Hi Hibari,

it was suggested I join this group to chat with you regarding remeron and lamictal withdrawal!

I went off of Remeron seven weeks ago and have been on it for six years. I've also been on the lamictal for six years.  Because I'm in menopause  and my mood is so bad, I was talked into putting on an estrogen patch. I believe now that it decreased my Lamictal  by half. What I was thinking was Remeron withdrawal, is now I realize is Lamictal withdrawal. Very very disoriented, confused, could not put a sentence together, my eyes were not tracking,  and going through serious crying issues, suicidal, and could not get out of bed because the fatigue was horrible. I also got a mini stroke from the estrogen patch so I've had it off for four weeks.  So it's been four weeks where my brain is trying to figure out what is what. I've had serious brain issues in the past to do an illness so my brain is completely sensitive.  I don't know if I'm on too much Lamictal now-bring that I dint gave mirtazapine to mask it-or too  little- but I'm scared to ever go off or tamper with this drug again.

The headaches and nausea and brain fog and disorientation and confusion and not being able to put a sentence together his mind blowing.

Waking up with hot flashes and anxiety and feel hungover.

Thought you'd be good to chat with!!!

Thx!

Hi Dianaberg,

Wow, you are the first person I've met on this site who is doing the same combination that I was plus the estrogen patch.

Congratulations on getting off of Remeron, it's a very powerful medication and it takes a lot to energy to taper.

I too wake up with hot flashes, nausea and some anxiety.   Even though some of it might have been from stopping the estrogen, I really believe most of it now is from wd.  I asked a many people on this site about hot flashes and both men and women have them during wd.   My tapering of Lamictal has caused headaches, balance issues, dizziness, fuzzy eyesight, memory issues and lots of crying.

I cried a lot during my  Remeron withdrawal but did not have the headaches or nausea that I have withdrawing from Lamictal.

It sounds like you need some time to stabilize from getting off of Remeron.  7 weeks is an accomplishment and also early yet.   You don't have to do anything else right now if you feel you don't want to.

What dosages were and are you on now?  And how can I support you?

 •    Please leave out symptoms and diagnoses.
 •    A list is easier to understand than one or multiple paragraphs.
 •    Any drugs prior to 24 months ago can just be listed with start and stop years.
 •    Please use actual dates or approximate dates (mid-June, Late October) rather than relative time frames (last week, 3 months ago)
 •    Spell out months, e.g. "October" or "Oct."; 9/1/2016 can be interpreted as Jan. 9, 2016 or Sept. 1, 2016.

To get you started, and familiarized with the protocols followed by SA, I am linking a couple of topics so that you have a better understanding of what is recommended here and the steps that you can take to minimize your withdrawal.

Hi Dianaberg and welcome from me too,

Please complete your drug signature as requested previously.  This will appear below every post you make and allow us to see your drug history at a glance without having to read back through your topic.

You might want to consider reinstating if the withdrawal symptoms are unbearable.  To be able to offer a suggestion on a drug and dose you could try we will need your signature completed.

Please read Post #1 of this topic and let us know what you think:  About reinstating and stabilizing to reduce withdrawal symptoms
