Administrator Emonda Posted December 4, 2024 Administrator Posted December 4, 2024 Hi @Chuey Thanks for the e-mail and adding something to your signature. We need more info than that. Below is an extract from the instructions: You say you are off Paxil from June 2024, but we need to know the steps you took to come off. Looking forward to your reply. Emonda FOR READABILITY, SHORT LINES ARE BEST. A list is easier to understand than one or multiple paragraphs Include ALL drugs, doses, and dates (starting and stopping) Any drugs prior to 24 months ago can just be listed with start and stop years Use actual dates or approximate dates (e.g. mid-June 2018) rather than relative time frames (e.g. 3 months ago) Spell out months (e.g. "January" or "Jan" as 9/1/2016 can be interpreted as 9 Jan 2016 or 1 Sept 2016) Please leave out symptoms and diagnoses Example: 2001–2002 paroxetine 2003 citalopram 2004 paroxetine 2008 paroxetine slow taper down to 2016 Aug off paroxetine 2016 citalopram May 20mg Oct slow taper down 2018 citalopram 13 Feb 4.6mg 15 Mar 4.4mg 29 Apr 4.2mg Please don't send me PMs. I am not a doctor. My comments are based on my personal experience with ADs and tapering. Consult your doctor about your own medical decisions. Start of taper: Jan ’22 Vortioxetine 15mg End year 1: 4.5mg End year 2: 2.38mg End year 3: 1.16mg Year 4: The brassmonkey slide continues...

Administrator Emonda Posted December 5, 2024 Administrator Posted December 5, 2024 Thanks for adding some details to your signature. Are you saying you went from 6.25mg to 0mg in one drop? If so, I'd expect you would be experiencing some unpleasant WD symptoms: Daily Checklist of Antidepressant Withdrawal Symptoms (PDF). You are way past the generally accepted period (3 months) to reinstate the AD. Recovery from stopping ADs CT is not linear. There are good days and not-so-good days/weeks/months. This is referred to as the Windows and waves pattern of stabilization. Chuey Posted December 5, 2024 Author Posted December 5, 2024 So to clarify, over the past year and a half I had tapered down from 50mg to 6.25mg and was holding there for about 4 months. Unfortunately my insurance stopped covering it, so I went from 6.25 to total discontinuation in June. I began to experience delayed onset of symptoms including waves of extreme depression as well as heart palpitations. (Btw, Magnesium has helped the palpitations significantly) Thankfully I have experienced better windows along the way.
