Pineapples Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 Hello, I am looking for advice. I am experiencing increased anxiety, nausea and mental fatigue/zero motivation. I decided to quit my job because it was very hard to keep up with day to day tasks and the stress seems to make it a lot worse. I stopped sertraline early this August after being on it only about a month and did a taper in only around 5 days. After stopping I noticed I was tired a lot, so I tried to use caffeine to help with this but was unaware that this seemed to be triggering my nausea to a large degree. I no longer drink any caffeine. I then replaced this with rhodiola rosea, which seemed to give me energy but I still felt mentally fatigued/slow. The worst part for me seems to be not being able to focus/think clearly. I have always been very anxious around people, but when left alone I feel I am usually fairly intelligent and seem to have based a fair bit of my self worth off of this. I also tried reintroducing about 2mg of sertraline after about 2 months after discontinuation but stopped after like 5 days because I wasn’t feeling much different and was stressed out which I realize was not very smart. I have since (~4 days ago) started 25mg of fluvoxamine and was planning to titrate up to 50mg. I haven’t noticed much difference in side effects. I realize this will probably be advised against on this forum, but why would stabilizing at a specific dose be different than trying to stabilize at 0 or a very small dose? I also wanted to mention that I tried low daily doses of prescribed ketamine through one of the online clinics for a couple of weeks about 3 weeks after discontinuation. I do not see how to adjust my signature as I am on mobile but wanted to get this post out so here is my rough timeline meds. 2021 Bupropion XL ~4 weeks 150mg 2023 (June-July) Buspirone ~5 weeks idk dosage 2023 (June-July) Bupropion XL ~1 week 150mg 2023 (July-August) Sertraline ~4 weeks 50mg 2023 (November 1-current) Fluvoxamine 25mg -plan to increase to 50mg sorry if this is very rambly 2021 Bupropion XL ~4 weeks 150mg 2023 (March-May) Vyvanse ~2 months 30 mg 2023 (June-July) Buspirone ~5 weeks idk dosage 2023 (June) Bupropion XL ~1 week 150mg 2023 (July-August) Sertraline ~4 weeks 50mg Note: tried reintroducing ~2 mg of sertraline for about a week roughly 1.5 months after experiencing withdrawal 2023 (Late august-September) Therapeutic prescribed ketamine ~2 weeks 2023 (November 1-7) Fluvoxamine ~6 days 25mg
Moderator Emeritus Onmyway Posted November 8, 2023 Moderator Emeritus Posted November 8, 2023 (edited) Hi @Pineapples, welcome to SA. We are a site for going off drugs - we help people taper their medication doses properly so they don't suffer withdrawal effects. We do not offer advice on what drugs to take or how to deal with their side effects. That should be discussed with your doctor. If and when you decide to come off of your drugs, please come back and we will help you do that with the least amount of harm. Good luck with everything, OMW Edited November 8, 2023 by Onmyway "Nothing so small as a moment is insurmountable, and moments are all that we have. Pineapples Posted November 8, 2023 Author Posted November 8, 2023 After doing some thinking I decided it’s best to bite the bullet and stop now. After 6 days I wouldn’t have to taper, correct? 2021 Bupropion XL ~4 weeks 150mg 2023 (March-May) Vyvanse ~2 months 30 mg 2023 (June-July) Buspirone ~5 weeks idk dosage 2023 (June) Bupropion XL ~1 week 150mg 2023 (July-August) Sertraline ~4 weeks 50mg Note: tried reintroducing ~2 mg of sertraline for about a week roughly 1.5 months after experiencing withdrawal 2023 (Late august-September) Therapeutic prescribed ketamine ~2 weeks 2023 (November 1-7) Fluvoxamine ~6 days 25mg
Moderator Emeritus Onmyway Posted November 9, 2023 Moderator Emeritus Posted November 9, 2023 Hi @Pineapples You can just stop after 6 days or you could take half for a day and then stop. You might have a few difficult days come up but hopefully not too many. You might want to avoid any psychoactive substances - especially alcohol to not make things worse. To improve focus, have you tried meditating? There are "courses" in various apps where you can get started slowly and with guidance.
