Hope everyone is coping as best they can today. My brain fog is severe and I can’t read much. I’m occupying myself in other ways. Deciding what to do next at the moment. Decisions! Decisions! I finished the diamond painting of the two cute owls today, and my niece rang and we chatted for a while. She’s getting married next month at Byron Bay. I love Byron Bay! It’s such a chill place, goes perfect with my chill personality.😁

Just documenting that today is day 27 since being back on my original tablet. I might start tapering again Sunday night. Time for some forward movement again.

Take care💚💚

Thanks for your lovely messages guys,

Still struggling to think through my thick molasses brain, can barely read a thing. I just walked up to the shops to get some food,  and I bumped into friends which was a delight. Going to catch up with friends tonight as well, so I’m looking forward to that too. I’ll spend the rest of the time in bed until then.🛏 I’m making some bookmarks for friends which doesn’t take much brain power, it’s just doing the same things over and over again. Started watching Middlemarch on DVD too, but I kept losing concentration.

Got myself some grapes, first grapes this year🍇🍇. Yummy! Okay, time to eat my grapes!😋

Take care💚

Thanks ds,

I can barely focus on anything this morning. My brain doesn’t want to work (CFS), and I’ve been barely able to move so far. My body feels so heavy, like I’m carrying a ton of bricks. Will just be lying in bed until I have a little strength again. When I can concentrate a little again I’m going to watch Charles Dicken’s Bleak House. Yesterday I finished watching Middlemarch, and then I watched Persuasion. Period dramas are cool! 😎

I might just listen to some music now🎼🎹🎸🎷🎺🥁

I had a lovely time with friends the other day, thanks. Hopefully I’ll be well enough to get to my concert tomorrow night.

Hope youre coping okay💚

Hi Carmie! Just noticed this in the "Activity" thread. Funny that you just watched Middlemarch. I'm currently reading the book. I'm about half way through. I just got past Mr. Featherstone's death and his surprising Will. I'm now at the point where seemingly innocent and ladylike Dorothea is now entertaining the overtures of Ladislaw, after just marrying Mr. Casaubon. The book is a bit slow, and wordy at times, but it seems to contain a lot of insights about human nature and relationships in particular.

My favourite has always been Tolstoy's "War and Peace." One of the only books that really moved me emotionally! :)

Happy watching!! 🎦

Hi Gridley and SkyStreamer,

Thanks for your messages. That’s great that you’re enjoying your period drama novels. Yes, I love all the insights into human nature that these dramas bring. It’s such a great distraction. Class distinction really plays a big roll in these novels. I also can see extremely clearly the narcissists and how they abuse the people around them. I’ve done a lot of research on narcissistic abuse, and I can see all the tactics being used, the gaslighting, the projection etc etc.

Have fun with your continued reading📖📖📖💚

Going to drop by 0.25mg tonight, which is just over 3%. Finally some forward movement. Yay!

My brain is in outer space this morning again, can barely read anything. Had a nice night last night at the Belinda Carlisle and 1927 concert. 🎼🎤💃. It was in a beautiful old Art Deco building, I kept waiting for Poirot to turn up.🤣🤣

Belinda Carlisle singing “Leave The Light On” brought so much whistling at the end it nearly deafened me.🤓 She’s brilliant, I’ve never seen her before. This was the third time I’ve seen 1927. Was so cool when everyone was singing “I’d I could” on the top of their voices. Music is the best!!🎤🎼🎸🎻🎹🥁🎷🎺

Hope everyone is coping okay💚

Happy you enjoyed the concert.

It is so amazing to me that you can attend concerts.   I would be a basket case with sensory sensitivity.   Noise, crowds, lights, smells, bumping and touching.   I would be in bed for days afterwards.   Guess that's why I pretty much stay in a comfort zone these days.

I am also amazed you can go to concerts but I'm happy for you, Carmie. 😍

Currently taking Ramapril (blood pressure) 5 mg twice a day

Omeprazole 10 mg AM and 20 mg PM  (the taper has gone nowhere after the first cut)

Famotidine   once a day (and I still needs tums sometimes)

magnesium 200 mg at night

as of yesterday 2 fish oil capsules "EPA-DHA 1000"

off Lexapro as of 5/2018  - last dose had been 5 mg every other day for a couple years

highest dose had been 20 mg at which point I was diagnosed with Bipolar II, which went away when I cut the lexapro down to 15 mg.

I spent years on Paxil before Lexapro (can't remember dose), briefly on Effexor and Abilify and others I have forgotten. in fact, when I was diagnoses with BPII I was put on all kinds of things which made me feel so bad I stopped them cold turkey within maybe 3 or 4 weeks, thank goodness. since then I've known these pills were terrible and I weaned down the Lexapro with zero help or support over I'm not sure how many years.

