JustCallMeJane Posted January 31, 2018 Author Share Posted January 31, 2018 Tue Jan. 30 (con't) 12:00 - massive migraine, 1000mg Tylenol 12:45 - 5mg Cipralex, 16mg Serc 16:00 - migraine still raging, light sensitive, sound sensitive, 1000mg Tylenol, go to bed 20:40 - wake up, headache gone I'm not sure if the migraine came on because of stressing so much about the eczema, or just a typical migraine like I used to get. My WDS have slowly diminished, with the occasional heart palpitations lasting a short amount of time. The nighttime panic attacks are gone, as are my RLS symptoms. I'm just having to deal with the itchiness now and the lack of concentration. I still can't read for very long (I have to skip long posts) and my words still take time to gather. ---- just noticed it took 15 minutes to write this post... UGH My memory is a sieve. Cold compresses are a momentary ease of itching. Creams, lotions, allergy pills, nada. I'd rather have the brain zaps & anxiety back than this. Anyone have any ideas how to make this settle down, and preferably go away?? My memory is a sieve. Take Care, Frogie xx Thanks Frogie, yeah I'm currently using Aveeno Baby Care Eczema products. It settles it for about 30 minutes before it rages again. As long as I keep my arm cool, ie cold compresses and cold washes, it settles. But one can only handle the cold so long. I actually put my arm in a snowbank today when I was out it got so bad. I'm sure people were looking at me like "oh my gosh that woman has lost her mind!" My husband is worried since it is only on the arm with the new tattoo that it's another infection or worse, an allergy to the inks. Either way, he's taking me to the doctor tonight. She believes I'm having a severe allergic reaction to the ink and has put me on a high dose of Reactin (cetirizine hydrochloride). She doesn't believe it's infected, but it is "enraged", as she put it... hot to the touch and inflamed. She was going to put me on a different drug, but it would have had an adverse interaction with the Cipralex. Luckily the computer caught the interaction issue. I'm on this for at least 7-10 days, with the prescription filled for 30 days, just in case. Both the doctor and the pharmacist believe the itching should settle within 24-48 hours. Let's hope so, as I'm not enjoying keeping my arm on ice. I had to chuckle at the caveat... IF it's infected, this won't solve the issue...... no DUH! lol My memory is a sieve. Sending you love and hugs. K xo Sad thing is, most if not all of the WDs have subsided. A few palpitations here and there, and a bit of anxiety within an hour before my daily dosage of Cipralex. I've tried aloe, as well as lidocaine, hydrocortisone, calamine and oatmeal creams. All worked so-so for about 30-45 minutes, and then ARGH all over again. I was even taking over the counter allergy medicine to no avail. It was just getting worse and worse. Literally, the only thing that helped was a bag of ice on my arm. Finally, my husband said, GO SEE THE DOCTOR! Fingers crossed I get some sleep tonight, as the med has "drowsiness" as a side effect. YAY! My memory is a sieve. K Hi Kristine, yes I got some sleep last night, although not as restful as I'd hoped. As the arm heats up the itch intensifies. I bought a cooling mat and tried that out last night. Interesting concept. I could wrap it around the entire wrist to cool down the affected areas. I still tossed and turned though, but at least it was sleep. LOL I know about the expired "stuff" here and there. When I moved my mom a few years back, she had stuff that was from the 1980s. I have 90% of our "medicine cabinet" in one area, aside from my stash of Tylenol & antacids beside my bed. Hubby has an industrial first aid cabinet in his workshop, but that primarily contains gauze, band-aids & eyewash. Hoping you're having luck with your taper. HUGS my friend. My memory is a sieve. Just add water, smoosh out the excess air and it stays cool for hours. If you google the company name they have it in their online store, sold out right now. My memory is a sieve. It still gets itchy, but I'm not trying to rip my skin off anymore... THANK GOD! The arm is still reddish pink in areas and slightly warm, but no longer hot to the touch. The cooling pad has definitely been a Godsend. I've spent a bit of time reading (when I can focus my attention long enough) up on tattoo ink allergies. I never realized that it is possible to develop an allergy weeks, months even YEARS after getting a tattoo. Red ink is the worst culprit, but other colours can be affected as well. Some people have to have them removed in order to deal with the allergies. Scary thought! My memory is a sieve. I can honestly say, I'm 1,000 times better. All the WDS I had been dealing with have gone, or are nearly gone. My Meniere's flare-ups are due to lack of sleep from the itchy arm at night. I'm sorry you are going through this and there is nothing else the dr can do for you? When I got my last tattoo, they told me to put unscented Curel lotion on it then plastic wrap on it. Three or four times a day. I did it for about a week and I never even got a scab. I don't know if that would help or not? I wish you luck. I was hoping the allergy pills would have ceased the itching, but overnight it flared right back to square one. My memory is a sieve. What I can remember: 2006- Effexor started at 75mg upped to 300mg somewhere after 2008- Switched to Cipralex started at 5mg upped to 20mg 2017- added Wellbutrin 150mg to Cipralex 20mg occasional use of Ativan 0.5mg sublingual, usually given 7-10 tabs -- (last used Nov 2017 ... previous? my mom's death probably? 2013) Cold turkey Nov 13, 2017 (used Ativan once a day when it was unbearable until Rx finished) 24 Jan. 2018 - Reinstated Cipralex 5mg 31 Jan. 2018 - started Cetirizine Hydrochloride for severe allergies due to tattoo --- stopped 24 Feb. 2018 26 Feb. 2018 - Coversyl 4mg Currently: 5mg Cipralex , 16mg Serc (for Meniere's), 4mg Coversyl (high blood pressure) Supplements: 300mg Magnesium Link to comment

Valium, Gabapentin, Lamictal, Prilosec and Zantac from 2000 to 2015 with a fast taper by a psychiatrist. Liquid Lexapro Nov, 2016 to 31-March, 2019 Lexapro free!!! (total Lexapro taper was 4 years-started with pill form) ---CURRENT MEDICATIONS:Supplements:Milk Thistle, Metamucil, Magnesium Citrate, Vitamin D3, Levothyroxine 25mcg, Vitamin C, Krill oil. Xanax 1mg 3x day June, 2000 to 19-September, 2020 Went from .150 grams (average weight of 1 Xanax) 3x day to .003 grams 3x day. April 1, 2021 went back on 1mg a day. Started tapering May 19, 2023. July 28, 2023-approximately .87mg. Dr. fast tapered me at the end and realized he messed up. Prescribe it again and I am doing "slower than a turtle" taper. 19-September, 2020 Xanax free!!! Today, my arm was less enraged, and I'm doing my best to focus through the itchiness and not over cream and freeze it. My understanding is that putting too much cream/lotion can also be detrimental to the rash. I guess it stops the pores from breathing... dunno, but it's taking all my mental capacity to not scratch! Nighttime is the worst, as my arm heats up and Kaboom! it's enraged all over again. My memory is a sieve.
