I would have like to slept at least until 9am. I'm still sleepy.   I  also still have burred vision but not as first onset. Still very Mild heat in body.

I don’t know a lot about melatonin. But I’ve been told that more is not better.

It might help to take less, you can only try.

Sounds like you’re doing ok overall though. That’s good news.

Take care,

Use search to find out what people say about acupuncture. Re-read this topic to see our discussions about it.

I get frustrated when people ask the same question over and over or don't look around to answer their own questions.

You might find withdrawal groups on Facebook more to your liking.

Did decrease my melatonin from 1.5mg last night to 0.75, feel asleep fast.  I woke at 8:09am this morning, no flushing of heat in my back. But it'comes in a little now and then much better than when I was on the highest melatonin at 2.5mg

I will buy a 1mg of melatonin to decrease the 1mg in half for tonight to see if I will continue to sleep and continue to help with any heat. The brand that I'm now using do not have 1mg.

I'm on my 3rd week of my taper at 10% reduction, moving forward after I reach a month by next week,  I don't know what to expect  I do still have a slight burred vision, Thursday I see my eye Dr.

I had this appointment before the corona hit.
I will see what he sees.

I am so happy I am on this journey, my only regret is that I wish I had stayed the course in 2017. As I get that out my system no looking back.
Thanks guys.

Coming along forgie,  the .75mg brand of melatonin  I took yesterday was not good, it was horrible woke up with a headache, I went out yesterday morning to look for the brand that works good for me in 1mg, they don't have it in any drug stores, I saw it in amazon, I went Vitamin Shoppe yesterday,  they don't have it in the store, but ordered it for me. Getting it Monday.

I took a 1.5mg last night of the brand I like, I was having hell falling asleep, but I do not let it comsume me or do I think about it, it's like, ok.

It was 91 degrees today, had 2 appts, the hot weather every summer make me very fatigue, after those 2 appts, I AM exhausted.
I will cut the melatonin and hope it cut right so sleep won't be difficult.

I Saw my orthopedic doctor today, he recommended therapy, x-ray show inflammation

I will start therapy next week for my hip pain.

HI frogie,

the past 2 nights even thou I take my trazodone 507mg at the right time each night at 1:00am I stayed up on my computer till 2:00am those 2 night.  the first night I had hell falling asleep, I immediately thought it was my  melatonin, but I did the same thing last night staying up to 2 a.m. again on my computer and the same thing happened I had hell falling asleep, only to fell out around 4:00am and waking up late in the afternoon, with brain fog and feeling weak today,

Yesterday I was better than today, so now I know I have to go to bed  right after I take my sleeping pill at 1am like I've been going to bed each night  for years on this sleeping pill

Tonight I will get back to be going to bed at the right time  1am like before and I hope it correct my ability to fall asleep in it right manner. Hope everything is going good with you. Take care in these very hot spells. I resting all day today, My AC is on to keep my body and me cool.

You do need to have a regular sleep schedule. That helps me a lot.

I try not to be on a computer for a couple of hours before bed as they say it can keep you awake.

My sleep is not the best. I sleep sometimes only 2-3 hours a night and I’m lucky if I sleep 6 hours a night. I wouldn’t freak out about broken sleep. It is normal in wd to have sleepless nights. I had them a lot when I tapered off Lexapro.

I would try your melatonin a couple hours before bed, then take your other meds and try to go to bed. You could listen to some white noise or there’s an app called Calm that I listen to sometimes.

Hope that helps!

Frogie xx

Salutation Sir,

My question to you is at the 10% that I'm on, and would prefer staying at 10% is it weired to hold for 2 more weeks making it 1 month and 2 weeks.

My fear of moving to my next taper is real, especially when you have no one home with you and you're all alone. Thanks.   I tried looking for the link to read of holding, I didn't had any luck.

I have stayed on my first month of taper at the 10% coming next week of my trazodone which is a very big deal to me cause of all the fear I had since 2017, and 2019 and I'm doing it finally in 2020.

You have been there for me but I had to have wanted it, THANK YOU for any helped you tried to gave me those 2 years ago, At this Junction  there is no turning back and I'm glad I'm ready and doing it,   BRASSMONKEY I APPRECIATE YOU.

I stayed at the 10% at  507mg for the 2-3 weeks for stabilisation that by experience you know its best to do. I'm more now stable than 2 weeks in my taper. Your knowledge from your experience is something to be admired and I'm so comfortable with your thoughts on steps to move forward with.

When I started after I return here in 2020, at the end in 2019 my trazodone was running low, I panic and I did not know where to turn,  In 2020, my friend at my Pharmacy on the low let me buy my brand of trazodone, I love him soooo much.

I was then able to come back this June in 2020 and continue doing my powder, but I wanted to start at 10% to get things moving.  Frogie is also a god sent.
she's helping me with how much to reduce by 10%.  I very grateful for your know how  and her helping with reduction of taper, Math is not my best suite.

If at anytime the 10% gets bad where I begin to experience hiccups [WD]  that would not stable out, I will look at your table of  you reduction of 5% and back slide.

Hi Street-- having those extra two (2) is very important. Even with your body settling down between the small reductions each week there is still some unfinished business it has to do to stabilize. You may not feel it, but it's there.  Those extra two weeks are for that stability to happen.  We've had several members try to skip then and they have always ended up with really bad waves because of it.

