  1. So I've been through the mill since May 2019.. Med free prior to this was put on and pulled off so many meds since then including zoloft ambien high dose, switched from klonopin to valium. Im currently on 9.5mg V and 900mg gabapentin.. In constant pain nerve and muscle. Severe abdominal pains DP and Dr.. Everything went raally badly when I was taken off 50mg zoloft in 2 weeks that was several months ago but I also abused ambien for about 3 months as was the only thing that could calm me down from having. Constant panic.. I now am left with severe pains and a host of neurological and mental sym
  2. I had sporadic anxiety issues as a teen, maybe even panic episodes, but I didn’t attribute them to a disorder (I’d never heard of such a thing at that time). I just figured I was an ‘anxious person.’ In my early 30s, sometime after my wife and I had our first child, I began having panic attacks at night. I didn’t know what they were and my fear exacerbated the problem. Panic attacks began happening during work, waiting in lines, at theaters, in my car. Eventually, I started reading books about anxiety, saw my doctor, and then started counseling. I got lots of great non-med help, but stil
  3. 2011: I was prescribed the following: Cymbalta 60 mg (arthritis). Zoloft 100 mg (anxiety). Buprenorphine 8 mg (off label for treatment resistant depression). Over a couple of years the doctor increased it to 24 mg. September 2018: Decided I wanted to try and reduce the meds. I began a rapid taper of the Bupe and was down to 12 mg by the end of November 2018. Mid December 2018: Started having severe panic attacks daily. Each morning they started at wake and lasted between 2-6 hrs. Assuming it was because of my recent Bupe reducti
  4. Hello! I'm hopeful that this is the correct area to write an initial post! I'm Kikijade and believe to be kindled from Zoloft. I also hope that my signature has worked and that everyone can see my history. I think I'll just wait to hear back on this one then write in the correct forum! This looks like such a wonderful resource but there are so many different forums and I'm not really sure where to start! Thanks so much x
  5. Hi everyone! I have been reading this forum for a while, and it has surely helped me a lot to recognize some off all my symptoms i have and had under and after tapering off Zoloft. I am 34 years old now, when i was around 20-21 years old (i dont have exact timeline) i suffered from some sudden major anxiety panic attacks. Under my first attack i was rushed to "life crisis emergency room" since nobody knew what happened to me. Here i talked to psychologist that helped me calm down and to a psychiatrist that gave me my first Zoloft pills. I took these without even thinking twice or k
  6. Hello. I am 55 and female. Firstly forgive me for my approximate dates in this timeline, I always have trouble remembering. I started taking Fluoxitine 40mg about 20 years ago when I became depressed after a bereavement and family hassle. Depression, anxiety and OCD affect(ed) three close members of my family. It helped but after a few years I felt numb and sleepy so with my GP’s blessing just stopped taking it. A year later I was back on it again, then off it after a few more years. This happened one more time and I stayed on it till 2018 when I asked if I could try something else
  7. I have a 23 year old non-vocal child (autism, self-injury, mood disorder and agitated catatonia.) Since they cannot tell me about the withdrawal effects they are experiencing I'm reaching out for some help. They have been on 175mg of Zoloft for 3+ years, they have also been experiencing severe periodic limb movements of sleep which I've read can be a side effect of Zoloft. The doc recommended reducing Zoloft by 25mg every two weeks. Within 3 days of reducing the Zoloft my adult child starting have problems with falling asleep and staying asleep as well having short periods of unus
  8. I've only been on Zoloft since July 2020, and I've decided to come off of it, very long story. Currently I'm tapering from 150mg and I've developed tinnitus in my left ear, it went from loud crickets to a quiet buzzing. How common is this? Will it go away within a couple of weeks when I'm completely off of it? I'm so desperate.
