Hi everyone,

Thanks for all your lovely messages. Not able to reply at the moment as I have severe brain fog. I have to say though, I’m starting to get some long windows! Yay!!! Looks like I may eventually stabilise on this compounded formula, and then I’ll switch back to tablet. Off course, then I’ll have to try n stabilise again when I do that before I taper again.

As regards my brain at the moment, it seems to be on another planet. I don’t think it’s earth!!!! 🌏😃

Hang in there everyone 💚💚

Hi again everyone,

I’m still struggling to think due to severe brain fog (CFS) but I just wanted to share a positive thought.

When we are in the midst of waves we feel the windows will never come but they ALWAYS do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lots of emphasis there😂.

Over the last few days I’ve had a lot of really long windows even though the majority of the last three months has been waves. I went to an amazing concert on Sunday that lasted eight hours n I was in a window for most of that time n enjoyed it immensely. It’s called A Day On The Green n it consisted of about six different acts. We sat on our folding chairs n chilled outdoors to the most amazing singers.

@Songbird Yes, Richard Marx sang Hazard. It was AMAZING! And John Farnham singing The Voice, well that was something else! He really is The Voice! The bagpipes are incredible in that song too. Daryl Braithwaite sang Howzat which was soooo cool! I think I was about ten or eleven when that song came out. And of course he sang Horses n that was a big hit with the crowd. I tell you what Songbird, Richard Marx doesn’t seem to age. What’s with that??😃

@neroli You are such a sweetheart n I’ll be in contact with you soon. I’m so glad this site helps you to keep going. Unless people have gone through withdrawals they don’t really understand.

@Sheera @DMV64@Rabe Thanks for all your kind words n for checking in.

@manymoretodays Thanks for your thoughts. I’ll get back to you, just don’t have the brain power at the moment.

Sending much love to everyone 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to pop in briefly. I am still struggling with severe brain fog due to my illness but I wanted to say I’ve been in a window pretty much all day so far. I think I’m stabilising. We will see what the rest of the week brings. Please remember windows always come eventually. It really doesn’t feel like it when waves go on for months n months but windows ALWAYS come.

If you look at the above illustration that is what our recovery path looks like. We feel like we’re going backwards a lot of the time, but we are actually moving forward.

Hang in there everyone💚

Yep, definitely true Songbird,

We feel like we’re going forward but then we crash again. Nevertheless even the crashes are part of the forward movement. Sometimes the lows are soooooo low but we are still on the path to recovery.

Sending hugs🤗

P.s. brain fog has been so bad that when I went to get my speaker with the flashing lights (the lights pulsate to whatever I’m playing on my ipad) from the loungeroom I went to the kitchen instead n opened the fridge. I don’t think the speaker is in there🤣🤣🤣

P.s.s. I’m on a roll again. I do this occasionally 😂. I’m struggling to think but I just want to say to everyone please look at the illustration above. It was an illustration looking at the recovery of CFS, which I have, but it really applies to withdrawals as well.

I’ve only learnt in the last couple of years that I can get over CFS even though I’ve had it for 24 years. It’s a CNS illness. So is withdrawals. I don’t have a chance of recovering from my illness until these dreaded meds are out of my system and I stabilise,  which may be another ten years or more.

That being said, I continue to be positive despite the pain I’m going through. I’ve had major waves for over three months but I seem to be stabilising now again. There have been tears, there have been times where I just couldn’t go on, but somehow I keep going. Who knows how. I have the most amazing friends though n I have my faith.

I want to do a crossover back to my tablet from the compounding formula every since @brassmonkey said it’s better to stick to the original tablets as they are more accurate.

I WILL DO THIS! I CAN DO THIS!!!

I’m not sure when I’ll do the crossover yet as my friends keep inviting me to things n I want to be well enough to go to them. Am especially looking forward to going to an aqua park with friends in January. Another friend just asked me to stay with her for a few days, she also lives near the water. Looooove water!! Okay, I can’t stop laughing now as every time I try to type water autocorrect keeps changing it to Walter! 🤣 I don’t even know anyone called Walter.

I wish the best for each n everyone of you going through withdrawals. I really wish I could take all your pain away.

Sending lots of hugs🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

You take care!!  Didnt know that was for the CFW...thoguht it was the WD...but it sure is accurate for both!  Hugs to you!💜

Hi Rabe,

Yes, that would have been quite something if my speaker was in the fridge! I do the silliest things, but at least I can laugh at them.

It’s a wonder I manage to clothe myself, get myself fed n get through the day🤣.

Here’s to finding some humour in these perilous times.

Yes, I’m in window again so far today. Looks I may be heading back to my baseline. Well, let’s hope so anyway.

Hi Sheera,

Thanks for dropping by.  Yes, I totally agree we need to find the humour in this whole nonsense when we can, otherwise we would go crazy!🤪😃

I’m hoping to get out in nature today, somewhere near the water ( wow! Autocorrect hasn’t changed water to Walter this time. It’s done in quite a number of times??). 🌊

Hope you cope okay today💚

Hi everyone,

How are we all coping? I’ve had another day with pretty much all windows. Not sure when I’ll cross-taper to the original tablets again, though I hope soon.

Had a wonderful time in nature today, went for a walk through the wetlands. It’s a boardwalk that goes through the mangroves and rivers n past the beach. Sooo beautiful n relaxing.

Took lots of photos. Nature is AMAZING!! Pleeeeease get out in nature as much as you can. There really isn’t anything better, our Creator knows what we need .

I’d love to share photos but I don’t want to take too much space on this forum. I just figured out how to post photos here😂😂😂

Hang in there everyone. WE WILL WIN THIS FIGHT!!!💚💚💚💚

P.s. Can’t download photos, takes too much data.

