Mentor RachelSusan Posted July 16, 2022 Mentor Share Posted July 16, 2022 @Soup I got them every afternoon usually starting at 2:30 or 3:00 p.m. I found it very odd. Luckily for me they only lasted from 30 minutes to an hour. I would get so hot that I would start sweating. People would notice that I looked flush or was sweating and would ask me if I was alright. Fast taper; withdrawal symptoms after 4 mos (didn't realize was WD) -10/07: 100 mg Zoloft; 1 mg Klonopin - tapered off Klonopin after 4 mos. Several unsuccessful slow tapers of Zoloft; went up and down in dose a lot -Spring 2013 back on 1 mg Klonopin to counter WD symptoms; switched over 5-6 mos from Zoloft to 35 mg citalopram-Two attempts at slow tapering citalopram, always increased dose due to WD; also increased Klonopin to 1.25 mg in 2014, then to 1.5 mg in 2015 -8/17-9/17: After holding one year at 20 mg, feeling withdrawal symptoms due to stress - slowly increased to 25 mg. Even if you do not notice any improvements it can be helpful to post about positive things not related to withdrawal. Turning our thoughts to things outside of our body can help to give the brain a rest which helps to reduce stress and aids recovery. Some examples of things that can help get your focus off yourself and your suffering: I went outside and the sun felt warm, or I noticed that some birds were singing. Or post about whether there are clouds in the sky or whether it is windy or still. I'm in Australia and it is winter here. Post about what the temperature is like where you are. What about the garden, are the flowers blooming? And also start posting about the what you have done or noticed that is not focused on how bad you are feeling. For example, I had a shower and the cool/warm/hot water felt nice on my back. It doesn't have to be major things. Lots of little things add up. Sometimes we have to make a concerted effort to notice them. Doing relaxation and calming exercises and gentle exercising like walking or pilates, on a regular basis can help to reduce the impact of stress on your body (whether internal or external). With the relaxation I think it is better to do short periods of it throughout the day, regardless of whether you feel you need to do it. Think of it like an old fashioned kettle on stove, the sort with the whistle. If you keep turning the heat on and off the whistle will never blow because the steam won't build up. Relaxation techniques work in a similar way. 1 Please DO NOT TAG me - thank you PLEASE NOTE: I am not a medical professional. I provide information and make suggestions. Soup
@wantrelief thank you for your kind words . Yea it was tough being in an alternate world especially since last year this time I was off on a beach holiday and doing pretty good ( no DR/DP or brain fog which was so nice ) now I feel disabled . It’s funny I go to sleep ( what little I get ) every night and say my affirmations and my wee prayers for a better day like I think something will actually change overnight 🤷♀️ Silly me . I hope your day is a little bit better and brighter ❤️ On Prozac 20 mg from 1996 to 2012 started for post partum depression ? wantrelief
Oh @Soup I relate to everything you wrote. It sounds like we are in the same Groundhog's Day state. And I always describe how I am feeling as an "alternate world" too! However, our brains have shown us they know how to get to a better place so shall again. It is just so hard waiting for it to happen....but it will. -1/06 - 3/07 Cymbalta. No change in symptoms after 6 months (? tolerance ?) - decided to start citalopram taper February 2018 (still on Klonopin 1.5 mg). I see great things for you as you get off Thanks so much, Soup.....I really appreciate your kind thoughts. I know how hard it is to hold but it makes sense in your situation. I am just so sorry you are in this position after working so hard to come off of Lexapro and Klonopin - that is an amazing accomplishment. You healed before so you will again and then you will be able to start your Wellbutrin taper. Sending you lots of healing hugs back! 1 -1/06 - 3/07 Cymbalta.
