Hi, I updosed last night to 81mg, with your knowledge I just need to know sinse I updose, should I stay on 81mg since I'm experiencing the same WD or decrease back down to 77mg and continue to hold there,

the heat in my back/leg calms down on and off still,  if you advise me to stay at 81mg I'm willing to follow all of your advises.  As I updose to see what gaves.

I'm willing to hold for a good time at any mg that you say is best. Oncei get my thoughts back in-SYNC I will do my notes.

It takes about 4 days for a dose to get to full level in the blood and a bit longer for it to register in the brain.  Sometimes you can start to feel some improvement in the WD symptoms in one or two days, but sometimes it can take longer.

So it would probably be best to wait at least 1 week and see how things are after than.  If there has been a bit of improvement then wait another week before deciding on whether to change the dose.  If there has been no improvement after 1 week then your situation can be reassessed.

Remember to keep your own notes please!

MMT might be thinking differently though.

Yes.  This is fine street129.  I'd stay on the 81 mg for now.

We don't expect the updose, to take away all symptoms immediately or completely.

After reinstating or updosing, how long to stabilize?

And then here's something brassmonkey wrote about stability.  Stability

And in this one, there is more, from Alto, around reinstating and stabilizing.  The principles are the same when one updoses.:

About reinstating and stabilizing to reduce withdrawal symptoms

And so much nicer, and easier for us to see what is going on, street, if you can try some more Notes/symptom logs.

You were getting the hang of that.  Post some positives on the right too.  Coping that you did, that helped with symptoms.  Or good news that you heard.

As I think on my question pertaiming to a daily pattern, I get random days of symptoms at different times.  Example:  I could get a headache in morning but the next day I would not get a headache. I would get others, like shaking, nauseous, blurred vision, as of now no shaking, heat leg/back, blurred vision, fatigue,

I'm trying hard to understand my role in helping myself in my taper. Sorry for any misunderstanding on my part of the site. It a while for me to get things.

Beginning my taper I started at a wrong dose, at 90mg, instead of 250mg, I take all responsibility going forward,  what would your recommendation going forward on my situation which I highly appreciates.

I have updose 3days ago at 81mg with no stability as yet Or do I need to get back at my original dose. Your expertise would help me a great deal moving forward. I Will do my notes later tonight or tomorrow.

@manymoretodays

It's 4:34am and the new updose 81mg and all it symptoms just woke me, stronge heat in back than previous days, headache, brain fog, shaking, nauseous at this dose all symptoms feels as my previous dose in the beginning when starting at 77mg.

I'm a bit sadden by not feeling any better, instead I'm feeling my originals symptoms at this new updose. I take all responsibilities for my up or down doses. I just need a little guidance.

I believe I had a tiny window in my 3rd week at 77mg
I did started to sleep longer till  8:00am and 8:15am in my 3rd weeks and the heat in my back had gotten to a lesser degree.
it will be 1 week at 81mg tomorrow.

The updose at 81mg has increase my symptoms, is holding or decrease back to 77mg is it wise?

I took .5mg melotonin at 5:45am

Your/all wise words are comforting.

I only would like to know which is best moving forward.

hi @ChessieCat

One week on the new updose, 81mg all of my symptoms came full blazing today, first 5 days was bad but today is very, very bad, I'm sobbing a little because I updosed and it's like a carbon copy of the lower dose at 77mg. I'm so alone in these trails and errors.

I been reading up on a lot of different links, my latest one so far ''reinstating and stabilizing to reduce withdrawal symptom''

. The 3rd week on 77mg I had felt a window, it went away as it came wasn't sure what it was thou. Then I had updose to 81mg.  staying or decreasing my dose, I have find that updose has not benefit me as the 1 week has shown. Now should I decrease back down to 77mg. I don't want to increase. I don't want to keep confusing my nervous system either.   Your opinion is comforting.

As I read brassmonkeys links on reinstating a dose; it all speaks to me, and I gets it.  It takes a while for me to get things, and when I do I get it for good.

