I feel  worse like it's stronger,

4 days ago I  switched I can switch back... I feel  like  I  reached  a dead end with  the drugs... I have withdrawal  symptoms,  specially  with hormone  changes ... I need to start tapering  soon...  Just feel  like I'm wding  with no decrease... I have  been  waking up  in the middle of the night,  not so functional in the morning  but that's always  mornings.  Still  settling  but  not getting  anywhere...  I want to do titration,  I  think  there is not point  in taking  something  that's making  you sick  everyday...   I had some stressor that complicated  things... Anyway  I'm going  to get my period  in 11days so not a good  time... I already  feel the body aches there will always  be something...  And not sure what to expect  but going very slow  anyway  when I start

Which symptoms are worse with the new brand of Celexa?

How do you take 5mg Celexa? Do you cut a tablet in half?

Hi Carmie,

I just your message   I have  to check my setting!   I moved homes was and  still is stressful, I feel I have gone backward in time and its holding my taper...

My sleep is bad, and anxiety pops up in the night... Moves are so hard  specially now in WD...

How are you doing , how are you coping with everything?

 Hugs xxx

Hi lalala,

Im sorry the move was so stressful for you. Have you made your new place nice n cosy? I think it’s important to make your home relaxing n have things to look at that you love like plants or fairy lights, pretty cushions, pictures on the walls you like etc.

Ive got a wall in my bedroom that my bed faces, there’s a tv there n I’ve stuck all things on the wall around the tv that make me smile. I just use blue tack. I’ve put art up there n balloons n fairy lights n positive wooden signs I’ve painted etc. when I’m stuck in bed n feel absolutely horrible it makes my day to wake up to my “happy wall.” I can’t believe how long balloons stay inflated, the ones I’ve got up there at the moment I think I blew up a month ago. I sometimes pop the balloons if I want different ones.

Are you holding for a while? It is always so important to hold until one stabilises before making any other changes.

Take care n I hope you start to feel a little settled in your new place soon.💚

It was very stressful and it affected my sleep... I wake up very tired but  that's always , I have not tapered yet,, thxs for the tips for the house,

its small this new place... still getting use to it.  but near a park  I think I will take  a walk later...Pushing myself

I like the happy wall concept the balloons.

I'm holding  still... Because of all this move and other things...

how are you? are you more stabilized and in general? xx

Hi lalala. I just saw your post on my page asking how I am tapering the Klonopin.

I apologize I did not see it sooner. Are you currently tapering Klonopin?

I have a Gemini scale from Amazon. I bought a couple of Exacto knives from Michael’s craft supply. I bought a pack of small paper to cut the pill on from Amazon. I also have a pill splitter. I was taking 1mg of K for 10 months. Split into 2 doses AM and PM.

In Sept 2017, I started tapering. Usually 10% per month. There have been a couple of months I have held for 6 weeks.

I am now at .25 mg split into 2 doses per day.

It seems sooo much easier to me than using liquid to taper, but that’s just me.

If you want more info, please pm me. Or respond to this post. I will be sure to check.

Hi lalala,

Yes I can imagine moving is extremely stressful. It’s stressful when you’re not ill but when going through withdrawals it would be overwhelming.

I haven’t stabilised as yet from changing to compounded capsules but when I do I’m going back to the original tablet as it’s more accurate so I’ll be going through many withdrawals because of that changeover again too. So is the world of tapering.

Good idea for you to hold a little while until the stress of moving to a new place has settled n you are stabilised. Not a good idea to taper if you’re not back to the baseline of withdrawal normal n have bad symptoms.

Hope you’re feeling a little better soon💚

Do you have an oral syringe? You'd start by taking 4.5mg Celexa instead of 5mg.

Lalala, please don't start your AD taper until you've healed from your UTI (mentioned over in your benzo thread).

If you have Excel (or Open Office) you can use a spreadsheet to calculate doses.  See: how-to-calculate-dosages-and-dilutions-spreadsheets-and-calculators

At the bottom of my post click on one of the two files called dose_weights.  You can use the weight column to calculate your dose in ml (instead of grams).  It doesn't matter that it's ml instead of gram, the maths is the same.

For "dose of one whole pill" (orange cell) enter 5.   For "desired starting dose" (yellow cell) enter 5.  For "weight" (turquoise cell) enter 10.  In the green cell enter 10 for 10% dose reductions.

Then all the pale turquoise cells will show you the ml you need for each dose drop.

I've just opened the spreadsheet.  It only calculates the dosage.  You make the reduction when you choose to do it.

These are the links, they were a bit had to see because they were at the very bottom so I am including them for you here:

Dose_weights_SA.xlsx

Dose_weights_SA.xls

Yes  I  was wondering  about  it at the end  I found it...  I  was thinking  of  alternating between  the 2 drugs.  One month   k then one month Celexa,  thxs  ChessieCat

thank you,  I still haven't started my taper but I have a question  I have been  taking 5mg of celexa and I recently  just use 20ml of water  I use to use  40ml, so reduced the water quantity I have had some headaches, today after my dose i had a headache straight away... can it be because or the water reduction?

I don't know what dose of tablet you are using.  I will use 20mg tablet as an example.

20mg in 40mL - you would take 10mL solution for a 5mg dose   (divide both sides by 4)

20mg in 20mL - you would take 5mL solution for a 5mg dose   (divide both sides by 4)

Q:  Did you take the correct dose?

If you have taken the correct dose it may be coincidence that you have a head ache.  Or it might be the change of the concentration of the liquid.

It may also be to do with your monthly cycle.  We can get head aches for various reasons, not just related to withdrawal/tapering/changing formulations.

Hi sorry , I just saw your message as i didn't get notified on my email... yes this is ow I do it  20mg in 20 ml  and divide it  I think it was my  monthly cycle

Hi chessiecat,  I was decreasing but realized I was doing it wrong and not decreasing at all,  I started to from  20ml of water with the 20 mg of celexa pill then instead of reducing  just the ml with the same  quantity  I reduced the water  to 18ml and with the syringe  4.5 from the solution so that would be the same quantity?

anyway  I'm so sleep deprived I dont know what I was thinking... So  I will  do my 20mg in 20mL - you would take 5mL solution for a 5mg dose   (divide both sides by 4) and  just decrease  the ml in the syringe... this is correct? Was not able to  open the Making a citalopram solution yourself
