I have several questions. I’ve been on the 12.5 dose for a year now. I’ve taken this drug for about 20 years and most of the time was at a 50 mg or 25 mg dose. I didn’t need much due to metabolic pathways. My main reason for wanting to get off of these is that I have really bad insomnia and restless leg and a psychologist told me since i am super sensitive to everything it could be some weird reaction to the medications. Yet, getting off of them is messing with my sleep even worse. Kindof wondering if it’s worth it! I was curious as to whether or not anyone else had restless leg / insomnia as a side effect for these drugs?

Other question is will neurofeedback help the withdrawals? I accidentally skipped a day and then forgot to take a pill the next day and man I was sick. Whole body ached, beyond fatigued, couldn’t put sentences together. I’ve got it back in my system now but this terrifies me that I have this to look forward to. I really don’t want to give it that attention….I keep telling myself, I can handle this! My brain was made to function without this crap! What am I afraid of? Go ahead and put one foot in front of the other and you’ll get there. I need to read some success stories on here though to keep that attitude because the last week was super scary.

I’ve gotten off the drugs before but it was 15 years ago after a mastectomy and they had me pumped full of medications for 6 weeks. I figured it was a as good a time as any to stop taking them and I did well for about 6 months and then decided to go back on them. Big mistake. I didn’t really need it for depression ever either - it was more for irritability and overwhelm (anxiety).

Anyhoo if anyone else has had restless leg and insomnia from taking zoloft I’d love to know if getting off them helped. And if neurofeedback was an effective aid in side effects. I’ve been reading it’s great but I think they’re referring to the mood side of it and not the side effects I’m realizing.

Thanks and best to everyone out there dealing with this!! We CAN do this.

Hopefully other users of Zoloft will comment but if you believe that your symptoms of restless legs and insomnia is from Zoloft, tapering off the medication should help resolve them in time. There is also a possibility that the insomnia is related to your Klonopin usage as it is intended to be taking three times a day and it appears that you are only dosing once a day at the moment.

For the restless legs, have you tried magnesium to see if it eases at all?

Thanks,

Firefly