I'm reading more links that you send me that would be hard to find on my own. You are a caring human being with a natural gift that shows.  I know you're helping many and sharing your gift.   if I haven't said it.  Thank-you

"QUOTE'' Once the drug reaches steady state in the bloodstream, after a Dose Change Event, the body's initial reaction is to get confused.  It can take a couple of days after the Dose Change Event for that confusion to manifest itself as symptoms and is a sign that the system needs time to adjust to the change.  There may be a period just after a dose change event during which the body either doesn’t notice the change or will feel better because of it.  Many people report their symptoms ramping up between two and five days after the change, but it’s not uncommon for it to take several weeks for them to appear. @ChessieCat

As I'm looking at my signature this morning,   The first week in September 2020  Is when I started to feel heat-in my back/leg as it called the beginning of my Wd.

starting dose of trazodone 250mg

6/16/20  90 mgai    7/26/20  81 mgai    9/6/20  72 mg ai   10/17/20- updose to 77 mgai

11/11/20- updose to 81 mgai

I've been reading  Lots of old posts from members that had wd and returned to their original dose 4-5 month after with good results. That is encouraging me to want to try going back to original dose to see if WD ceases, since it's only 2 month within my wd, from september, which is October and now november,  I just might still  have a chance in getting out of Wd mainly this heat.  I get excited just thinking on it/ a rush.
I read altos intro saying it's ok going back a month period also.

I lay here daily with constance unbearable heat. I can tolerate the other symptoms.   I also remember when I tried in 2017 and got this same heat and I returned to my original dose within 3 months everything went away immediately all symptoms. See signature.
If there's a bad side to this, can you explained so I can understand why it's not wise to do, And I will get it. and would continue to hold at the 81mg that I'm at now.

I wish I had never messes up my dose when I started my taper at 250mg.  I would at least like to try.

Can you respond to me please, even if it's just to  curse me-out.
I become jealous when other new members are getting answers to their questions.

Am I giving off the wrong vibes, I'm I scaring anyone.   I'm the most caring for others and would give my shirt to anyone off my back.I love people,  I'm the most sweetest, love able person,  I help and do whatever I can for the homeless, and I try to put smiles on people's faces that I encounter, people always tell me I make their day,  even while going through my WD and the pandemic.

I mean no harm to anyone. Just love understanding. If you don't feel it's in your best interest not to reply, it's fine.

When I started inboxing most moderators I believe that doing so was the true and only way one can get the attention of such person, by sending a question looking back now I see that was not the way to go, but I didn't know, I thought it was like Facebook and the the sites. I didn't understand how you all were seeing all the posts that were posted by members.  The explaination that you gave was when I understand that moderators can actually see all members posts.

I Have physical therapy at 1pm have a torn miniscus in the hip.
I fell 3 times in the streets within 2019-2020, people called ambulance for one fall in 2020.

5:25am woke no heat in back/leg fell back to sleep

7.00am woke with heat-back/leg,  no headache, no shaking, not nauseous, just laying quietly

11;30am lite breakfast

at 1:00pm  physical therapy for a torn miniscus in the Hip

I got an inbox today from a member, I don't even know how to find their intro to post,  for me I'm not inboxing anyone. lol.

conversating it's like therapy for me to help you not think on WD

Have a great day and a better day tomorrow

Hi street129,

So, a week into the updose to 81 mg now.

No, you are not giving off wrong vibes.

We do tend to go through recent posts in Introductions, when we are here.  I don't always respond to everyone.   When new members arrive, we try and jump in, and get them started, as soon as possible.

And that's nice street129, that you are reaching out to support other members now too.  No worries, okay?

And oh street, you fell in the streets?  I am glad to hear that you are getting physical therapy to strengthen your hip area now.  Are you using a cane or walker?  That might not be a bad idea, to prevent further fall?  What do your physical therapists think?

