Hazel, please stay with 7.5mg and 0.5mg taken at the same times for at least a week so we can see what's going on. The variations in your dosing have made it impossible to tell if this is the right direction.

Let us know how you're doing.

I am staying with 7.5 in the am and .5 in the pm.  I made a mistake the one day, but don’t plan to repeat that.  Today was better than yesterday.  I still have had anxiety come and go but not as intense.  It’s a gloomy day, so that doesn’t help with my mood, but I would definitely say today is an improvement from yesterday.

Thanks Dave.

I am still working on getting this all sorted out.  Definitely not where I’d like to be yet, but I’m functioning and getting by.  Would love to be in a nice long window or at least be more stable, but I believe I am getting there.

Update for today:

Woke up with anxiety this morning, but it dissipated as the morning went on.  The day was pretty decent overall.  I had waves of anxiety that would come and go but not as intense as it was last week.  Today was better than yesterday, so I feel like I am heading in the right direction.

Update for today:

Felt okay early on today, but started feeling more anxious this afternoon.  Still feeling anxious now-not high anxiety, but uncomfortable.  Not sure if it’s because this is day 4 of the dosage increase?  I guess this is to expected.  I am just hoping it’s not a bad sign that the increase is not going to work?

Not high anxiety is good!  Discomfort isn't so bad - it feels unpleasant but is tolerable.  I don't think it is a sign of anything at this stage - some up and down is to be expected.  It's the overall direction that is more important.  Okay yesterday, okay early today, sounds like overall things are improving.

I would say it is to be expected for sure. Sounds like you are for sure headed in the right direction, but you need to expect some detours.

I would say it is to be expected for sure. Sounds like you are for sure headed in the right direction, but you need to expect some detours.

Yes, I think I am headed in the right direction.  I’m sure detours are to be expected.  I am just so thankful to be feeling much better from where I was last weekend.  I really appreciate all of the advice and support from this site.😊

Do you think the slight up-dose has made a difference, or just coming into a window?

Hazel needed a little more Paxil in the evening, her metabolism was making it disappear during the day.

Alto,

should I continue with 7.5 in the am and .5 in the pm or will I eventually need to increase my dose in the pm?

Hazel, it will take some time, maybe weeks, to see what this does for you. So far, it looks good.

You may have waves and windows in the meantime.

Yay!  I am so glad to hear you are doing better, Hazel.  :)

-1/06 - 3/07 Cymbalta. Fast taper (essentially CT); withdrawal symptoms after 4 mos (didn't realize was WD)

-10/07: 100 mg Zoloft; 1 mg Klonopin - tapered off Klonopin after 4 mos. Several unsuccessful slow tapers of Zoloft; went up and down in dose a lot

-Spring 2013 back on 1 mg Klonopin to counter WD symptoms; switched over 5-6 mos from Zoloft to 35 mg citalopram
-Two attempts at slow tapering citalopram, always increased dose due to WD; also increased Klonopin to 1.25 mg in 2014, then to 1.5 mg in 2015

-8/17-9/17: After holding one year at 20 mg, feeling withdrawal symptoms due to stress - slowly increased to 25 mg. No change in symptoms after 6 months (? tolerance ?)  - decided to start citalopram taper February 2018 (still on Klonopin 1.5 mg).

Supplements: fish oil; magnesium; vitamin D3; curcumin

Citalopram taper:  2/2018 - 12/2019: 25 mg - 11.03 mg I 2020: 10.89 mg - 7.9 mg I 2021: 7.8 mg - 5.26 mg I 2022: 5.2 mg - 3.36 mg I 2023: 3.3 mg - 1.47 mg 2024: 1/5/24: 1.44 mg; 1/19/24: 1.40 mg; 1/26/24: 1.37 mg; 2/2/24: 1.34 mg; 2/9/24: 1.31 mg; 2/23/24: 1.28 mg; 3/1/24: 1.25 mg; 3/8/24: 1.22 mg; 3/15/24: 1.19 mg

I am really, really happy that you’ve been stabilising a bit Hazel,

I know how much distress you were in when I first joined this forum.

As you said there will be detours but you’re getting some reprieve now which is amazing.

I am doing a lot better than I was just a week ago.  It’s stil hard to trust that things will continue to get better, but I am trying to remain hopeful.  It’s almost traumatizing to go through such an intense wave.  I think it will take time to get past it and feel confident in my progress.

Update for today:

I had more anxiety today.  Not really high, just uncomfortable again.  It was off and on.  I think it’s at least partly because I took the last dose of hydroxyzine on Friday night.  Hopefully things continue to improve.  I am holding at 7.5 mg in the am and .5 mg in the pm.
