Rose9975
Hi All, I gave birth to a beautiful healthy 9 pound baby who is so gorgeous. Amazingly, I normally suffer from SAD very strongly during the winter but I have yet to use my sad lamp this winter. I am still recovering post pregnancy with urinary incontinent issues which is literally 'pissing' me off 🤣😁 .....planning on trying for another child at the end of the year otherwise I would go back up on my Lexapro (presently 15mg) while I'm not depressed (suicidal ideation, intense anger) I'm feeling teary eyed & overwhelmed. I need more exercise & to watch my diet as the increase in weight is contributing to low self worth. I've started taking antidepressants in 2001. I took Cipramil for 3 years. Elflexor for 1 year. Lexapro 10mg - 20mg since 1992 approximately. STARTING DOSE 20mg Lexapro 2016 19mg Lexapro (3rd January 2016)-Taper 5% 18mg Lexapro (8th February 2O16)-Taper 5% 17mg Lexapro (? Moderator Emeritus ChessieCat Posted January 26, 2019 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted January 26, 2019 Congratulations Rose. That's great news. 49 minutes ago, Rose9975 said: I'm feeling teary eyed & overwhelmed. That part is fairly normal on becoming a new mum. Life is different (totally changed and some things are disrupted!) because you have a little one who needs looking after but you do need to remember to look after yourself too so you can be the best mum that you can be. * NO LONGER ACTIVE on SA * MISSION ACCOMPLISHED: (6 year taper) 0mg Pristiq on 13th November 2021 ADs since ~1992: 25+ years - 1 unknown, Prozac (muscle weakness), Zoloft; citalopram (pooped out) CTed (very sick for 2.5 wks a few months after); Pristiq: 50mg 2012, 100mg beg 2013 (Serotonin Toxicity) Tapering from Oct 2015 - 13 Nov 2021 LAST DOSE 0.0025mg Post 0 updates start here My tapering program My Intro (goes to tapering graph) VIDEO: Antidepressant Withdrawal Syndrome and its Management Link to comment
Rose9975
Not feeling great at the moment (teary eyes, low mood, irritability, craving of carbohydrates, angry) all the symptoms/ on the scale of depression for me (arbitrary Score 4) . I feel & am fat. Score 9 is where I have suicidal ideation. 10 is where I 'shut down'. Contemplating returning to 20mg I was definitely more 'stable' (for me) at this dosage. I feel I need something. The thought of tapering further has not been an option for a long long time.Dr Phil speaks of the neurological damage of trauma (& perhaps antidepressants who knows) on the brain. I have been struggling to get myself to the place to consistently implement exercise, mindfulness, eating healthy etc in my daily living. On a positive since given birth I have met up with friends on a weekly basis which is new for me. I've started taking antidepressants in 2001. I took Cipramil for 3 years. Elflexor for 1 year. Benzhelp
Hi Rose, Congratulations on your new baby, Rose <3 So sorry to hear you are suffering. these are probably seasonal winter symptoms and perhaps post birth symptoms too? Depression is so common this time of year. Hope you get all the support you need as you recover. Glad to hear you have been taking care of yourself more with healthier routines and have been meeting people. self-care and being with friendly hopeful people is so important. Please be careful not to overdo it though, with drugs it’s hard to deal with even positive stress. take it easy. Rose9975
Thank you Benzhelp x.I do suffer from SAD alright & with the baby constantly in my arms it's hard to use my SAD lamp. I joined a parent's group yesterday which is was positive had to force myself up early as I had not much sleep. I LOVE my sleep When my partner came home from work I went to bed for a few hours & woke much better to face a crying fussy baby she went down & I was able to make the bottles, tidy the kitchen etc. I craved & ate so much carbohydrates yesterday (chocolate, bread, jam etc) I felt fatter & bloated afterwards. She is awake now again at 4a.m & feel better that I wasn't getting up to a pile of clothes & dishes. Thanks for listening Love & blessings to you all XxxX I've started taking antidepressants in 2001. Rose9975
Hi All, I fell into a major " depressive black hole" last week & returned to my GP on Thursday 05th March 2020. He put me 50mg Sertraline (generic) . I took it with 20mg Lexapro (brand name). 6th - 8th March I took 50mg Sertraline. Today 9th March I took Sertraline & 10mg Lexapro as I could feel the withdrawal of Lexapro in my head. I would really really really appectiate some advise. Is this ok? I am so scared of experiencing the intense withdrawal symptoms of lexapro. Thank you x sorry if its the wrong website please recommend another if so. I just don't know who to turn to. Administrator Altostrata Posted March 9, 2020 Administrator Share Posted March 9, 2020 Hi, Rose. It appears you decided to stay on an antidepressant.
