barbatna Posted October 10, 2024 Posted October 10, 2024 Hello! I'm new to this site, but I'm really grateful to have found it. Right now, I'm dealing with what I think are withdrawal symptoms after taking Prozac as a bridge while coming off Cymbalta. My main issues are dizziness when I move my head or eyes, brain zaps (especially at night), and anxiety. I was on Cymbalta for six months, starting at 10mg, increasing to 20mg, and then up to 30mg for a short period. I eventually returned to 20mg and remained on that dose for about 4-5 months. Unsatisfied with the side effects, I switched to Trintellix. My doctor had me take 10mg of Cymbalta alongside Trintellix for a week during the transition. However, after a couple of weeks on Trintellix, I decided to go back to 20mg of Cymbalta, intending to stop it altogether. I tried to quit cold turkey, but the withdrawal symptoms—mainly dizziness and brain zaps—were too much to handle. That's when my doctor suggested the "Prozac bridge." I started with 10mg of Prozac for three weeks and liked how it made me feel, so I requested a higher dose of 20mg, which I took for two weeks before deciding to reduce back to 10mg. I stayed on 10mg for about 10 days before stopping. For the next 3.5 weeks, I felt great with no withdrawal symptoms. But then, suddenly, the dizziness and brain zaps returned and have persisted since. The dizziness has worsened and is now occurring during the day, not just in the evening. This has been going on for almost two months. What do you think, Alto? Is it too late for me to reinstate Prozac to ease the withdrawal symptoms and taper slowly over the next several months? Thank you! 20mg Cymbalta - 2 months 30mg Cymbalta - 1.5 months 20mg Cymbalta - 3 months 10mg Prozac - 3 weeks 20mg Prozac - 1 week 10mg Prozac - 1.5 weeks
