Well YAY!!!!  SO happy to hear things continue to go well, Carmie!!  And its amazing you are Einstein with these numbers even with you rWD and CFS!!  You are so amazing!!  Hope things continue to go well, Carmie...I think they will!💜

Hi Rabe,

Thanks for your kind message. I’m definitely no Einstein though, took me forever to figure out the math, and then to be on the safe side I asked brassmonkey to double check my math. How about that though, I got it right! 😁 miracles still happen!

I had a good laugh on this site this morning when I tried to say to someone that I’m a photoholic, and autocorrect changed it to pothole!🤣🤣🤣🤣

Take care💚

Hi guys,

Thanks for popping by and all the hugs. Yes, I’m hoping the crosstaper will continue to go smoothly. So far, so good withdrawal wise, though I couldn’t stop bawling the other night as it was too overwhelming to make two water titrations every night and not get them muddled up with the way my brain is. I think I’m back to some kind of equilibrium emotionally though.

I know Rabe, autocorrect is HILARIOUS!! It makes me laugh all the time. How do you get pothole from photoholic??? Autocorrect was telling me I’m a 🕳 instead of a 📸📸📸📸. I was laughing out loud.

It’s good to laugh, sending hugs to both of you. You both really are such shining lights on this site. Keep spreading your sunshine☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️💚

Okay everyone,

I just wanted to say first of all, I am truly sorry you are going through this. It really is the hardest fight of our lives.

My brain is fizzling now so I have to leave this site in a moment, but I just wanted to say if you are changing formulas, whether it’s from tablets to liquid, or tablet to compounded formula pleeeeeease crosstaper. I learnt the hard way last time.

Also, if you can stick with the original tablet and water titrate it or use a scale to get to the lower doses, pleeease do that. Brassmonkey brought this wisdom to me and that’s why I’m crosstapering back to water titrating my original tablet. The original formula is always the most accurate.

That being said, I don’t want to scare anyone that is on compounding formulas because they have no other choice. Many have also gotten off their meds this way as well. If you do have a choice though please stick to your original formula as it’s more consistent.

Again, I’m so sorry you are all going through this, sending a million hugs🤗🤗🤗🤗

Just popping in briefly to say brain dead Carmie has to make another two different water titrations now,

Here goes.🙄 Okay, I can do this, night four of the first part of the crosstaper. Brain, please come down to planet earth so I can do this🌏 ( did you notice I used the emoji with Australia in it 😊

Still no major withdrawals from the crosstaper. Let’s see what tomorrow brings.

Okay, let’s see if I can do this without mistakes. I’ll write down each step I take. I really, really, really can’t wait until I’m just water titrating one formula. Again, this would be no big deal whatsoever with someone whose brain is clear, but when brain fog is severe it can be overwhelming. I’m happy though I’ve made no mistakes the last three nights.Yay!! Let’s keep this up!

Okay here goes, I can do this😬. Sending hugs🤗🤗

P.s.s. Okay, I’m on a roll again. I do tend to do this every now and again. I’ll be going to bed soon, but I just wanted to say that my heart goes out to each and every one of you. This really well and truly is one of the worst journeys we will ever go through.

At the moment I’m in a window and I’m okay, but I’m extremely sick with my illness and spend a lot of time in bed. I’m hoping my crosstaper continues to go smoothly, but there are no guarantees in this journey. So far it’s okay. Yay!

There are so many things that keep me going in this journey, my Creator, my friends, my hobbies, music, nature and all the beautiful creation around us, and the list goes on. I hope you all have things to hang onto that keep you going.

Got some beautiful messages from friends today, I am so privileged to have the most amazing friends, it doesn’t matter what I’ve gone through, or what I go through, they stick to me like glue. It warms my heart so much, I love them all to bits.

Got a message today from a friend that wants to go with me to Australia Zoo this month. I looooooove Australia Zoo! I’d move in if I could😁. Can you tell I’m a major nature freak! I’ve been to Australia Zoo so many times, must be time to go again though. Can’t wait to see the meerkats again, aren’t they the cutest things ever! The Irwins are so down to earth. Great family.

Another friend wanted me to visit her up the Coast while she’s at her parent’s place, but I just don’t have the strength to get up there at the moment, I’d have to catch a train. I loooooooooove trains though, my favourite mode of transport. I can’t cope at the moment interacting with a ton of people as the CFS is bad. I can’t think straight to have lots of conversations, though I love people and I don’t feel panicky whatsoever around them.  It’s just a bit too draining at the moment with limited energy.I will go up there one day though.

One thing I’m grateful for is that I don’t have social phobia, and I’ve never had panic attacks. I’m so sorry if you suffer from these things.. I’m quite an extrovert and I’m comfortable in all situations.

