loswhit
Hey guys. A month later and I'm still surviving. I get 1 or 2 days of respite from the pins and needles and then they come back for a week or so. When I keep busy I don't pay them much attention but what sucks is that when I slow down, I feel them massively. Praying that these go away soon/ It's exhausting living with this. I hope that you guys are doing ok. I have been soooooo tempted to go to the doc and get a new ssri but I havent taken a paxil in over 3 months and I would rather live with this knowing it will end one day than go back to pumping that stuff into my body. 12 years on the stuff. a few months with this needling. I keep telling myself this HAS to have to do with the drug. But then my mind starts racing after a few bad days in a row. Anyone know what I mean? Moderator Emeritus KarenB Posted November 28, 2016 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted November 28, 2016 Hang in there Los - it's the drugs, it's the drugs, it's the drugs . And if you do get tempted to take more drugs, make sure it's a reinstatement of a small amount of your drug after careful consideration here on your thread! Don't go adding in a whole new one, or take a great big dose. I'm sure you won't, but just in case...I thought I'd put it in writing. Does anything at all bring relief? Hot baths with epsom salts? Yoga? Anything? 2010 Fluoxetine 20mg. 2011 Escitalopram 20mg. 2013 Tapered badly and destabilised CNS. Effexor 150mg. 2015 Begin using info at SurvivingAntidepressants. Cut 10% - bad w/d 2 months, held 1 month. Micro-tapering: four weekly 0.4% cuts, hold 4 weeks (struggling with symptoms). 8 month hold. 2017 Micro-tapering: four weekly 1% cuts, hold 4 weeks (symptoms almost non-existent). 2020 Still micro-tapering. Just over 2/3 of the way off effexor. Minimal symptoms, - and sleeping well. Supplements: Fish oil, vitamin C, iron, oat-straw tea, nettle tea. 2023 December - Now on 5 micro-beads Effexor. Minimal symptoms but much more time needed between drops. Symptoms begin to increase. 2024 April - Updosed to 6 microbeads - immediate increase in symptoms for 4 days. Decreased to 5 microbeads. loswhit
Hey guys and gals. Checking in. How is everybody doing? I had a 48 hour respite with no needling over thanksgiving! What a blessing to enjoy my family. I think the sad part is wondering when they will come back again and then believing they won't, and then waking up and prick. prick. prick. They are back. I'm in the middle of a 4 day run where it's been all day long. But again. Healing is coming. I just have to stay positive. Peace! loswhit 20 mg Paxil 12 years. 10 mg starting January 2016 Stopped May 2016 Resumed 10mg July 11, 2016 Cut to 5mg August 7, 2016 Stopped August 27th Currently not putting any paxil into my body and surviving. LexAnger
Hi Loswhit, I am so glad you got couple day break from this very tourturing pain! I know exactly how you feel as I have been living with it for many years! It's also the most mysterious symptoms I simply couldn't figure out if it's a side effects or WD. Now I think it as a nerve/ brain damage by these drugs and once my system heals it will be gone like all others. As long as the pain is so damn intolerable, my other symptom with brain dead is even more disabling as I couldn't write a simple email straight and right which always makes me worrying about my job. Sometimes I feel horizontal position ( lying down, swimming) helps with pain. Hang in there, at least you are not being poisoned more.
