Moderator Emeritus Jemima Posted January 4, 2012 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted January 4, 2012 Here's an article from Dr. Jim Mercola's website that will make your hair stand on end faster and better than any Stephen King novel: http://tinyurl.com/Big-Pharma-Big-Crooks I live near Merck and I can tell you they also spread their crimes locally, such as dumping toxic waste into a creek where people fish and kids play. I detest them. Psychotropic drug history: Pristiq 50 mg. (mid-September 2010 through February 2011), Remeron (mid-September 2010 through January 2011), Lexapro 10 mg. (mid-February 2011 through mid-December 2011), Lorazepam (Ativan) 1 mg. as needed mid-September 2010 through early March 2012"Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity." -Hanlon's RazorIntroduction: http://survivingantidepressants.org/index.php?/topic/1588-introducing-jemima/ Success Story: http://survivingantidepressants.org/index.php?/topic/6263-success-jemima-survives-lexapro-and-dr-dickhead-too/Please note that I am not a medical professional and my advice is based on personal experience, reading, and anecdotal information posted by other sufferers. Whatever
Merck in NJ? My Sister-In-Law has worked there for 30 years. She was the R&D Manager of Vioxx. Google it if you are unfamiliar with the lawsuits which got it banned. She admits she was encouraged to skew research. She was removed from R&D and works in the Merck legal department now. Maybe her job is safe because they don't want her to tell all. Her opinion on prescriptions drugs: "don't take them". Withdrew cold turkey from six medications: Celexa, Zyprexa, Depakote, Ativan, Ambien and Phentermine in 2002. It has been 10 years since I told polypharmacy to take a hike and have joined this forum to let others know that success is possible and to hopefully save people from experiencing the suffering that I did under psychiatric "care". Administrator Altostrata Posted January 4, 2012 Administrator Share Posted January 4, 2012 Wow, Whatever! I'll bet they're keeping all the Vioxx team very happy. Rule of thumb: Never take a drug that's advertised on television. From Mercola: In fact, the drug industry now tops all other industries in the total amount of fraud payments for actions against the federal government under the False Claims Act.!!!!!!! Employees have told me that this is where executive HQ is located. I'm quite familiar with the Vioxx scandal, in fact I had a prescription for the drug following a back injury. I didn't think it was any more effective than aspirin and quit taking it after two or three weeks. WHEW!!! The latest hoo-ha seems to be centered around Fosamax, which is now proving to have very serious consequences for people who've taken it for more than five years: http://tinyurl.com/ABC-Reports-on-Fosamax-Dangers http://www.lawyersandsettlements.com/case/fosamax.html This just sickens me. I've read quite a bit about how Merck first came up with the drug and then reinvented Osteopenia as a medical problem, when it's merely normal thinning of the bones as one gets older. All they care for is money and lots of it. Psychotropic drug history: Pristiq 50 mg. (mid-September 2010 through February 2011), Remeron (mid-September 2010 through January 2011), Lexapro 10 mg. Whatever
And Medco, one of the sleaziest pharmaceutical benefit managers in the industry was a child of Merck until they parted ways in 2003. As I understand it, Medco bases it's corporate policies on Merck's to this day. I worked briefly at Medco a few years ago and the way it's treats it's employees, the formula that is used to decide promotions is deplorable. I have worked in big corporate for many years and have seen many examples of employee exploitation, but Medco was the worst. worse. Barbarannamated
They calculate reserves to set aside in the 'for future lawsuits' account while they proceed with illegal activity to generate as much profit as possible until lawsuit happens --off-label marketing is prime example Pristiq tapered over 8 months ending Spring 2011 after 18 years of polydrugging that began w/Zoloft for fatigue/general malaise (not mood). CURRENT: 1mg Klonopin qhs (SSRI bruxism), 75mg trazodone qhs, various hormonesLitigation for 11 years for Work-related injury, settled 2004. Involuntary medical retirement in 2001 (age 39). 2012 - brain MRI showing diffuse, chronic cerebrovascular damage/demyelination possibly vasculitis/cerebritis. Dx w/autoimmune polyendocrine failure.<p>2013 - Dx w/CNS Sjogren's Lupus (FANA antibodies first appeared in 1997 but missed by doc).