Okay, my brain is fizzling now, and it’s time for lights out soon. Please find things that help you endure this journey 💚💚💚

Hi @neroli @Rabe

Thanks for dropping by. Hope you both got through yet another day okay. Well tonight is night five of the first part of the crosstaper. Time does keep rolling on, before I know it I’ll be back to the original tablet. Another two nights after tonight and I’ll go to the next step, half of the old and half of the new formula.

Well, I spent most of the morning in bed, but spent the afternoon with friends. One of my friends wants to take me to a chemist to try foundation next week. Makeup and girly time! I’m just a slap on the nude by nature mineral powder when I feel like it kind of gal. I don’t really wear any other makeup. I have been breaking out though because of the histamine factor with my meds. I’ve been slack with the low histamine diet, but I will have to start that again. I have no problems sticking to diets when I decide that’s what I want to do. I was on the autoimmune protocol diet for years, it’s stricter than paleo. Just had other more important things to give attention to at the moment.

Got my niece’s wedding in a couple of months. It’s at Byron Bay. I looooove Byron Bay!😍🌊🏝️ We’ll be staying for the weekend I think. It’s cocktail attire, I’ve got to go and get myself a dress. I hate trying on clothes!☹️ Looking forward to going to the wedding though, and partying afterwards. 💃💃💃

Was invited to a party tonight, but I didn’t have the strength to go. I had fun at the last one there though. One of my friends plays the guitar, and we were singing Beatles song. I wouldn’t actually call what I do singing.🤣 That doesn’t stop me though! I sound like a wounded animal!

Anyway, sending hugs your way🤗🤗

Okay, my brain is definitely leaving the building now. I didn’t start off with a lot of brain power today, but even that small amount is fizzling now.

Tonight will be night six of the first part of my crosstaper. I’m hoping to do the first part for seven days, but if the withdrawals ramp up I will do it for ten days as I have enough of the old compounded capsules to do that. My nervous system seemed to ramp up quite a bit today for a few hours, though it has seemed to settle a bit again now.

I just want to say to everyone on this site pleeeeease listen to your body. Thank you to everyone who has responded to my messages on their threads. I will get back to you when I’m able.

Wishing everyone the best in their recovery 💚💚💚💚💚

Just documenting: Tonight will be night seven of the first part of the crosstaper. So far withdrawal wise I’m not too bad. Was going to start the second part of the crosstaper tomorrow night but I might be going to Australia Zoo some time this week so I’m holding off until after that, just in case it ramps up my symptoms.

I don’t have much cognitive ability this morning. Where are you brain??? I’m spending this morning with a friend, going out for a cuppa, maybe lunch. She needs her caffeine😁. I haven’t had coffee in over thirty years, no caffeine cravings there. I love the smell of it though when you walk past a coffee shop. Looking forward to catching up with my friend today, it’s been a few weeks since I’ve seen her. Boy, time flies when you’re having fun! Or in our cases, even when you’re not.😁

Okay, I better do a little housework before I go out. Take care everyone 💚

Australia zoo, I’m so jealous! I was meant to visit as part of an Australia trip I had to cancel in December. My friends still went on the trip and got some really cool shots with kangaroos, cheetahs etc.

Time flies! Nearly a week into your cross taper and glad it’s gone smoothly.

Hi @eymen23

Thanks for dropping by, my brain is still not on planet earth🌏( had to make sure I used the emoji with Australia on it 😂).

Yes, Australia Zoo is great, I’ve been about seven or eight times I think. I’m so sorry you didn’t get to go come to Australia. I really love it here, lot of beaches and nature. A cool place to live. Did you give your plane ticket etc to a friend or something when you were too sick to come here? Australia isn’t going anywhere, hopefully you can come here some other time.

When I went to visit my nieces in Victoria they actually had kangaroos hopping around in the back yard as they live out in the country. You have to be careful not to run them over as they sometimes hop onto the road. On the day I was leaving and getting a lift to the shuttle bus that takes you to Melbourne airport a kangaroo hopped across the road. It was early in the morning n still dark. Boy, that kangaroo was an early bird! You have to drive slowly and be careful in some places.

I went to Victoria for my niece’s wedding, and I made sure I was stable for many months beforehand, otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to go. I went to Sydney afterwards and stayed with a friend. It’s good to have a break from tapering every now and again so you can make some fun memories to look back on.

Well, my failing brain is well and truly failing now, sending hugs🤗

Hi everyone,

Thinking of you all in this horrid journey we call withdrawals.

