Anyway, my goal for this week is to exercise at least twice this week I am good to get out Saturday & Sunday I love nature. I need to start cooking also. Otherwise All is well xx

It must be lovely to live in Ireland and have beautiful hills for walking. I'm envious. I would try and take full advantage of this and just try and walk away your withdrawal.

I know it's not quite that simple but it does give you a slight edge. Enjoy !

Many SSRI's and SSNRI's over 20 years. Zoloft for 7 years followed by Effexor, Lexapro, Prozac, Cymbalta, Celexa, Pristiq, Valdoxan, Mianserin and more - on and off. No tapering. Cold turkey off Valdoxan - end of May 2014

I just realise I feel lonely....I feel I have no one I can confide in...someone to listen....the only person I have ever felt anyone cared was a therapist I paid...I went to for years...I miss her....I miss her listening to me.. I miss feeling normal after talking to her...I miss her mothering me...As I type this healing tears roll down my cheeks...tonight is self-pity night....

Hi Rose, your post about weight gain and sugar caught my eye. I am another sugar addict and the weight is piling on! I need to cut out sugar too or at least cut it down. I cut it right down before and felt much better but gradually have got back into bad habits again. Your post has made me decide that from tomorrow I will not have any more cake or sweets, or biscuits.......or juice, oh dear this is going to be tough, want to join me?  :)

Thank you mamma ❤. Still feeling flat. I have a wedding to attend tomorrow but no energy to get organised.I think I will choose not to have children.I don'the know how I would cope if I had other people relying on me to be fully functioning fully present.

You will cope Rose. You wont always feel this way and will get better. Take the day in steps, first step is to get up, and then a shower etc. You might enjoy it, often I dread going places but feel better that I've done it and it passes a day. Hope you make it and have a lovely time, even if it is only an hour.

Hi rose sorry to hear u going through an episode of depression ,I know your pain ,I am also going through a very bad episode of depression at the moment, its a beautiful day here in Ireland and ile go off for a walk for a  few hours , I went yesterday but had zero energy so when I got home I got straight into bed at 4pm and slept like a baby until 6.

I've experienced the feeling of torture trying to get out of bed and then finally getting out for that walk, this is the time we need to keep our strength up.

but i totally understand some days we have to rest .

The other day I was out up the hills with no one around and I was experiencing a horrible episode of depression and I shouted out loudly F#CK OFF HORRIBLE DEPRESSION LEAVE ME ALONE ,i felt some relief ,its like writing it down on paper.A strong episode of depression is very insidious ,its like been possessed by a demon.

This whole winter  just felt like something i had to get through  and i did ,so in that aspect its an achievement.

Please be careful thinking about big decisions like children in a depression episode ,it can make it worse.

Have fun at your wedding ,its a great day for it ,here in Ireland .

Take care

Hi Powerback, How are you feeling now? Sorry your not feeling good also xx.I am using this site to track my symptoms.Today like yesterday I experienced a huge release of tears....deep release...prior to this I felt anxious, stressed, overwhelmed and worried.I felt so much better after this discharge . I wonder what is happening in my fried brain...I felt so much better...it was like it rebooted my brain like a computer....then when I was mindful there was a lot of strange sensations around various aspects of my brain.I hope healing.I got my period also today.I am grateful of this website as a tracking of symptoms so that I can learn to understand normalise & articulate my process.Again so grateful for this space. I have gone too far to go back. I am tenacious. love & light xx

Hi Rose9975:

I see you go down 1mg a month. Does that work best for you, not the 10%?

I'm at 7.3 and have been nauseated ever since, no motivation, and very emotional.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

Take care,

Frogie xx

Latest update ....yesterday I was feeling horrible. Depressive feelings huge fatigue for the last few days since Wednesday. Adrenal exhaustion from stress? Tapering symptoms? depression (body telling me I need the tablets?)

Hi snap with symptoms, lately I make a huge point of watching comedy [last night Seinfeld clips on youtube] ,just back from my walk [tiring] and said hello to the doctor that originally put me on medication ,I've seen him before  on my walks ,thought it was funny seeing him today.

I'm sorry that your window has slammed shut Rose. It will open again it is normal for the wndows to last a short time but they will lengthen in time. It would be best to hold the dose you are at for a while to stabilise before making any more cuts. I hope you feel better soon.

