RAINMAN2
Quote INTRO HI from the UK. Feedback invited - "VENLAFAXINE" 75mg XR, (aka "EFFEXOR") - Severe toxic reactions being experienced , long after my Titration was finished. 1. ISSUES - SEVERE ONGOING, ALLERGIC (TOXIC) REACTIONS BEING EXPERIENCED , EVEN AFTER A 4 YEAR, SLOW TITRATION OFF PERIOD. REQUEST FOR FORUM MEMBERS EVIDENCE OF SIMILAR - LEGACY , POST TITRATION, WITH SIMILAR SITUATIONS EXPERIENCED AND EVIDENCE OF RECOVERY. INCLUDING EXPERIENCED TIMELINES FOR RECOVERY. 2. MY QUESTION APPLIES TO PAST VENLAFAXINE AND EFFEXOR USERS , WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THESE TYPES OF LONG LASTING / LEGACY REACTIONS, EVEN AFTER A VERY SLOW TITRATION OFF. 3. MY PROBLEMS ARE - SHORT TERM MEMORY LOSS , SLOW COGNITION, EXTREME TIREDNESS, TIGHT CHEST, MORNING ( PRE - WAKING) HALLUCINATIONS, NIGHT SWEATS, RASHES, LEG WEAKNESS & NUMBNESS (NERVOUS SYSTEMS OUT OF WHACK), SWOLLEN LOWER LIPS ON WAKING = EVERY DAY, (WHICH LATER GOES DOWN TO NORMAL) , SPOTS ON HEAD, EXTREME DRY MOUTH OVERNIGHT, SENSITIVITY TO BRIGHT SUNLIGHT, WEIGHT GAIN. 4. Anti Depressant History. a. Late 2016, prescribed 4 different types of AD, including (UK AD names), Risperidone, Quitiapine, Mirtazapine. Only 2x Pills of each, brought on immediate onset paranoia & eye sight problems . b. Next, I experienced a total aversion to ALL Artificial light. As a result of this AD allergic reaction was Hospitalised. There given *VENLAFAXINE 75MG XR. On *this dose from April 2017 to October 2018. c. I *Titrated off, very slowly, with Dr & Pharmacist help , from October 2018 to October 2022. d. Fairly quick titration down to **37.5 MG VENLAFAXINE XR , then diluted Beads from a ** 37.5 MG XR CAPSULE , 3 beads to 2 ,then to 1, over 3 years. By diluting **Beads in water and dropping down at 5ml steps , (by syringing), in a ml graded pot. 5. ISSUES NOW. After finishing titration in November 2022, I am still getting now, (in August 2024), all the allergic / toxic legacy effects that I list at para 1, above. 6. CAN SURVIVING ANTI - DEPRESSANTS MEMBERS COMMENT IF THEY HAVE HAD ANY EXPERIENCE OF SUCH LONG LASTING , SEVERE ALLERGIC / TOXIC REACTIONS = AFTER such SLOW TITRATION AND SAY HOW LONG THEIR RECOVERY TOOK. MANY THANKS . End Nov 2016 to end Dec 2016- Doctor prescribed successive antidepressants for autistic meltdowns and anxiety (UK names): Mirtazapine then Risperidone and then Quietiapine. Only 2 tablets of each, at low doses, resulted in immediate onset of paranoia and severe eyesight issues with each individual tablet type. April 2017 - Hospitalized due to a total aversion/recoil to any artificial light source. Had to go to bed at sunset due to the allergic/toxic effects. When in hospital, prescribed Venlafaxine/Effexor 75mg XR. April 2017 to Oct 2018- On 75mg Venlafaxine/Effexor XR. Oct 2018 to Oct 2019- Titrated off. Reduced to 37.5mg XR by Oct '19. Oct 2019 to Oct 2022 - Titrated off. Going progressively from 3 beads 37.5mg capsule to 0. Diluting in water down at steps to 5mg. Link to comment
