Lorelisa Posted October 25, 2024 Posted October 25, 2024 HELP! I GOT SEVERE CHRONIC ILL AFTER SSRI REACTION. Maybe someone here have knowledge or idea what this can be. I used lexapro 3 weeks a year a go and ended up in hospital with I think serotonin syndrome. But they said not possible from 1 med, but I was shaking, muscle cramps, couldn’t stand in my legs, dilated pupils, vomiting. I tappered off. But directly with this extreme reaction I developed shortness of breath and extreme exhaustion, full body pain, stinging like not having oxygen, now 1 year later still bed/couch bound. Before ssri not any shortness of breath symptoms. And was still able to function. It’s like a life before the ssri and after. No one has an answer and I am unbearable ill. I literally don’t know what it has triggered. But it caused the breathing issues, the extreme exertion intolerance and feeling ill 24/7. Does anyone have any idea what the ssri reaction could have damaged to create chronic shortness of breath and making me bed/couch bound? I am only getting worse now 1 year later. More people having this? I feel like I have chronic damage and it only getting worse. Tried so much nothing helps and my bloodwork and scans/x-ray is normal. I can’t find anything on developing this severe chronic illness and shortness of breath problems that are still there after a year??? Lexapro made me bedbound surviving.. 1.5 years later still so severe. What can be wrong???