Hi guys,

Thanks so much to all of you for dropping by. No, I have no problems with crowds, loud music and concerts.🥁🎹🎤💃🎼

I actually look forward to them. It makes me happy knowing I have a concert to look forward too. I’ve got two others booked already, Billy Ocean and Belinda Davids. Belinda Davids is a singer from South Africa, she does a Whitney Houston tribute show and is AMAZING! I’ve seen her before down the Gold Coast, and she was standing ovation material!

My only problem with concerts is if they are stand up ones I can’t stand for too long as I’m always feeling faint. Most concerts are seated ones. We got general admission standing ones for this last concert, but I found a comfy lounge. I got up every now and then for a dance, and then sat down again. How can you not dance to Heaven Is A Place On Earth and Leave The Light On??

I’ve got Belinda Carlisle cranked up at the moment. Go girl!!

I dropped by 0.25mg last night. No extra withdrawals as yet. It’s always different, but a lot of the time when I tapered I would feel the symptoms ramp up around day five or so. I’ve only tapered by just over 3% so we’ll see how I go.

Thanks again for dropping by💚💚💚

Hi Marie,

Thanks for dropping over to my thread. Yes, I’m certainly glad I’m no longer on 300mg of Seroquel. The side effects were horrific on such a large dose. I woke up every morning shaking and in absolute terror. The internal shaking woke me up.

I’ve had bad withdrawals with most of my tapering, but I didn’t know much about tapering until last year. I’ve been tapering for many years. By some miracle I managed to get myself down from 300mg to 7.5mg. My body is so sensitised from the millions of meds my doctors put me on and off, and I can feel the slightest changes.

Yes, so far dropping down to 7.25mg is going okay. No extra symptoms, though sometimes they don’t catch up with me until about five days or so after. It’s a 3% drop. It’s going to take me many more years to get off these meds as I can only taper by small amounts and I won’t be jumping off until I’m down to 0.0something or lower, like you.

Looks like im stuck in bed for the day again today, I have CFS. I have lots of distractions though, even when I’m not well. I’m watching period dramas at the moment, and I’ve started reading Middlemarch, I just finished watching the series. I can’t always read though as my brain fog can get really severe. I’ve got some crafts I’m doing too. I’m always doing arts and crafts, I love being creative. I love music too, might be cranking up some of that too.

I love how you wrote in your signature after you came off your meds: “Walked off. Done.” It made me smile. I’m very happy for you.

Thanks again for popping by, I hope you have a happy day💚

Thanks for your kind words Gracee,

Yes, so far, so good with the last drop. It is great that we get terrific concerts where I live. Most of the big acts come here too, I’ve seen Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, Phil Collins, Rob Thomas, Twenty One Pilots etc etc etc. I can’t even remember all the concerts I’ve been too, I’ve been to so many. I think we all have to do things we love, especially when going through withdrawals. Having concerts to look forward too always makes me happy.

I hope you have a happy day too💚

Hi eymen,

Thanks for your kind words, but I’m not always positive. I’ve shed lots of tears😢 in this journey, like everyone else. I like to be proactive though, and I keep doing things that help me to keep going. No matter how awful I feel I always find things to distract myself with. My latest cut is still going well so far. Yay! Hope you’re having a good day💚

Hi Rabe,

Thank you for popping by. Yes, music is certainly great medicine! 🎼🥁🎸🎹 I’m still trying to get out of bed this morning as I need to run some errands. I don’t have much strength, and my brain is in lala land. I did have a lovely time yesterday with friends. A couple of my friends, whom I haven’t seen in ages, took me out for morning tea. It was so nice catching up, a real boost to the spirits. I caught up with friends in the evening too, so all in all, had a lovely encouraging day.

Sending hugs to you🤗

Thanks for your lovely message Gracee,

I can see that you’ve also been encouraging others despite being an introvert and preferring to spend time with cats🐈🐈🐈😁.

I don’t take magnesium or fish oil. I tried taking magnesium once, but it ramped up my symptoms. Maybe another type might work better, I’m not sure, but for now I’m not going to be doing any experimenting with magnesium. As regards fish oil, I might give that a go one day. My body is extremely sensitised, I’ve been put on and off so many meds that my body doesn’t tolerate a lot of things now.

Take care💚

Just documenting: tonight is night six of my last taper. It hasn’t been going too bad, the internal agitation ramped up a bit yesterday. Nothing too major. I’m stuck in bed, but that’s mainly my illness. I have internal vibrations and agitation at the moment, but again, it’s bearable. I had insomnia last night, but I’m not sure if that’s withdrawals or from some of the other stresses I’m going through, I’ve had a lot of sleeping problems this week, it’s probably partly withdrawals and partly stress.