Let's see how the 10% works for a while, if there are bad problems then we can readjust to 5%.

I'm so glad you were able to get some good sleep, it really helps.

20 years on Paxil starting at 20mg and working up to 40mg. Sept 2011 started 10% every 6 weeks taper (2.5% every week for 4 weeks then hold for 2 additional weeks), currently at 7.9mg. Oct 2011 CTed 15oz vodka a night, to only drinking 2 beers most nights, totally sober Feb 2013.

Since I wrote this I have continued to decrease my dose by 10% every 6 weeks (2.5% every week for 4 weeks and then hold for an additional 2 weeks). I added in an extra 6 week hold when I hit 10mg to let things settle out even more. When I hit 3mgpw it became hard to split the drop into 4 parts so I switched to dropping 1mgpw (pill weight) every week for 3 weeks and then holding for another 3 weeks.  The 3 + 3 schedule turned out to be too harsh so I cut back to dropping 1mgpw every 4 weeks which is working better.

Current dose 0.000mg 04-15-2017

@Frogie

Hi frogie, so far I'm hanging in there, yesterday I finally got my 1mg melatonin and last night I cut it in half  of .50, I cut that .50mg to get the lowest at .25mg, which didn't come out even, but hey I took the .25mg at 11pm,

Right after, I notice last night I was oh so sleepy that I fell out with tv and computer on for couple minutes, even thou it was not time to take my sleeping pill,

so what I'm trying to say, that turning off tv and computer hours before bed when on sleeping meds sound like is a myth to me.

I also has change the type of food I'm eating, so far I cut out processed food, and see how my body gonna react to not getting it, I was not a person that did not like vegetable but I'm slowly incorporating it into my diet again, i made shredded squash, and other vegetable to my meal, I also had fish. I have physical therapy tomorrow and it's gonna be raining, with 82 degrees, good weather.

I hope your taper is  going good.
Have a great evening

The idea is to turn them off so that your body starts to get back it's normal circadian rhythm.

HI frogie my friend

I got my 1mg  melatonin, I take .25mg  of it each night, at 11pm one and a half hour before bed,

OMG, my goodness I don't know if this is good or bad, cause within taken it,  I be fighting to stay awake because it's not time for my trazodone 507mg,

it's a struggle to be up for the pass 3 days after taking the .25mg melatonin.

The melatonin that I find thats  very, very good that don't gave me any effect is BY NATROL.

I'm having a tender right ear, pain in the inter lope, FOR 4 DAYS straight, I don't thing this is WD,  but I went urgent care, Dr. claim its red on the inside but not much of anything else, she did gave me the corona test which I didn't asked for,  3rd one by the way, I had the anti body test before also, all were negative.

I was given ear drops for 7 days and was told to see ENT.

I have hit one whole month today 7/12/20 on beginning of my taper that for  3 years feared beginning, so this is a big deal for me, frogie I appreciate you for letting me know I can do this and  it's has a lot to do with YOU.

I'm doing 2 more weeks at my first taper of trazodone 507mg, I'm pushing on,  let's go.

Hope you're doing good

Enjoy the rest of the weekend

Today it's crazy hot going up to 92 degrees

Sounds like the melatonin must be helping. That’s great. It could be your body is getting used to the tapering also.  I took melatonin twice and woke with a headache both mornings so I haven’t tried it again. I hope it continues to help you.

I’m sorry to hear about your ear, but thankfully it wasn’t infected. Maybe you have allergies? I have allergies terrible and sometimes my ear will hurt and feel full. At least you weren’t put on an antibiotic. That’s always a good thing.

You’ve made it a month! Congratulations! You’re going to do fine. You can hold a couple more weeks without any problems and if you feel ready I can give you a new number to taper to. If you need to hold longer you can also. It’s up to your body and how you feel.

I’m doing ok. We had a good weekend. Just went to the store, for a ride in the mountains. Then I did some cleaning and laundry. It’s going to be 97 again today with no rain in sight. Boy I’d love a nice shower to cool it off and water the grass.

Sounds like you’re doing well. I’m very happy for you.

I went to bed a tad bit later than usual to see if and how long would I fall asleep, it wasn't to bad cause I fell asleep not right away, but I did,

I did this to prove to myself I can stay up a little later, but as long as I take my pill the same time every night I hope an half hour up won't stop me from falling asleep, cause as it gets closer to bedtime something on the internet alway get my interest.

I hope anxiety don't set in when it's time to do the next taper, just thinking about it right now is a little fearful cause I don't know what I'm gonna feel, oh boy.

I'm glad your coming along in your taper and enjoying life as best as you can.

I do feel ok, I don't want to get hype and next thing you know I start to feel sick, so far I'm ok for now, next week will be a month and 2 weeks at my first taper, one more week to go then on to my second taper with the help from Ms. Frogie.

Last night I cut the .25mg melatonin to .12mg as much of that tiny piece as I can, I thought I would have trouble falling asleep. I didnt, infact after I took the .12mg of melatonin  at 11pm,  I once again got very sleepy and was fighting to stay awake, I got up went to my window and got some breeze in my face, it was really cool and breezy last night.

I will be ready for my new second taper starting Sunday 7/26/20, so any where in between the week july 19-25 at your free will and final taper at 507, feel free to go ahead with my number of my 2ND taper. I thank you for every assistant that you're helping me with,  My math is horrible, lol
