LaIslaBonita
Hello everyone, I was recently prescribed 10mg Citalopram for my health anxiety about two weeks ago on the 13/09/24 and a few days after taking it I had indegestion and chest pain. I travelled to Barcelona on the 16/09/24 and my side effects seemed to just get worse I had a dry mouth, insomina and I felt very unbalanced when walking. This sent me into a spiral and I had to leave my holiday early. Since coming home on the 18/09/24 my sleeping has improved and so have my balance issues. However, I am now suffering with a tingling sensation all across my body and joint and muscle pain in the hands and legs. I have been to A&E (ED) and spoke to doctors a couple times and they said to stick with it as it could be to do with the medication. I have since gone cold turkey on the 27/09/24 after speaking to my doctor and discussing how it was making me feel and he was very helpful. My pain and tingling isn't noticeable when moving and exercising as well as when I am in the bath. I have noticed in the past when smoking weed my body reacts weird to that. I was wondering if it is normal to have an adverse reaction like this and any advice that I could get would be much appreciated. I didn't like how the medicine was making me feel mentally and physically, I felt not myself and numb, thus decided that I will battle my health anxiety through other means rather than medicine. Thank you for any advice given, it has been a tough couple weeks! Link to comment

If it were me, I would accept this as a sign that antidepressants don't agree me, and never try another one. There are a number of resources on the site, if you're looking for coping skills.