Just documenting: Today is day 102 since changing to compounded formula and day 39 since the accidental double dose.

I started stabilising last Sunday, which was day 96 since formulation change.

I’ve had lots of windows all week. Yay!!  They always come eventually.

Take care everyone 💚

Yes, we all certainly need encouragement during these hard times. I’m so sorry the tetanus shot you had has put you into bad waves. It just goes to show how sensitive our nervous systems are.

Sending hugs🤗

Thank you soooo much for the link  @ChessieCat

It really is much appreciated. I don’t know how to do links on my tablet n I’m not all that computer minded but you are an expert so I’m glad to have you on my tag team💚

Hello one n all,

I hope you’re finding good distractions to get you through withdrawals. I’ve got my headphones on at the moment n am cranking up the music. I don’t use head phones a lot as I don’t want to get tinnitus but I’m in the mood this evening. Usually I just crank up the music and connect it to my flashing speaker that pulsate lights according to the beat of the music. Love all the pretty colours.

Catching up with friends tomorrow morning. I’m in windows pretty much now but I’m really sick because of my illness but my friends always perk me up. I need to catch up with friends tomorrow no matter how I’m feeling.

Still deciding when to cross taper back to my tablets. I’ve had a horrendous three months of mainly waves. Windows have come again now though, yay! Can’t wait to get back to the original tablets again. I think brassmonkey was very wise in saying to use the original tablets. Sometimes that’s not possible though with certain meds n people have successfully tapered off compounded capsules too.

Hang in there everyone, it’s back to cranking up the music n I’ve just listened to Word Crimes by Weird Al Yankovich about three times now. It makes me laugh😂. I’ve been listening to a million Richard Marx songs too since the concert on Sunday too.

Hope you find things that make you laugh too💚💚😍

Okay everyone,

Please DO NOT check out these YouTube videos if you are easily triggered but I really think that the doctors n pharmaceutical companies should check out Lucinda Meyer on YouTube. I’ve been following her n she blogs the struggle she’s been going through because of being cold turkeyed off meds. She’s gone through hell for about two years or so now n documents it. Her akathisia is so severe.

It breaks my heart because akathisia just wants to make you not want to live anymore.

It is quite upsetting watching her videos as she gets severe akathisia. She is such an amazing person as she keeps on going despite the fact she feels she can’t go on anymore. She’s an inspiration to me.

I admire her so much for keeping on going. Such an inspiration. Again, PLEASE DO NOT WATCH THE VIDEOS if you are easily triggered.

Sending hugs🤗

Hi Carmie, really happy to see you're finally getting some windows. You really deserve it, and after such a long time period of only waves. Like Brassmonkey mentioned in his post a positive attitude really does help and that's very apparent in your case, I think. It even helps the people around you I would say. Your sense of humour on top of that is amazing. It's one of the things I've tried to hold onto the whole time, but it can be difficult at times of course.

I'm really sorry to hear about your depersonalization too, I can only imagine what it's like having it all the time. I've had it for a couple of hours at most and it is horrible and scary.

Going to concerts and similar fun events like you're doing I think is so important. It really raises one's spirits and is one of those things that makes life feel worth living.

Hugs to you!

2011-2015: Escitalopram (Cipralex) 20 mg, Voxra 300 mg (quit Voxra in late 2015, no issues)

2016: Started tapering Escitalopram 5 mg at a time, every fourth week

July 24th, 2016: Escitalopram 5 mg

April 2nd, 2017: Quit last dosage (WD worsened a lot)

Ca 6 last months of 2017: Taking Diazepam 15-25 mg irregularly, less than once a month

Ca Dec 2017: Out of Diazepam, i.e free from all prescribed drugs

Now: Still drug free

Supplements: Irregular intake of Omega-3, magnesium, vitamin D.

Just documenting that I’m still pretty much mainly in windows now. Brain fog is severe from my illness though so cant read hardly anything.

Caught up with friends this morning. One of my friends has a relative in a symphony orchestra n said sometimes when there are a few tickets left for an event they get $20 tickets. Woohoo! Bargain! They said next time they will let me know n I can join them. I’m in! I don’t listen to much classical music but going to a live symphony will be incredible. You don’t know if there are tickets left until the day before. I’m all for spontaneity.

I did see Andre Rieu in concert. That was amazing! I love Bolero n listening to that live is so moving. Music is amazing when going through withdrawals. It still makes me sad when I hear people not being able to enjoy it due to noise sensitivity.

I’m in bed now as I have no strength but I’m in good spirits as had a lovely time with friends. Hoping to visit another friend in the morning. My friends certainly keep me going. I really appreciate them so much.

Just want to say briefly if you need something to cheer you up go to YouTube n start watching Flashmobs. I’m stuck in bed at the moment n I can barely think or move but Flashhmobs are making me smile. I’d love to see one in real life! Take care💚

Hello Carmie

Good to hear you are having windows.  Even though you are stuck in bed and have brain fog, it's great that you can enjoy some windows at the moment.  May there be more and more.

I'll check out Brassmonkey's post on fear at some point.  Thank you for bringing that up.

Best wishes

Thanks for your messages @Sunnyday @Rabe @Miracle123 @Songbird @neroli @Dejavu

Hope you are all coping the best you can. I’ve kind of gone into a crash with my CFS and I’m not very functional at the moment, physically or cognitively. Will get back to you all when I’m able.

I’m sure the stress of being in mainly waves for three months has contributed to this. I’m still in a window now but a lot of the CFS symptoms I have are the same as what people get in withdrawals. My battery is always almost running on empty, but when I’m in a crash I have used up that little bit of battery I had. Stress can cause this, too much activity ( physical or mental) or sometimes nothing at all.

Take care everyone,💚