  9. crhawks-xanax-problem Hello All, My story is rather long, so please bear with me...I am in desperate need of help. I took only one pill of 50 mg Zoloft to deal with anxiety and mild postpartum depression 3 months ago, and I have had horrible effects ever since. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there light at the end of the tunnel? It seems like very similar symptoms to those I have read of withdrawal. But it seems strange to have withdrawal after only one pill. Maybe an adverse reaction? I am feeling very hopeless, I feel as though my life has changed forever, and t
  10. hello! I am a 40yr old mom of 1 and wife. I have a successful home based business and have struggled for over a year now with what I knew was withdrawl or at least had a suspicion. now that I have found you all my suspicions feel more confirmed. 4 yrs ago I was misdiagnosed as having a brain tumor. the dr who diagnosed me said "take 4 ativan a day and 2 klonopin 30minutes before bed and we will get you into a neurologist as soon as we can". I sat for 2 months drugged on benzos with the constant fear that I was going to leave my now 5yr old son and husband bc that's where your brai
  11. 8 months ago I was on. Primidone 500mg Vraylar 6mg Cymbalta 120mg Zoloft 200mg Clonezapam 2mg My kidney function had dropped to 42% and a certain NP for a award winning psychologist continued treatment after noticing major muscle movement disorder. After a few months of this she stopped vraylar 6mg cold turkey. I had a reaction within days of cognitive impairment. I could not handle ANY external input. For a month I could only stare at the ceiling in total darkness and no sound. No TV and food had to be something I could grab and eat in bed in the dark. I l
  12. Hi, all-- I am so grateful to have found this site. It is helpful to know that I'm not alone. This is my first post, I will try my best to be succinct. I'm a 42 y/o female. I've been on Zoloft for 12 years, anywhere from 50mg daily to 175mg. I'd say my average over the years is probably around 125mg daily. My signature has a breakdown of my history. I've also taken klonopin during this time, but I take it PRN as I have never agreed with the doc suggestions to take this med multiple times daily. So in terms of my average klonopin dosing, during acute anxiety or hospitalizatio
  13. Hi there 😀 I was on 150mg Zoloft for 8 months in 2017, then on 20mg Paxil for 6 months in 2018, then 60mg Buspirone for 6 months in 2018, and then back on 150mg Zoloft in 2019- all for PTSD. I came off of the Zoloft over the course of a month as recommended by my GP (way too fast I know now!) and had horrible withdrawals for a few months so my GP prescribed me Paxil for a month. I did not want to go back on Zoloft because it was making me so tired. I finished my month of Paxil in June 2020. I’ve had horrible hot flashes and chills since then. I’ve read the temperature dysregulation
  14. Hello and welcome to my hell. Lexapro 2 years along with heavy marijuana use, CT ... Fine for 5 months then all hell broke loose. April 2019 Took 1 10mg lexapro and woke up vomiting and diahrea. Cut back to 5mg for 2 days but couldnt move and also had the flu. Dr. Says try again when flu gets better. May 2019 took 2.5mg lexapro and awoke two hrs later7 in sheer panic and full blown akathesia. No good. Ended up in mental hospital and put on 10 mg celexa. After 5 days thrown back into full blown akathesia. No good so stopped and got worse. Second h
  15. Hi there, I’ve been trying to withdraw from SSRIs for about 3 years in and off without success. 2015- I was started on Zoloft 100mg after a prolonged depressive episode (possibly PND). I tried to come off them about 18months later ago. Withdrew too quickly and ended up being put back on Prozac - up to 40mg by January 2020). I have tried tapering once before and then started again in February 2020 (5 years after starting SSRIs). Reduced to 20mg for 4 months before 10mg for another month and withdrawing completely in August. Started on CBD oil a week later. I was fine fo

Drug History 2002 - Started Zoloft 100mg. Gradually reduced to 50mg, intending to come right off. 2009 - Went back up to 100mg - no ill effects. 2011 - Began slowly reducing again. 2017- Down to 25mg. October 2017- Dose increased to 50mg. I started taking Sertraline 100mg in 2002 because I’d developed panic disorder after a stressful mature-age college course. The medication worked immediately and continued to help me - I was well for 7 years with no anxiety. I gradually reduced to 50mg, but in 2009 went back up to 100mg with no ill effects dur
  17. 6 years ago had baby number 2. Ended up post natal. They put me on sertraline. Wasn't working on me great so eventually went up to 200mg. Since Dec 14 I tapered off. Finishing in April 15. I've been suffering with anxiety and tears negative thoughts ever since. In waves and windows. Now nearing 7 months and going through a wave if tears last week and this. I feel maybe I should go back on but my heart of hearts and also hubby and friends say stick it out as I have good days too. Mornings are bad at times.
