Carmie: accidently doubling up on seroquel one day while tapering

Recommended Posts

eymen23

@Carmie

I changed generics with no cross-over period and I never felt the same after moving over. Because I hadn’t been on the drug long it was so hard to tell if it was the generic or I was just doing worse staying on the drug, probably a bit of both!

I think it’s really sensible to gently transition and I’m so glad it’s not causing problems. I wonder if the differing doses from compounding pharmacies can cause heightened waves, I’m sure the body prefers things are as consistent as possible. I’m really careful to take my dose at exactly 11am every day, as when I accidentally took it late a couple of times I was sure it made a difference.

Keep up the great work!

I’m excited now! Keith Urban concert tonight. Yeeha!👨‍🌾🎼🎤🎸🎫💃💃 Looking forward to concerts when I’ve been in severe waves has always been something that has helped me. I’m not in a wave now, but in the past when I was, just knowing I had something fun to look forward to really helped. I’ve got one more concert booked so far this year, 1927 and Belinda Carlisle.Have seen 1927 twice before, they played with a Pseudo Echo both times. Love eighties music.

@eymen23  it’s hard to know whether it was changing to generics or it’s the actual medication that caused you problems. I’ve never had a problem changing generics, but some people have. I’m sticking to the same aphapharm brand now though. It takes such a long time though to stabilise from things though once they have affected us. When I’ve been through bad waves I just kept telling myself that they will eventually end.

Yes, I’m sure the differing doses of the compounded capsules can cause problems, especially when you’re down to the teeny tiny doses. Again, I was very happy that brassmonkey said it’s best to stick with the original tablets. Some people have no choice but to get compounding formulas, but if you have a choice I think it’s best to stick with the original tablets. That being said, some people have successfully gotten off their meds using compounded formulas too. I’d rather be safe than sorry though.

That’s great you take your dose at the same time every day, keep that up. All the best in your healing journey.💚

Someone on here today mentioned that they took in a few of their compounding capsules to get analysed, and none of them had the same amount in them.

that is shocking!

Just documenting: Today will be day six of the third phase of the crossover. It’s still going well. I’ll probably continue to do this for a few more days and then it’s back to my original tablet. Yay! Only one water titration formula to make up every night then.

@Rabe Thanks for your kind words. The concert was great! Keith Urban is such an amazing performer, great 🎸 player, as well as singer. He has such an amazing and kind heart too, stardom definitely hasn’t gotten to him. He gave away one of his guitars to a young girl during the show. She’ll have to learn how to play guitar now.😂 He actually grew up here in Brisbane. He’s an Aussie boy. He was born in New Zealand though. He’s very interactive with the audience. It was such a fun night! Went with four friends.

@JackieDecides Yes, it certainly is shocking to see the discrepancies in compounding capsules.

@ChessieCat Thanks for the link.

Take care everyone 💚

Hello Carmie

Great that you enjoyed the concert - maybe having to rest up now, after the excitement?

I hope you're doing ok and that the torrential rain and floods are not affecting you.

Hi Neroli,

Thanks for dropping by. Yes, I spent all day Friday in bed, and then half of Saturday in bed too. Was well worth it! I spend a lot of time in bed anyway, even when I haven’t done much at all. One’s battery is almost on empty with CFS, but when you do too much it ends up being on zero and you can barely move at all. I think it’s another day in bed for me today. I’m in good spirits though.

No, we haven’t had much rain here. It’s been quite warm, but I have airconditioning in the bedroom. It can get quite humid up here.

Next week some time I’ll be back to my original tablet, and I will only have to make up one water titration every night.

Phew! I was so brain dead last night and I didn’t want to make a mistake, so I actually said each step outloud as I was doing it. That helped with my thoughts. The first night that I had to do two different water titrations I actually wrote down the steps as I was doing them so I wouldn’t get them muddled up. My brain fog just gets so bad, and I don’t know what’s up or down.

Hope you’re coping okay.💚

Hi @direstraits

Yes, it’s time for me to rest n get some strength back. I’m in bed today, struggling to do much at all. I’m in good spirits though. I’m going to watch some DVDs in a minute. I’ve got the aircon on, and my cat is asleep on the bed near me. I keep wanting to do other things, but my brain just won’t let me. It’s time to watch some mind numbing dvds.🤣🤣 I don’t have Netflix in the bedroom, only in the loungeroom.

I would have loved to have gone to the beach🌊🌊 today, but I can barely stand up. Hope you’ve managed to get to the beach some time this week.💚

I am having a very slow morning today, not as bad as in bed but not getting much done. I haven't even caught up on SA!