"QUOTE'' Once the drug reaches steady state in the bloodstream, after a Dose Change Event, the body's initial reaction is to get confused.  It can take a couple of days after the Dose Change Event for that confusion to manifest itself as symptoms and is a sign that the system needs time to adjust to the change.  There may be a period just after a dose change event during which the body either doesn’t notice the change or will feel better because of it.  Many people report their symptoms ramping up between two and five days after the change, but it’s not uncommon for it to take several weeks for them to appear. ''UNQUOTE''

I'm glad you are reading more, and thank you for the compliment.  I did not quote all of the ^ post, just the part I wanted to talk about.

Your dose change event was an updose.  And sometimes, with updoses it can take several weeks for things to seem improved.

Has anything improved at all yet?  And again, we're not expecting everything to be wonderful and great, great........just a gradual improvement would be nice.

And I like this NOTE that you posted here: https://www.survivingantidepressants.org/topic/15663-street129-hi/?do=findComment&comment=510512

You got just about the whole 24 hours in.

Are you referring to the massive heat, and shaking when you said same symptoms as those in the early morning?

And then it looks like you may have had to sleep from 5 or 6 am until after noon that day?

Can you sleep in the rocker, street?

Have you found anything that helps with the "massive heat" symptom?

Do continue to note coping skills that help in your notes too.

That might keep you more in the positive.

And it looks like the 0.5 mg melatonin helped, that morning.  I might try it at bedtime.  It works best, when the lights are off and you are all set to go, with sleeping.

Let's have you study more on the sleep hygiene too.  And try some new things.

I know that may not relieve the "massive heat" symptom and shaking, but if you could manage more solid sleep it may help all around.

Tips to help sleep: so many of us have that awful withdrawal insomnia

Read some of the members experiences and what helped below the indexed list to more sleep helps.

Music for self-care: calms hyperalertness, anxiety, aids relaxation and sleep

^ this might give you some good ideas for staying calm in the night

And this one too, might help, Shep put this together:  Music therapy/music for wellness and healing

I mentioned earlier to try to stay off the computer or even watching t.v. too late(screens)

You are doing good with the melatonin, I think.
Take a look at this one:  Early morning waking- managing the morning cortisol spike

That's probably plenty.  B)😻

street, you are experiencing what so many of us do, during withdrawal.  And my fingers are crossed, and I'm cheering you on, and hopeful, that you will start to see some improvements real soon, on the 81 mg dose of trazodone.

Best, L, P, H, and G,

11/25/20

HI. I took a tiny cut of magnisium glycinate yesterday around 6:30 PM since I read on the site that its one of the ok supplement to take.  It was 400mg, but I cute in 4 to get 100mg each, I cute one in half to make 50mg I took that, immediately I felt sick.

11/25/20   I woke around 8:30am this morning with more burning, weak, a headache, tummy ache, fatigue, nauseous, blurred vision and feeling awful.

Before I took  the magnisium I didn't had most of the above symptoms just manageable burning,   blurred vision off and on,   fatigue off and on.

I also said in the pass, when I used to take pressure pills or high cholesterol pills it was never on a daily basis, it was always a day here a day there never consistent. I stop completely taking any kind of pills once I began to taper on  06/16/20.

I will cease taking the  magnesium glycinate so it can get out my system.  It doesn't help me.
I'm just feeling horrible and I can't go for physical therapy today. I'm Bedridden today.

I will keep you updated

Be well

@Sunnysideup

hi, I'm street,

I've been following your posts, I'm not new but stuck in WD for the second time, first time went back to original dose and was out of wd, I returned this year and having the same  problem, I want to go back to my original does again, but I don't know if at this junction if it's to far months ahead, and I'm scared. wd started showing up in early september, I started taper in June at wrong dose but I didn't know, but I know now. you said a member been holding 15 months, wow

I need to follow her and get excited for her moving forward with her taper.

Be well

Hi again, @street129. Posted you yesterday, see above.

Just wanted to say the 'member who has been holding for 15 months' is me 😊. Soon to be 16 months.