  18. Hello Thank you for accepting me in to this group. I have always faced adversity and never ever took any medication. I always felt these were life situations that all of us must face - and that there isn't a fast fix - only time will heal - which it always had. But when my son was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoma Leukemia - I forgot all about the above and listened to my GP to take something for this pain that hurting my very soul. So I took Zoloft and stayed on it for 8 years - Then on December 3, 2011 - my GP and I decided it was time to start tapering off Zoloft. Unfortunately Zol
  19. Hi, I want to stop using this awful drug. My doctor wants me to try something else. I don't want to try anything but stopping. I have only been on 25mg of Zoloft for 6 days. Can I just quit? I need help
  20. Hi, I've been tapering from Zoloft for almost 4 years now. I started at 150mg and am down to 12.7mg. I'm reducing 10% every 8 weeks. Except for minor withdrawals around week 6, so far so good. My question is - how far down is it necessary to go before you finally quit? 3mg, 1mg? Less than 1mg? Also, I'm using the Gemini 20 scale with the 10mg weight. How far can you go with this scale and be accurate enough? It seems like the scale is getting touchier the farther I go down. I saw someone on here say they bought a new scale every few years because of this. Sound like a good ide
  21. Hey all, From original topic title: 8 months of hypomania, increasing irritability, two major manic episodes, then CT Wish I found this site before. Prescribed 50 mg in October 2018, reported immediate response, eventually asked to cut the dose to 25 mg when symptoms were arising more frequently. Doc said go up to 100 mg, thankfully I disagreed and we went down instead. Kept having increasing symptoms and eventually started taking 12.5 mg twice a day thinking I was a fast metabolizer. Then: suicidal ideation and one hell-ish manic episode (with a good 50 mi
  22. Hi anything would help. i was prescribed Zoloft, prestiuq, rexulti, lamotragene,Paxil during a 14 month period all at separate times and tapered off in 8 days. Also experiencing black mold toxicity. I’ve been off meds for almost 3 months. And out of the apartment for a month. Very desperate. I’m experiencing derealazation , massive depression and anxiety. I have no idea where to start to address these things. Psychiatrist wants to put me on Prozac and and taper in 3-4 months. Symptoms from both are conditions are similar and again don’t know where to start.

Hello all. I'm a 45 year woman who has spent the last 10 years on Zoloft due to GAD & panic attacks. I had several years of "bliss" in that as long as I took my 50 mg of Zoloft, I was anxiety free. That all stopped when my husband begged me to get off of it due to all the side effects ~ and honestly, I feel like it's been a downhill slope from there. I'm off of Zoloft now but due to a really bad 2 weeks of panic and insomnia, I'm on Buspar to help with the physical symptoms. After reading so many posts on here, I feel that because I've been on Zoloft for so long, I was suffering from w
  24. Hi, all. Thank you so much for providing this site. I’ve been inspired by the stories here, and look forward to my own recovery and hope to help others as I can along the way. It’s been a hellish year… I have a rather long story – 99% of which takes place within the last year – so please bear with me. I’ll write this out in a timeline for organization’s sake. In essence, I have a history of anxiety and depression, and have OCD. I have been suffering from severe postpartum anxiety (PPA) and depression (PPD) since delivering my son in May 2018 – exacerbated by a move out
  25. Hi All - Glad to have found this group. I have been taking anti-depressants now for almost 20 years. I am a 45 year old female from Washington state, USA. I'm gainfully employed, in a stable marriage, have a smart, funny kid, have a good social circle with supportive friends - and you would never know by looking at me (or my fakebook profile) the struggles I've had with anti-depressant medications. It is a subject I do not talk about, except with my doctor and therapist. I am at a point in my life now where I am seriously considering tapering off - but I am scared. Here's my history (note tha
