Hello. I have to taper off alprazolam and I am looking everywhere for a doctor or treatment center that uses the Ashton Method/Manual for tapering off. Can anyone please tell me of a doctor or clinic they know of that can help me in Minnesota? If it's a treatment center, I will even travel out of state, it's so hard for me to find a doctor that will use this method. Thank you to anyone who can help!

Hi minwolves, and welcome to SA,

This site exists because very few doctors know how to taper people off psychiatric drugs.  SA has a Members-only benzo forum with knowledgeable and supportive mods who can help you do a careful taper off your drug/s.

Please create a drug signature Create Your Signature.  Please include details for the last 12-18 months of  all drugs, dates, doses and discontinuations & reinstatements.  If you can't remember dates, please write it as "early March" or "mid-August".  Please provide a summary of any drugs prior to that which can just be listed with start and stop years. Please include all prescription, non-prescription drugs and supplements you are currently taking. Phone Instructions:  Withdrawal History Signature. Please also remember to update it with date and dose whenever make a change so that it remains current. Thank you.

SA recommends a taper of no more than 10% of the previous dose followed by a hold of about 4 weeks to allow your brain to adapt to not getting as much of the drug.  Please have a read of the following links:

Why taper by 10% of my dosage?

These really helped me to understand SA's recommendations:
