapered thus far? Sabie
Thank you very much. I was feeling a bit better until I went to a psychiatrist 6 weeks ago and he made drastic changes which totally destabilized me, I think Im starting to stabilize again now. But even before my taper I was not doing well, so its hard to say if its from the taper or if med side effects or PAWS from any one of the many drugs that were stopped rapidly in the past I started feeling depressed at 16 and was put onto antidepressants at 18. They never worked for me so the psychiatrists kept changing them but never tapered me off the previous ones. 6 years after being on antidepressants I formed anxiety and ocd. I would hold for awhile longer to continue stabilizing before dropping your Cymbalta down any further. A hold for at least a month would be advised especially after several, drastic changes.
