Yes, it's very possible you have withdrawal syndrome. We cannot tell if it's from the benzo or sertraline.

Do you have any sertraline left?

Reading through these threads will probaly explain many things for you:

 What is withdrawal syndrome?

About reinstating and stabilizing to reduce withdrawal symptoms

I owuld say it's both withdrawals but as Alto says, it's impossible to say for sure.

At 4 months out it's also impossible to say whether reinstating a very small amount of teh drug will bring a relief. If you decide to try it out after you rad through our topic on that, don't go with more than 1 mg. In that way there will be no harm and it will be easy to stop if there are negative reactions.

You will find all the information you need if you decide to reinstate here:

It will get better but before it gets better it might get worse. Also sometimes it lasts for years.

In your case it's further complicated by clonazepam withdrawal...

Sorry to hear you're feeling bad! I tried to taper off of Zoloft too quickly (for me) two times. In my case, I was jumping off from 12.5 mg. I'm currently having a better time with the tapering at a much slower rate, using liquid Zoloft. It can be done, for sure, if you have to go back on the medicine to avoid substantial withdrawal problems. I'm a newbie here but there are moderators that really know their stuff, and can probably point you to good information on your specific issue. Try not to blame this on biological depression or anxiety- from all I've read, it's probably withdrawal. I wish you well!

Found this site for real in 2015. Decided to taper slowly.

** I should mention that anytime I haven't been in a wave, I've felt pretty amazing! I only record the waves to look for patterns : ))**

50 mg Zoloft 6/2015, with intermittent fish oil

6/9/15 alternated 50 mg/37.5 mg - doc's idea (she meant well) 6/17 terrible morning anxiety and rumination, flu symptoms, and prickles in legs. 6/18 up to 45 mg liquid Zoloft. 6/26-29 cortisol mornings and bad anxiety. 6/30 started to take mag 100 mg and fish oil regularly with med 7/4 44 mg. 7/8 42.6 mg. 7/16 40 mg. 7/23 39 mg 8/1 32 mg (bad idea).

8/5 fatigue, anxiety, can't sleep, depressed. 8/7 36 mg resolved to be patient and try to keep to THE THREE KIS's. 8/13-15; 8/17- 23 painful physical and mental wave. Started light therapy 20 m in am. 8/25 34 mg, added 80-100 mg liquid mag during day. great window til 8/29 2 day down stretch 9/8 32.8 mg 9/11-14 wave added acupuncture 9/22 31.5 mg teeny wave 10/6 30 mg small grumpy wave 10/19 28.5, same pattern- small wave at day 5. A few tough weeks. Held around 29 until 11/18 when dropped to 28 mg; 11/22 the usual fluey fatigue. 11/30 27 mg 12/14 25.75ish mg "hold til Xmas club" (in my case New Years) Xmas was tough, kept holding: by 1/15, feeling good again. 1/25/16 Mirena IUD out after nearly six years- I think it was affecting my mood and taper- feeling super great! 2/2 down to 24 mg. symptoms much less severe. One day, not too bad wave on 2/8. 2/15 down to 20 mg from 24. A week later, two restless mornings and one morning of brain fog. 3/2 from 20 to 16 mg! Wish me luck.

Medicine History:

Currently tapering from 50mg Zoloft. Ten years of SSRI's including Celexa, Prozac and Zoloft, as well as a stretch with Wellbutrin added to the Zoloft. When I started on Zoloft (4 years ago?) I was on 100 but was able to taper down to 50 via 25 mg increments slowly around 2013. Have used light therapy and fish oil intermittently since around 2013. Have tried unsuccessfully to get off the meds since then in what I know now to be too large a taper (for example, jumped from 25 to 12.5 and that did not work). Motivated to do this slowly because that's the only way it will happen.

If you wish to try reinstatement of sertraline, you might want to take a very small amount, such as 5mg, and see how it affects you. If you don't have an immediate bad reaction, you'll need to give it about a week to see if it helps. Even a little bit of improvement is a good sign.

We cannot predict how soon people will get well.

Most people have many more symptoms than "depression." Do you have other symptoms? What do you mean by "depression"?

Looks like classic withdrawal syndrome to me. Without reinstatement, it could last months or years. Since you've already had it for 4 months, probably it will be years. Your choice.

Many people do better with fish oil and magnesium supplements, see

Reinstatement might help, or might not. It's the only thing you can do to reduce symptoms.

Perhaps you could try 1mg for 4 days or so and see what it does for you. Please let us know how you're doing.

