Okay great.  When that sometimes elusive improved stability comes........and yah, it can be elusive sometimes.......  we(here at survivingantidepressants.org) would suggest just a........what is going to sound minuscule and probably ridiculous to your prescriber(as MOST, if not all just are not aware of the troubles we have experienced)...........tapering drop down to .9 mg.  And you don't need to tell your prescriber this if you don't want to.  Just get what you need as far as scripts go...... is often the best.  Hoping you have what you need as far as oral syringes with good markings as well.

Incremental suggested tapering drops of 10%:

1mg X .9= .9 mg

.9 mg X .9= .81 mg........would be your second suggested tapering drop in dosage.......which is 10% of the previous .9mg.

Yes.......I know you can do this too!  Huge hugs.  Having one of those.......feels like, prolonged emotional upheavals myself now and sometimes doubting my sanity.  When......in reality.......and I am.........in reality............I know I am one of the sanest individuals that I presently know.  I only share that in hopes it gives you hope and strength.

Oooogha, feeling my Rowanda spirit come back,

Love and peace RR,

I weaned off Abilify by tapering for 6 months. Took last dose (crumbs) end of June. Mid August I started to suffer from sinus problems and about two weeks after that I started to belch constantly. Can this be related to stopping Abilify. I also have no energy at all. Has anyone else experienced any of these symptoms? Do they ever go away?

The sinus problems may be from withdrawal.  However, if it continues I suggest you get your doctor to test for infection.  It may also be allergy related.  Some members have found that after reducing or getting off their drug they suffer from allergies.  The belching also may be from withdrawal.  Other members have experienced similar issues.

Thank you so much for the quick response. This site is a life saver. My Dr. does not have a clue about what I am going thru .  Reading about the struggles and successes of others really helps me to keep going. One day at a time. I am seeing a dr. About the sinus but antibiotics and prednisone have not helped. He does however feel that the belching is related to the sinus problem.  For now I am going with all of this being connected to the weaning of the Abilify. I will continue to post on my progress in the hopes that it may help others.

Hi Red Robin!

I am new on this forum and also take Abilify.  I am going to begin titrating down, soon.  Interested to see how others are doing in getting off this medication, I found your posts and thought I would drop in to ask, "How are you doing?"  Are you still taking the Abilify?

Peaceful wishes,

Cleer

I am off Abilify since July 2018. I wake up every morning with anxiety but it calms down once I am up and moving. I still fight depression. The worse of the weaning off is the sinus and burping in my throat. It is constant and drs cannot do anything for it. I would be curious to know if anyone has gone through this. Did it go away?

Hi RedRobin:  So good to hear that you are off the Abilify!  I have been taking it for over 6 years and I look forward to the day I also will be free of it.  Though I did read that sinus troubles are a side effect of this medication, I cannot comment on it or the belching. My own sinuses have been through the wringer, but my troubles with my sinuses began before I started taking Aripiprazole/Abilify.   I hope you continue to improve and meet with ever increased healing.   Cleerity