I scheduled a time this afternoon to come back and read up here.

Hi @direstraits @JackieDecides @Tom37

Thanks for popping around. Hope you’re all coping as best you can today. I have a little more strength today, though I’m still in bed at the moment and it’s 11am. I have had my shower🚿 though, and I think I’ll have the strength to get out n run a few errands later on.

Enjoy your day at the beach direstraits. There really is something comforting about the beach. I think we all need to get out in nature more. Being around nature is just so soothing and a major help when going through withdrawals. Water in particular I find soothing, whether it’s the beach, a creek, a river,  a lake etc. There’s something about the sound of water that is so magnificent too, whether it’s the crashing waves, the sound of rushing waters, the trickling of a stream or the rain. Just awesome!🏞🏝🌊💦

Tom, your comment made me laugh. Pavlova! Yummy! I was actually born in Germany.

Take care everyone 💚💚

Hi everyone,

Just read this about technology and I thought I’d share:

“ The modern technology that we have access to is nothing short of revolutionary, and can be both an incredible tool as well as a chronic stressor for our bodies. It isn’t the particular technology itself that is “good” or “bad, “ but the habits that we develop around how we use it. If you are someone who sleeps with your phone interrupting you with a series of notifications throughout the night, checks emails first thing in the morning when you wake up or before bed, and cannot go to a social event without pulling out your phone every five minutes, you may have some work to do in cultivating a healthier relationship with technology.

Screens found on televisions, computers and devices such as tablets and smartphones all emit blue-spectrum light that is disruptive to your circadian rhythm. Exposure to this spectrum of light after dark can be a stressor to your body, as it disrupts your natural hormonal balance and interferes with sleep. This isn’t the only way technology is a stressor - being connected to your work and social life 24/7 can be incredibly depleting. Our brains need time off from the constant barrage of to-do lists, emails, messages, updates and notifications.”

Here’s to being more balanced when it comes to technology, especially when going through withdrawals as our nervous systems are already hyped up. 💚

Hi DMV,

Thanks for dropping around. How are you doing today? I’m stuck in bed, but I’m quite chipper. Speaking of technology, I think it’s time to put my iPad down now. I’ve spent the morning on SA.

Yes, technology can ramp up our symptoms. I’ve stopped interacting with friends on social media as I didn’t think it was good for my nervous system. I love photography but I can email them photos when I want to anyway.

The one one thing I really want to stop doing is reaching for my iPad as soon as I wake up. I will get there!😂

Take care💚

Okay, I’ve got the giggles now. I think if we don’t laugh we would cry. Why am I giggling? Maybe I’m going crazy because of the torture we are going through??? Seriously, I’m quite sane. I just wish all you beautiful people weren’t going through this.

I’ve spent the morning on SA and it just heartbreaking what everyone is going through. I really wish I could take all your pain away. It is so upsetting to see everyone going through such pain, avoidable pain if the doctors stuck to their “do no harm” oath. They still think they’ve done us no harm, and are doing us no harm. 🙄

I don’t have any anger towards anyone, as it doesn’t serve a purpose. I’m quite contented within myself and I’m just focusing on what I can do to keep moving forward.

All I want to say is hang in there everyone, we will all be success stories one day💚💚💚

I’m going to be off this site for a little while now. I just found out this evening that my dad died. He wasn’t a nice person, and treated us kids badly. I need time to process my feelings and give myself a bit of self care. Am bawling at the moment.

Take care everyone 💚💚💚

Carmie, the passing of a parent in a family with dysfunction can bring up a lot of mixed feelings for sure. When my mom died, I was not only dealing with her actual death, but the dying of a story.  From a very early age, I thought that she might one day be the "healthy" mom I really wanted her to be. When she died, I knew that story was over. This isn't an easy time, but if you're "bawling" that means there is emotional movement . . . a sign perhaps that you have begun the incredibly important grieving process. Lots of difficult emotions may come up. It's good for me to hear you are focusing on self-care. Go gently with yourself 🙏❤️

Just popping in briefly to document that I went back to my original tablet last night, so far all good. I did the third phase of the crossover for ten days. I did each phase for more than a week, I just wanted to be safe. Only have to do one water titration every night now. Woohoo!!🎉🎉

I haven’t had any problems with the crossover at all, but I still won’t taper straight away, I’ll give it a bit more time.

Just had a weighted blanket delivered, tried it, love it! I got it off eBay for around $100 Australian.

I tried some magnesium the other day, but that didn’t like me so much. Will keep experimenting with that though.

@neroli Thanks for your kinds thoughts.💚

Hope everyone is coping as best they can, sending lots of hugs🤗🤗🤗
