Had a car accident in 85
Codeine was the pain med when I was release from hosp continuous use till 89
Given PROZAC by a specialist to help with nerve pain in my leg 89-90 not sure which year
Was not told a thing about it being a psych med thought it was a pain killer no info about psych side effects I went nuts had hallucinations. As I had a head injury and was diagnosed with a concussion in 85 I was sent to a head injury clinic in 1990 five years after the accident. I don't think they knew I had been on prozac I did not think it a big deal and never did finish the bottle of pills. I had tests of course lots of them. Was put into a pain clinic and given amitriptyline which stopped the withdrawal but had many side effects. But I could sleep something I had not done in a very long time the pain lessened. My mother got cancer in 94 they switched my meds to Zoloft to help deal with this pressure as I was her main care giver she died in 96. I stopped zoloft in 96 had withdrawal was put on paxil went nutty quit it ct put on resperidol quit it ct had withdrawal was put on Effexor... 2years later celexa was added 20mg then increased to 40mg huge personality change went wild. Did too fast taper off Celexa 05 as I felt unwell for a long time prior... quit Effexor 150mg ct 07 found ****** 8 months into withdrawal learned some things was banned from there in 08 have kept learning since. there is really not enough room here to put my history but I have a lot of opinions about a lot of things especially any of the drugs mentioned above.
One thing I would like to add here is this tidbit ALL OPIATES INCREASE SEROTONIN it is not a huge jump to being in chronic pain to being put on an ssri/snri and opiates will affect your antidepressants and your thinking.

As I do not update much I will put my quit date Nov. 17 2007 I quit Effexor cold turkey.

Oh B my heart goes out to you. I hope it isn't Huntington's. You have suffered so greatly for so long. What a loving gesture on your part that you continue posting your research. Maybe it is cathartic for you dear one.

I am not a medical professional. My comments and posts are based on personal experiences. Please consult appropriate medical professionals for advice.

I was started on psych drugs back in the late 80's. You name it. I probably was on it. Tapered off final cocktail 2013-2019. For Hashimotos and high blood pressure I take Levothyroxine. Liothyronine. Spironolactone. Hydrochlorothiazide. Losartan. B12 hydroxy. Fish oil w/D3. Bee pollen. Magnesium Glycinate.

It is a warning to other people who have also suffered enough to not take Levaquin... and like drugs if they have managed to avoid it so far.

It is the same as you telling other people to not take drugs that damaged you it is what SA was created to do.  It is what every person on this entires site does ... why we are here.  cathartic is feeling really wrong to me but I will take it as water off a ducks back as I can't be  bothered feeling bad today I feel bad enough without it...

peace to you

I apologize btdt. I will go away forever now everyone. I never say the right words to anyone. My family thinks I am some kind of freak. I have no one anymore.

btdt, not to at all minimize the movement issues you have, but, isn't Huntington's a genetic health condition? Did the doctor test you for it? I'm almost positive there is an accurate test for this, I could swear someone told me that recently.  But memory being what it is...well guess I should go look it up.

Whichever it is, I really hope you don't have it too.

Also I wasn't meaning this to say that Levaquin can't cause movement issues or other serious problems, just to be clear.

Marsha, just wanted to say I think you are a beautiful soul and try not to worry when your words have an unintended effect - you obviously care a lot about people and have a lot to give. I am so sorry you are going through such a rough time, please have faith that things will get better. Sending a big hug to you (())

Marsha, I just read your last post, I'd only read part of this thread...Please don't beat yourself up, I know I often feel like I can't find the right words to say what I want, withdrawal has done a right good job of making it very difficult to communicate.

And I'm sorry you haven't anyone who understands around you, many people I know disappeared when I got sick from drugs, or they didn't get it either.  This seems a very lonely journey for so many people.  Wish it were easier for you and everyone else.