I’m so happy I’m finally moving forward again, I haven’t tapered since I joined SA, as when I first got here I was in a wave. Then later on I changed to compounding capsules without a crossover ( I knew nothing about crossovers and went into a three month wave ). When Brassmonkey said it’s better to use the original tablet I went back on it, but did a crossover this time which went well.

So now I’m finally moving forward again. Yay! I felt like I’ve been going backwards for ages. Now it’s onwards and upwards.

Hang in there everyone, we can do this!💚

Hello Carmie

Thank you for your support.

So good that you are able to resume tapering - you've been so patient and gone through a lot to get to this.

Here're tons of best wishes for you

xxxx Neroli 💜

Thanks guys,

Yes it’s wonderful to actually have some forward movement again. Yay! I slept better last night, though I woke up once with nerve pain in my arms, it didn’t last long though. Symptoms have ramped up a little, but they are bearable. I’m pretty brain dead today though and can’t read much, I’m in bed again watching DVDs. I watched Hidden Figures last night. It was brilliant! 👍🍿 I’ve wanted to watch it for ages, and finally got around to getting the DVD.

I know you are both struggling a lot, I hope that you’re coping as best you can, sending hugs🤗

Just documenting: Tonight will be night 8 of the taper from 7.50mg to 7.25mg. I had trouble sleeping last night, I fell asleep after 1am. I don’t have much brain power and am stuck in bed, nothing new there. I’m watching a movie, but I keep having to stop it as my brain keeps going into lala land.  My bed really does love me, it has me captive so much.🛏😃 My symptoms are still ramped up, but bearable. I looooove my weighted blanket!!😍 I might close my eyes for a little while, and put on some music.

Hi India,

Thanks for popping around. I love Poldark too, I’ve got it on DVD. I hope you’re coping as best you can, I know you’re struggling a lot, and I’m really sorry. Do you have any other favourite period dramas? I really love them so much. I’m actually watching the latest Murder On The Orient Express at the moment. It’s not as good as the original, but it’s still entertaining. My brain won’t let me continue watching it at the moment, so I’m going to close my eyes and rest for a while.

Sending hugs your way🤗

Hi Carmie, Thank you for always encouraging me. Sorry I am not so able to return favour. Things are tough but i’m Working hard on the techniques and advice being offered. Poldark is great, so evocative and dreamy.

I’ve been gravitating to nature/travel  programs on the bbc/itv. Joanna Lumley’s “Silk Road”. There is currently a 40s period drama called “Traitors”. I tried The Medici  on Netflix but couldn’t stick with it . My mum loves an Austen. I like the more gothic ones,  I recall “Bleak House” , “Wuthering Heights”. “Desperate Romantics”. So many I can’t quite recall! Oh yes, “Tess of D’Ubervilles” with Gemma Arterton. “Far from the Madding Crowd”. “Death and the Nightingale” with Jamie Dornan. I guess it’s good to try to recall..my memory so shot. Then there was “The GoBetween”. Haven’t seen MOTOrient.

AMAZING news and such strength. Your psych drug free life awaits .

Hi @India

Thanks for dropping by. Yes, it’s great that I’m finally moving forward with my tapering. I’ve still got many years to go, but I will get there. Slow and steady does it. I certainly can’t wait until I’m med free, but in the meantime I’m just using distractions to keep going. I have millions of them! 😄

I’ve seen Far From The Madding Crowd. I must get the DVD. I’m stocking up on period drama DVDs. Watching Larkrise To Candleford at the moment. I’m waiting for Wives And Daughter and The Paradise still to arrive. I haven’t watched Bleak House or Little Dorrit as yet, since I’m only onto season two of Larkrise To Candleford. I’ve seen them all before, as I got them from the library or saw them on Netflix. I’m in collectors mode at the moment.🎞🎞🎞 😁 I’ve got so much to watch, I’m well equipped for distraction.

I slept a bit better last night, but I kept waking up. I didn’t look at any screens after 9pm or so. I tried to read a book, but my brain didn’t let me read much, so I ended up colouring in instead. There’s always something one can do no matter how we’re feeling. I was barely functional for a lot of yesterday ( I have CFS as well ) so I just lay in bed and put the headphones on and listened to music. I try not to crank it up too loud as I know headphones can cause tinnitus. I don’t use them that often.

Thanks again for popping by, I know that you really struggling, so I want to send you a hug ((( India ))) 💚