I did a cold switch back in 2018 against all advice and lived to regret it......I was all over the place for a while. My poor brain......

However, lots of healing has happened since then. I'm currently hanging in there, still have waves but they are mild to the occasional moderate one here and there.

The worst thing for me is still sleep, but I must confess I struggle with sleep hygiene and sticking to a bedtime routine.

Good to meet you 😊

Hi street,

And sorry that the magnesium did not agree with you.  Sometimes that happens.  I remember about your other medications too.

Usually, or at best it is calming and relaxing, or that's what I found.

It's possible it might help later but I'd stay off it for now.  And if you want to try it again later, start with an even lower dose.

I hope it didn't cost too much.

Have you thought about using Omega 3's or Fish Oil.  I can leave you the link.  And again, start low, go slow.  I think it's good for the nervous system in general, and also benefits the heart too.

I am so hoping that you improved since last Wednesday and were able to get some physical therapy in this week, as well as have a nice meal on Thanksgiving.

Update soon, okay?

Hi street129,

I think if I were you, I would just HOLD steady now, with your present dose of mirtazapine trazodone.

And get on in to see the dermatologist too.  Let us know what they say, okay?

I don't mind waking early, as long as I have managed to get to sleep fairly early too.  It's a nice quiet time before dawn.

What usually helps when you are feeling so off?  Can you eat a little bit of bland food, or get some fluids in during the nauseau?  Have you ever found meditation, or prayer to help?  So many nice guided meditations to do on youtube now.  And I think I might have given you a link to finding some of the ones linked to here.  You can always go back in posts, to find those with suggestions, and links.  Or just go to youtube and type in guided meditation and see what you prefer.

Do you have a tub, a bath tub?  If so, you could try a soak and see if that helps with the discomfort of heat in your back.  Or even use the shower.  Water is so very healing sometimes.

Fingers crossed for you street129, that you feel rested very soon.  And sickness becomes a thing of the past.

HI Sir

I would like to just ask you for your impute.

 I started at 90mg I've been holding at 81mg from 11/11/20- present.

On 10/17/20 I updose to 77mg of trazodone from 72mg  and around 11/9/20 I was starting to sleep from 5:00am to around 7am- 8:00am with symptoms, heat in skin. Nausea, fatigue, shaking, blurred Vision.  The heat in skin would be very minimum not noticeable, but it was there. I didn't know if that was improvement cause it would be noticeable again and I wanted to updose to 81mg which I did on 11/11/20.

Couple days into 81mg  i've been waking up at 4:30am, a few times at 5:00am but now I'm waking up to a steady 4:00am clockwise with all symptoms Nausea, headache, fatigue, heat in skin, and shaking.
The shaking subside, the headache subside, and the nausea subside, but symptoms repeat itself the next day. except for blurred vision on 81mg over time that got better.

I might be looking for a little reassurance on to keep holding.

A day or two before I updose to 81mg from  77mg there were longer sleep and mild heat and minimum symptoms.

I'm not getting enough sleep between-3-4 hours nightly and it's affecting me, my pill I take for sleep. I don't know if to add .5mg of melatonin.

I maybe just want/need your re-assurance. Thanks.

I'm emotional at this point but I'm being cool and not acting in fear.

This is your expertise, any impute you can share.

Hi Street-- keeping cool and not acting out of fear is the best way to handle things, Keep it up.

It may not seem like enough, but getting several hours of sleep a night is a good thing too. Insomnia is just one of those symptoms that we have to deal with as best as we can until it clears up and goes away.

Right now and until into the new year it would be a good idea just to hold where you are and let your body get use to it. The symptoms that you describe sound pretty "normal" and are nothing to worry about, they will settle down as your body stabilizes. The symptoms subsiding over the course of the day is a good sign that things are slowly improving. It may feel disappointing that they show up again the next day, but then they settle down again too. It's a long, slow and often frustrating process, but you're getting a good start on it.  Now you need to "let it happen", which it will.

