March 2019 – May 2019 Lexapro down from 0,6 to 0,3mg then Prozac to 0,6 mg switch because severe discontinuation effects (may also have been from Wellbutrin..) Wellbutrin down from 37,5mg to 35,3mg October 2019 Seroquel 12,5 mg for 4 weeks because of extreme sleeping problems, then weaning off in 2 weeks Prozac up dosage to 1,2 mg March 2020 Wellbutrin in 2 steps down from 35,3mg to 33,3mg Extreme withdrawal effects during 8 months. Stopped tapering Wellbutrin until total off Prozac. February 2020 – November 2020 Prozac down in steps from 1,2mg to 0,57mg. In the beginning I could also safe pieces that I cut from, put them in a closed jar, and gather some pieces that I had saved for a weighing later. According to what I learned from Brassmonkey this will not be stable with Ora Plus. Wellbutrin dissolved in water can be kept for 1 day. Not more. If it would be dissolved in alcohol, you can keep it only for a few days. The question is if using alcohol to dissolve it would be clever, in combination with these drugs.... As soon as water is added to the alcohol or to any other solution, the Wellbutrin shelf life goes back to 1 day again. And guess what the main ingredient of Ora Plus is...... It weighs down to .0001mg (it cost me $600 but worth it for accuracy) At the moment I just cut my 10mg in half but I use a razor to shave some off if the weight is off. I bought a pack of razors at the local hardware store. (one edge is sharp and the other is a blade) I also use surgical tweezers to hold the tablet so I don't cut myself. I do water titration, but my mixture will keep for a few days. I usually keep it for about four days, but I see your meds wouldn’t keep that long if you put them in water. How have you been coping in general? Have you been doing any gardening? When I cut it in half and leave in water overnight the powder basically comes out of the coating part and dissolves ( not completely invisible but like when I did my benzo withdrawal ) in the water and the coating part just floats to the top and I can pick it out . Would I then be able to use that water with the powder in to take 3 times a day like it would be immediate release? Does this seem to be plausible . As described in my many posts above, cutting the pill is the safest way to go. It is right that the Wellbutrin XL pill can be dissolved as you found. My test showed the same, but there is a lot that we do not know yet about making your own liquid from Wellbutrin XL. Any change of form of a drug may change the characteristics and symptoms of a drug! This is another reason better not to change brands or form if not necessary (and only if proven that this can be done without much risk). Other important things and possibilities one should reckon with and be careful with: 1) Most probably the selfmade Wellbutrin liquid will act different than a cut pill, is my thought. The reason is that the cut pill (still) dissolves very slowly in water. The cut pill will most probably also dissolve slowly in our body. If we first would dissolve the pill in water, this solution most probably will act very fast and strong in the body. Much faster than the cut pill. And the solution may give unwanted symptoms therefor.... If one would want to experiment with this, one should be very much aware of this. And one should certainly make a careful crossover then from pill to liquid over a period of at least 2 weeks. Please understand that we do not recommend such an experiment here. As long as we do not have more info about liquid Wellbutrin and its effects and characteristics, cutting the pill is what we recommend here. We are however investigating possibilities for making your own liquid Wellbutrin. If it would be safe, it would be a great way for some members to go, next to cutting the pills. 2) If you would decide to experiment (although we advise strongly against that), please understand that you should cut the XL pill in at least 4 pieces (preferably more), so that it can dissolve faster and better. When you cut the pill in halves only, I noticed that some active ingredient can stay in the shells (even though this hardly can be seen). Also it would be important to do the dissolving process in a dark and cool place (since it takes so many hours to dissolve). And every time before taking a dose (with a syringe) the solution should be stirred very well. Given the probably strong and immediate instant release effect of this solution, you should divide the daily dose over at least 4 daily dosages is my thought. If you hold the pils with one or 2 fingers they stay in place when you cut them. I have never cut my fingers and I have been cutting these pils for more then 4 years already. Given the discussions about making a liquid I still have the opinion that cutting the pills will be much safer. A liquid will problem become a quite extreme form of instant release I expect. Whereas the cut XL version needs quite some time to dissolve (also in the body). So logically seen the cut pills will act much smoother than a liquid form that kicks in immediately. As said before it is very advisable to spread the daily amount over 4 dosages. 1 1993 Anafranil (Clomipramine) for a few months. Later in 1993 Paxil for a few months 1993- 2006 No medication 2006 Effexor, Cymbalta, some Benzo’s. All for short periods. Later in 2006 Lexapro (escitalopram) 10 mg and shortly after Wellbutrin XR 150mg, against side effects Lexapro Since 2006 until end of 2015: Several times on and off Lexapro and Wellbutrin and several slight dosage changes. I have no experience in this, I crush my tablet with and mortar and pestle and then add water, after which I keep it in the fridge for about four days. Yep, I totally understand the freaked out brain, everything becomes so overwhelming when going through withdrawals. When I cut my pills I weighed them but when I cut them up they never split out to that weight again ? Do you just do a whole bunch and then make them work to the weight with different sizes . my pill weighs .189 grams so I tried to get .048 grams for each dosage for the 4 times day but having a herd time from just the one pill ? thanks for any info you can share as always On Prozac 20 mg from 1996 to 2012 started for post partum depression ? I you cut one pill, it is not a problem when 1 piece is a bit bigger than the other one. As long as you get the total daily dosage you need, over the total day.
