Welp, I’m updosing to 87.5. The anxiety is not subsiding and I have a life to live. Hopefully tomorrow is a better day.

Since this summer I fully reinstated to 1 mg Clonazapam.

I have felt great and decided to knock down the Wellbutrin a bit (I’ve lost ~70 pounds since being prescribed the med, so it’s very likely that even if I still need the med, I am getting WAY too much). So on January 1, 2020, I went from 300 mg xl to 150 mg xl. After about 4 days I had two days where I was slightly more irritable and emotional than normal, but otherwise have felt completely normal in all areas (physically, emotionally, mentally) and am glad that I lowered my dose. The plan is to hold at 150 mg xl until at least March 1 and reassess. Ideally I will drop the med at that time, but am always reevaluating how I feel and how much impact a med drop will have on my family and career. Until then, keep on keeping on!!

All the best-

Although Wellbutrin has the reputation of not needing to be tapered, it does to some extent.  This link provides guidance:

Well, it has been preliminarily determined that I may be having seizures. At first I thought the symptoms were related to my food allergies (lethargy, mental fogginess, confusion), then to low blood sugar but both of those have been conclusively ruled out from a medical standpoint. These “episodes” would increase in frequency every time I would lower my Zoloft and when I attempted to lower my Klonipin. I also began to notice that my eyes were “weird” after each episode. It was discovered that my pupils were dilating unevenly after each episode. So now the working theory is that I may be having seizures. Consequently, I will immediately be discontinuing my Wellbutrin. My jumping off point is 150mg XL. Please wish me luck.

I will update with any medical discoveries as soon as possible but getting into neurology in a timely fashion seems daunting.

Thank you for your support!

A week into dropping Wellbutrin. I feel great. No symptoms of withdrawal.

I was also able to get into neurology in just a few weeks, so perhaps I’ll have some more definitive answers there.

Keep on keeping on.