So tonight is night eight of the first part of the crosstaper. I was only going to do it for seven nights but I’ve got heaps of the compounding capsules left so I might as well go slower and not rock the boat too much as I’m not doing too bad so far. I’m spending a whole day with a friend on Saturday so I will start phase two Saturday night, that way I won’t have to worry about ramping up symptoms before then.

Phase one is going okay so far, there’s no reason phase two shouldn’t. We don’t know what this journey holds though, do we? It changes so quickly. Up, down, up, down.🎢🎢🎢🎢🎢

One thing I’ve learnt this last week is PLEASE CROSSTAPER if you’re going to change formulations, whether it’s to a compounding capsule, to water titrating or back to your original tablets.

When I changed from water titrating my original tablet to water titrating the compounding formula the withdrawals were so severe, I didn’t crosstaper as I didn’t know anything about it at the time. The first night was so intense too, but this time going back to the original tablet with crosstapering it was no big deal at all. I don’t know what the rest of the crosstaper will be like, but it seems to be smooth sailing so far.

My friend had to cancel going to Australia Zoo this week due to circumstances, but hopefully all going well we will go next week. I’m going to do phase two of the crosstaper on Saturday, as I mentioned, so I hope that doesn’t put a damper on things.

I have this soft toy dog named Puddles and I just posted a photo of him before going into the washing machine with the caption: “ HELP!!! I don’t want a wash!💦💦💦💦” I cant stop laughing as he’s got such a cute and funny face. I’ve got him clinging onto the sides of the washing machine. I’m still laughing. I’ve decided to take Puddles on some of my adventures and take photos. Last time he was helping me to make bookmarks.

He’s quite big so I’ll need an extra bag to put him in, he hardly weighs anything though. I’m still laughing. 🤣🤣 I have a private account and only connect with friends, but there are some public accounts on Instagram of soft toys going on all sorts of adventures. I loooooove photography and I have a quirky sense of humour. I laugh at the weirdest things. I guess that keeps me going in this journey.

Take care everyone💚💚💚( still laughing, poor Puddles🐶🤣)

Hello Carmie

Thank you for popping in to my thread.  It's been a while since I posted on yours - going back to work means I don't have the time in the day to spend on this site so much.

I'm glad to hear that your cross-taper is going well - it seems that you have given yourself a more manageable way to swap over, after learning from last time's switch. We do get to learn such a lot don't we?  All thumbs are up for the second phase starting on Saturday and for your trip to Australia Zoo next week.

Thank you so much for your "company" over the xmas/new year break - made such a difference to have you all to talk to.

Warmest wishes (we've gone cooler here, lovely, but will be back up by the end of the week).  Just hope February isn't too much of a scorcher, I mean I do want people to enjoy their holidays and all that....but I also want to be able to sleep at night and not swelter.

Hi Carmie

I'm glad you are having fun with traveling and being silly with your photos of Puddles but I have one, dumb question: what is crosstapering?

Currently taking Ramapril (blood pressure) 5 mg twice a day

Omeprazole 10 mg AM and 20 mg PM  (the taper has gone nowhere after the first cut)

Famotidine   once a day (and I still needs tums sometimes)

magnesium 200 mg at night

as of yesterday 2 fish oil capsules "EPA-DHA 1000"

off Lexapro as of 5/2018  - last dose had been 5 mg every other day for a couple years

highest dose had been 20 mg at which point I was diagnosed with Bipolar II, which went away when I cut the lexapro down to 15 mg.

I spent years on Paxil before Lexapro (can't remember dose), briefly on Effexor and Abilify and others I have forgotten. in fact, when I was diagnoses with BPII I was put on all kinds of things which made me feel so bad I stopped them cold turkey within maybe 3 or 4 weeks, thank goodness. since then I've known these pills were terrible and I weaned down the Lexapro with zero help or support over I'm not sure how many years.

Hi JackieDecides,

Not a dumb question at all. I didn’t know what it was either when I changed to compounded capsules last year and really payed for it. It is when you slowly go from one formula to another. This is how you do it:

3/4 of the old formula.                  1/4 of the new formula.

1/2 of the old formula.                   1/2 of the new formula

1/4 of the old formula.                     3/4 of the new formula.

You do each one of these stages for around four days to a week or so. I’m doing each stage longer as I have plenty of the old capsules left still. So far it’s been a smooth ride. I’m still at the 3/4 of the old formula and 1/4 of the new formula stage.

Hope you’re coping okay, sending hugs🤗

Hi @JackieDecides @Gracee

Yes, this journey is definitely a learning experience. We keep having to tweak things all time too, but through all the toiling we will get there in the end.

