unawils: 4 Years on Esciprex starting the weaning in two days

Hi All, 

 

I started on Esciprex generic form of Lexapro in May 2020. After I had post natal anxiety. I really wish I never went on them, it was my hormones and Tyroid that was out of balance, I didn't know all I know now back then.

 

I tried to come off in 2021 the doctor gave me a plan to take 20mg one day and 10mg the next day..

 

I had bad symptoms , I had to back to normal dose.

 

Now im starting again this time doctor gave me the same plan.

 

I said I wanted to go from 20 to 17.5 for the 1st month. 

 

Is it okay for a 5mg tab to be cut in half as that don't do the tablets In 2.5mg 

 

Any advise would be appreciated,  the doctors don't seem to know much about weaning off

Your first task is to create a drug signature, with the following:

 

• All current medication you take, the dose you take, when you started the drug, and when you made dose changes
• All current supplements you take
• An accurate history of recent drugs, taken in the last 12-24 months
• Dates for recent should be written as 7 Oct 2023, or Oct 7 2023, or early Oct 2023, or mid Oct 2023
• A history of drugs taken 24 months ago and beyond - if applicable
• Dates for historical drugs can simply be listed as start and stop years
• Please do not use 07/10/23 // 10/07/23 as this is intepreted differently around the world

 

• Please leave out symptoms and diagnoses.
