Kindler
This is a tricky 1, I've tried a couple of brands. The latest at lunchtime was mainly DHA from EPAX. 1 capsule around 375mg completely wiped me out, ramped up my symptoms and had to lay down for a few hours. 3 hours later, and my depression has lifted but muscle pain is slightly up. Now I don't want to be wiped out, and not sure if I'd sleep after taking it BUT the depression has gone and feel quite upbeat apart from being in pain. Maybe a lower dose would be better? Whenever I've tried it in the past when I didn't realize I was in WD from citalopram, things would build up and get too much after a couple of days, so not sure whether to keep trying or just accept I can't take anything. Anyone have any suggestions? Mascasa
Is it possible for omega-3 to help anxiety at first but then worsen it over time? I think this has happened to me. Moderator Onmyway Posted September 6, 2021 Moderator Share Posted September 6, 2021 A friend recently told me that fish oil pills can be rancid (and we wouldn't know it from the expiration date) and that rancid fish oil is harmful. The way to find out is apparently to see if the fish oil smells of fish would mean that it IS rancid as fresh fish oil would not smell of fish. I don't remember ever having encountered fish oil that hasn't smelled of fish. Both my bottles smell of fish. Anyone know more about this? I only know that I believe fish oil helps me a lot. The last fish oil bottle I bought came with the gelatin capsules smelling and tasting more like fish than the usual - even though it is the same band I always get. I suppose a different lot will have different characteristics since this is organic matter. I don't think fish oil has caused me any problems - I have taken it for months and I don't even refrigerate it... (although it is recommended to keep it in the fridge, I personally don't because it's easier for me that way) I just keep the bottle in my bag. I also take Vitamin E.