I’ve been getting pain in my right hand and wrist on and off for a couple of months now, but it seems to be ramping up. I think it’s repetitive strain injury as I’ve been crocheting non stop for years while going through withdrawals. I also got hit by a car years ago and broke lots of things on my right hand side too, so that may be attributing to it too. I need to rest it, it’s not getting any better, I definitely don’t want it to get worse. I might have to limit my time on this site because of the typing. It would take me forever to do it with my left hand.

If its not one thing, it’s another. If it doesn’t settle in a few weeks I’ll see if Bowen Therapy might help. I’ve had to stop crafting.🙁

Anyway, there are still plenty of other things I can do to distract myself during waves. If anyone else is reading this that has had repetitive strain injury I’d love to hear your thoughts. Thanks.

I'm sorry to hear this. have you tried ice? it's not always pleasant but it's good at reducing inflammation. have you been to a doctor? not sure about there, but in this country I would ask about seeing an Occupational Therapist especially if you can find one that is a certified hand specialist. also, a therapist can help with the kind of stretches that might relieve the pain, such as tendon glides. the link is just one example (and I can't find a particularly good one) but it's good to have a professional show you how.

I hope you can get some relief!

Thanks for the link @JackieDecides

I actually started doing stretching exercises for my wrist a couple of days ago, and I’ve also used ice. I guess time is the healer, like with withdrawals. It’s not too bad this morning, but I have to not use it too much for it to heal. Thanks again💚

Just documenting: Tonight is night ten of the first part of the crosstaper. I’m going soooo slow, but I will definitely be doing phase two on Saturday night. I was going to spend the whole day on Saturday with a friend, but because of severe brain fog I forgot I had the Phil Collins concert on that night. “ I can feel it coming in the air tonight🎼🎼🎼🎼😄 I’ll be catching up with this particular friend for lunch at a Thai restaurant the following week instead. Saw her last week and we had an amazing heart to heart. I love my friends so much.

I can’t type a lot at the moment, because of repetitive strain injury in my right wrist and hand but I wanted to say hang in there everyone. We will win this fight💚💚

You have to drive slowly and be careful in some places

Hi Miracle and Dejavu,

Thanks for dropping by and for your kind thoughts. Yes crosstaper is going smoothly so far. Let’s see how I go with the second part of it starting Saturday night.

Thanks Miracle, Yes Phil Collins concert will be great, looking forward to it. Amazing musician!

I made a decision tonight that has made me sad, but I know it’s for the best. I’m no longer on Instagram despite the fact I looooove photography. It’s made me really sad, but at the same time it’s kind of a relief. Social media always gives you a kind of restless energy. When you’re dealing with problems related to your CNS you have to try and dampen down your nervous system as much as you can. Okay, I’ll be grieving this loss tonight and maybe over the next couple of days but it’s the best thing in the long run.

Sending hugs🤗🤗

Hi guys,

Thanks for dropping by. Hope you’re both coping okay. I can’t read a lot at the moment because brain fog is bad, and my wrist is sore from repetitive strain, so I’m limited in what I can do recently. Feel sad I can’t do my crafts at the moment.

Yes, getting rid of Instagram was a good idea. I love taking photos and sharing them with my friends, but I can do that anyway via email etc. I just found social media gives me a really restless energy. It’s like TV, I don’t watch TV either, as it does the same thing. I stick to Netflix and DVDs. When I told my friends I was leaving social media I got so many beautiful messages from friends on my page, it made me really emotional. 😢

Yes, looking forward to the concert tomorrow night, love the drumming in Phil Collin’s songs. I’ll be catching a shuttle bus to the footy stadium. The last time I went to a concert at the football stadium was to see Coldplay. They had fireworks.

Take care💚💚

Hi guys,

Thanks for dropping by, the concert was great thanks. Phil Collins wasn’t drumming as his foot was injured in a back operation,(good ol’ doctors again)and he can’t use it now. I really don’t trust any doctors now. 😬 He came on stage with a cane, and sat down the whole night. His voice is still incredible, and he’s still got the passion for singing.

His 17 year old son played the drums, along with another drummer. Wow! His son can play, he really takes after his father. Phil is one of the best drummers, he must be sad he can’t play now. There was a drumming solo that went for nearly a quarter of an hour. It was AMAZING!! I didn’t want it to end! Phil did a little drumming with his hands towards the end of it, kind of little playing the bongo, but it was a flat percussion instrument. The brass instruments were incredible too, he’s got an amazing backup band.

I was going to start the second part of the crossover  last night, but because I got home so late I thought I better not make any more changes until I’ve rested a bit, so I’m starting tonight.

I hope you’re both hanging in there okay, sending hugs🤗