Removed references to mirtazapine

20 years on Paxil starting at 20mg and working up to 40mg. Sept 2011 started 10% every 6 weeks taper (2.5% every week for 4 weeks then hold for 2 additional weeks), currently at 7.9mg. Oct 2011 CTed 15oz vodka a night, to only drinking 2 beers most nights, totally sober Feb 2013.

Since I wrote this I have continued to decrease my dose by 10% every 6 weeks (2.5% every week for 4 weeks and then hold for an additional 2 weeks). I added in an extra 6 week hold when I hit 10mg to let things settle out even more. When I hit 3mgpw it became hard to split the drop into 4 parts so I switched to dropping 1mgpw (pill weight) every week for 3 weeks and then holding for another 3 weeks.  The 3 + 3 schedule turned out to be too harsh so I cut back to dropping 1mgpw every 4 weeks which is working better.

Final Dose 0.016mg.     Current dose 0.000mg 04-15-2017

Sorry Street, My Bad. I've been working with several others who are taking Mirtz and got my drugs mixed up. Please ignore the first paragraph about the insomnia. Let me look back through your recent posts and get a feel for what is going on. I can see that MMT is recommending a nice long hold so I will have to second that.

I'm going to edit my post to remove the confusing information.

Hi just need to gave an update to you.

I just woke 2 hours after going to bed at 12:00 a.m on my pill trazodone at 81mg,  my sleep tonight and yesterday drop from 4 hours down to 2.  Is losing sleep after 5 months in tapering is that normal?  I'm gonna take .5mg melatonin and hope to fall back to sleep.

Warm in skin is present more than before with other symptoms, blurred vision, fatigue, and mild headache on and off, no nauseous, no shaking

The 81mg from the huge miss dose of 150mg is very challenging.

Can updosing to 10% of 81mg which would be the current dose of 90mg that i began tapering  in June 2020, would that help me along cause my sleep is now very minimum, and after being awake after 2 hours, I'm still very much awake.

I don't know what 10% of 81mg would be, is it 507?
507 in weight is what I started tapering from, I'm looking for improvement, reassurance, help, and positivity.

Can I have your thoughts, I been hanging in there every step of the way.

Appreciate your thoughts and advice going forward.

Just a quick thought, when things in my taper is not going well, I panic and always need a push from in panic mode to hear from you to stay the course.

I have never in my life thought I need reassurance from people because I have never needed anyone in my earlier life.
This situation has make me realize we do need people once in a while. An eye opener.

Hi street129,

Yup.  We all need support and people once in a while.

Stay the course dear street129, stay the course.

Did you get to the doctor yet for your back?  I think it was a dermatologist or skin doctor?

Did you manage to get back to sleep, or a better nights sleep since your first post to me?

With just the 2 nights of interrupted sleep, I would not panic yet, and think that you have to updose further.

Is or was there anything else going on that might have affected your sleep that night.  Increased worries about something, or the intake of something food or drink wise that you had not had on a regular basis?

It does seem like during and around the holidays, more people just get stressed too.  So keep that in mind.  How is your daughter coming along?  When is the new baby due?

Best, L, P, H, and G,

@manymoretodays

I was consuming coffee for several days but I stop, that could have been affected my sleep.

My daughter had her daughter at 36 weeks on November 28, 2020. Daughter husband an baby are doing well. We are not seeing each other after first meeting of seeing her. She's home and still developing, all 3 stayed in hospital for a week, this Saturday, 12/12/20 she will be 2 weeks old.

Today is Friday and woke 5 hours for couple days.  Fell asleep going on 1:00a.m. last night.

Uncertainties are raising its ugly head and good days unreachable. Quite a bit of shaking this morning and I'm having restlessness, fatigue, heat, mini headache and trying not to show some fear.  The heat sensation is staying on skin longer than months back it's scarey. What can I do.

I saw dermatologist, next step is to get sonogram and then she will see what's next.