Hi Rose,

Just wanted to stop by and say you aren't alone. My fatigue is TERRIBLE too. It's my worst symptom and makes it hard to work. I don't have insomnia like a lot of other people. I sleep great for 8-9 hours and still wake up lethargic and heavy. Hope yours lifts soon!! :)

Took 10 mg of Lexapro for 15 years. Started to taper in October 2015. Took last 1mg dose in March 2016. Started having side effects end of March 2016. Symptoms include: anxiety, heart palpitations, shaky, chronic fatigue, body feels like lead(so heavy), brain fog and dizziness and really bad pain especially on right side of body.

Symptoms as of 10/18/16- Burning skin, widespread body pain, some insomnia, some fatigue, some brain fog, anxiety upon waking up, numbing and tremor in pinky and ring finger on left hand, cracking/popping/stiff joints.

Symptoms as of 4/19/17- A little burning skin, muscle pain, FATIGUE, some brain fog, tremor in pinky and ring finger on left hand, cracking/popping/stiff joints, blurry vision, eye floaters, sciatica.

Symptoms as of 10/3/17- Physical symptoms-- Very little burning skin that comes and goes, some muscle and nerve pain that comes and goes, tremor in pinky and ring finger, muscle twitches, cortisol spike in the morning(heart palpitations), cracking/popping joints all those this has gotten a little better lately, blurry vision and eye floaters that come and go, sciatica(less intense now), fatigue which is still very bad but better than a year ago. Mental symptoms-- Depression, anxiety, hopelessness, lack of motivation or interest, brain fog(trouble focusing and concentrating), ruminating thoughts. All these come and go.

Hi Chicago77, I see your off this drug.well done you.I empathise with your tiredness ...energy afffects everything. ..mood...productivity. ...part-taking in life etc...you think the drug cause's brain damage? maybe the tiredness is coming from depression? God only knows I guess we are the guinea pigs for this drug. ...How do you manage the tiredness? It's strange at the weekends I feel fatigue yet I will push myself to climb a mountain for 2-4 hours that tells me it's psychological....I can push through this mental barrier somedays not other days to do housework, visit a friend etc strange etc. What are your thoughts on that? ?

Honestly, I don't think my fatigue is caused by depression or anxiety. I never had depression and the anxiety from WD has subsided months ago. Of course I get frustrated that I'm exhausted and have other physical symptoms, but I don't really feel anxious. It's strange. The only thing I can think of is maybe I shocked my body by coming off this drug(I didn't taper correctly) and it effected every part of my body. All my organs like brain, liver, adrenals, gut etc. I don't know. I see other people on here are suffering from severe fatigue too, so I know it's not just us. I never had fatigue problems prior or during meds so it has to be related. Some days I can barely move out of bed and others I can move around with less fatigue and do things. Who knows!

Hi Rose,

I am also struggling with fatigue which I believe is caused by lexapro WD. I have some other symptoms but this intense fatigue is on top of the list for sure . I basically CT this summer then reinstated in October stayed on 5 mg for about 2.5 months and then switched to another SSRI Luvox . I did get some relief but the fatigue is very overwhelming . I do think it is caused by WD from lexapro . I had some fatigue while I was on lexapro but nothing compared to the way I feel . I also didn't have any fatigue prior to taking lexapro , so my assumption and belief it is medication induced .

I can second to Chicago how one day I wake up and I am so fatigued and brain foged that I can't even get out of bed . On few occasions I had to come in late for work due to this . And on other days I wake up and I am a tiny bit less fatigued and somewhat able to function . It is definitely a challenge . I do not know if there is a pattern or not . I try to get at least 9 hours of sleep to help me cope

Hope you are doing better

04/10 Luvox 25 mg PM, Nortriptyline 1 mg PM

03/08/19: Buspar 2.5 mg AM, 5 mg PM

  • Lexapro 20 mg 2007 - 2013 with various attempts to stop
  • 2013 found a new Dr and started trying other meds: Prozac, Notryptoline, Effexor, Buspar, Gabapentin, Paxil, Nardil

  • Vibryiid 10 - 15mg 05/16-06/16

Just an update:I am still stabilised. A reminder that it does come. Intense Fatigue has left the building.Overeating a lot. Felt bulimic urge to vomit yesterday it was strange.Coming off this tablet is such an experience. Maybe stomach receptors coming back into action..maybe not..maybe just eating too much....no symptoms thank God all is well. I wish to try to enjoy life & part take in it more...I need to get a better more solid foundation e.g pass times, making time for friends etc.