Well, this is my situation. I decided not to reinstate. Why? Because i don´t know if it´s going to work 4 months off, plus I don´t know what it´s benzo withdrawal and what is for the zoloft. I think I have to give my CNS a break for so many changes.

I took fish oil and I didn´t tolerate it (stomach problems).

Last days I was feeling very bad, but the symtoms are kind estabilize. The symtoms are pretty much the same every day.

I´m writing every day my symtoms. The most problematic is fear, Im afraid of everything.

Hi Nano! Hope you are doing okay. I'd look at the forums on liquid Zoloft: http://survivingantidepressants.org/index.php?/topic/1441-tips-for-tapering-off-zoloft-sertraline/

I was able to get a prescription for liquid Zoloft, which has made things MUCH easier.

I know many people seem to be helped by reinstating at a small dose. Maybe if you look around this site for information on this, or look at the experiences of people who have reinstated on this forum, you will get a good idea for what it entails. I haven't been there myself. I do know cold turkey can be very difficult though.

I totally get it! It's a personal choice. Make sure you look around just to see how people have done things- my reading on this site suggests some people who cold turkeyed had strong symptoms last a really long time, whereas reinstating a tiny amount mighty reduce symptoms. I am an extreme beginner on this site though so I am not an authority by any means! There ar moderators on the site who have better informed views. Just hate to think of the pain you must be in. And also am having a positive experience with my current taper, off of an SSRI- have not had experience with benzos thankfully. Finally, I've had luck with magnesium, fish oil, and acupuncture as supplements to help remedy my withdrawal pain. Good luck Nano!

Sorry, we don't know of anything that will take away the withdrawal syndrome in a short time. Reinstatement sometimes works, but now it 6 months since you've gone off sertraline and there's a decreased chances of it working.

Generally, people heal over time. This can be very slow and frustrating, see What is withdrawal syndrome?

Psychotherapy and homeopathic medicine can help a little. See our Symptoms and Self-care forum  http://survivingantidepressants.org/index.php?/forum/8-symptoms-and-self-care/for other suggestions about how to cope with symptoms.

When people recover, they frequently don't come back to tell us about it. I hope you post your success story here some day.

Please if someone knows, i need help. Before I take meds i sufer with migraines with aura. Last wednesday i have a very strong aura (like used to be) and still today i have like a strange sensation in face and in my eyes. Is there a relation between migraines and withdrawal?, im very scared that the simtoms im feeling are some neurological damage. I scared so much that all the other simtoms worsen because the fear i have that this is not WD related

I had a lot of head aches on zoloft. Some of them felt like migraines. It's very common in withdrawal.

So dont worry. It's also very common with sensations in eyes and face. I often feel tense in the face, have red eyes and sudden blurry vision. It will all go away.

Current dose: 0! Free!  Quit June 2017.

2017: Last dose zoloft: 17 June 0,00065 mg 18 May 0, 001 mg 14 May 0,002 mg 9 May 0,003 mg 28 April 0,006 mg 19 April 0,009 mg 8 April 0,013 mg 25 March 0,019 mg 22 March 0,039 mg 18 March 0,052 mg 16 March 0,079 mg 4 March 0,086 1 March 0,099 mg 22 February 0,11 mg 15 February 0,13 mg 6 February 0,145 mg 24 January 0,15 mg 19 January 0,19 mg 10 January 0,20 mg 3 January

2016: 0,98 to 0,22 mg; 2015: 2,35 to 1,01 mg; 2014: 4,9 to 2,5 mg; 2013: 9,1 to 5,1 mg; 2012: 15,7 to 9,7 mg; 2011: Started on 25 mg - then 50 mg- dropped to 25- to 12.5 mg - back to 25 mg - after 18.75 mg started tiny tapering to 16.6 mg

Started on 25 mg Zoloft in March 2011 due to stressrelated tinnitus that gave me panicattacks. Had a terrible reaction to Zoloft from start, but was told to "hold on". After four months I was stuck. Therefore the long taper. Crazy, I know... Super sensitive to drops and have dropped by 4-6 % from the previous dose.

Hi Nano,

I had a lot of physical symptoms during sertraline (zoloft) withdrawal. I ended up reinstating because I was able to find out quickly enough what to do. I too hard horrible headaches and I felt a pressure in my ears and a pressure behind my eyes and behind my nose.  I hope you feel better as soon as possible.

Warm wishes,

Rachel Susan
