AmitV Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 Every bit of research I’ve done into this condition is well described by this psychiatrist in the below video. It explains how allostatic load, cortisol, noradrenaline is effected in withdrawls. It’s a long video but a good watch. It also explains worsening withdrawals from re-instatements which happens in some people. One of the best explanations I’ve come so far along with some treatment options towards the end of the video. https://youtu.be/mDAvvcm4hJw?si=lGrmHAGmJLfKUPPr 1 Jan 1-15 2023 - Ativan 2mg Jan 1-12 2023 - Trintellix 10mg Jan 14-16 2023 - Escitalopram 5mg Jan 15-Jan 20 2023 - Ativan 1mg Jan 21-30 2023 - Ativan 0.5mg Slow taper down - 5 days 0.5mg once a day. Administrator Altostrata Posted October 10, 2024 Administrator Posted October 10, 2024 Sorry, Dr. Sanil Rege making a lot of stuff up, sounding very sciencey as they do. Please taper. Moderator Jane318 Posted October 10, 2024 Moderator Posted October 10, 2024 now that I finished watching this - seeing that at the end he is stating slow tapering can be the wrong solution in some instances - certainly muddies the water. But his alternative is more drugs. NOT! I am not a doctor. My comments are based on my personal experience with ADs and tapering. Consult your doctor about your own medical decisions.
