ShakeyJerr
MY GP wants me to go see a rheumatologist because my basic RA factors are high. Has anybody had any success going to a rheumatologist? I don't have joint pain. I do have neuropathic pain thanks to the darn withdrawal syndrome. Are there auto-immune solutions that can help with withdrawal? Or do they just give more drugs. I'm trying to avoid anything like medications that will make my withdrawal symptoms worse. SJ Main thread: http://survivingantidepressants.org/index.php?/topic/14472-shakeyjerr-say-hello/ History: Prozac & Lithium from 1999 to 2003. Ended up back on after 4 months because taking a beta-blocker caused immediate depression (just 2 doses - turned out I didn't even need it; I had no other withdrawal symptoms - I might have ended up med and withdrawal-free otherwise ). - Switched to Effexor (75mg 3/day) and Seroquel (50mg 3/day) in 2010. - Did a self-taper during 2016. - Developed Discontinuation Syndrome 02/17. Supplements: Magnesium-Glycinate 400mg split into 4 100mg doses throughout the day. Vitamin C 500mg - once per day. Fish Oil 1360 mg (950 mg Active Omega-3) - twice per day. I'm not a doctor. I use the internet, experience, and trial & error. Seek medical advice if necessary.
Blondiee1915
Hi! I know nothing about rheumatologist a I am sorry . But if your insurance covers it I would say go check it out . It is good to have that peace of mind. As far as auto-immune goes I had a few blood tests done (regular panel) and it showed that I was sick or something (some cell count was low and that typically indicates if you have a cold or other immune situation . Anyways I was not sick I didn't have a cold nor flu I was going though WD that's when my hair fell out a lot and I just felt blah . So then I went to see a naturopath lady and she did a few other tests which showed that my immune system is weak . She gave me some liquid solution to take daily (few drops in a glass of water ) I am not sure if it did anything or not but naturopath def would have some remedies to aim at strengthening immune system . You can also try some other stuff like ginger is pretty good and turmeric . I got some tea from trader joes called ginger turmeric and I drink it pretty frequently . For nerve pain - how about some gentl yoga ? Stretching ? I know it is not a cure but maybe it could ease some of the symptoms just a little bit Hope you are doing okay Jerry 04/10 Luvox 25 mg PM, Nortriptyline 1 mg PM 03/08/19: Buspar 2.5 mg AM, 5 mg PM 01/01/19: Xanax 0.125 AM 5 times a week. ShakeyJerr
Yeah, insurance kind of pays for it - I have such a high deductible that I get the insurance "discount" but I still pay the bill. And I am so tired of medical doctors and their medicines. Main thread: http://survivingantidepressants.org/index.php?/topic/14472-shakeyjerr-say-hello/ History: Prozac & Lithium from 1999 to 2003.
