Thanks for popping around @Rosetta @ShiningLight @JackieDecides

Hope you’re all coping as best you can. I’m still in a wave, and brain fog is still bad. My brain doesn’t seem to want to leave outer space. I won’t have to go the NASA exhibition now, as my brain is already there.🤣🤣🤣

Take care💚

Hi @Dejavu,

How are you doing? I’m just taking a day at a time. I’ve spent lots of time in bed, but that’s more due to my illness than anything. I have been able to get out a bit the last couple of days, which has been nice. I’m in bed at the moment, but I got out this morning to run some errands.

@manymoretodays I haven’t got any concerts lined up at the moment, but I’m sure there will be many more in the future, I can’t count the amount of concerts I’ve been  to. A friend of mine wants to see the Backstreet Boys next year. If she decides to go I’m in. That should be fun: “ Everybody, yeah, yeah, rock your body, yeah, yeah. “🤣🤣🤣🤣

Okay, here goes my gratitude list again:

1. I’m going to an engagement party this Sunday. Looking forward to that, I love having a little dance, though I have to sit down a lot. 💃💃💃💃

2. I’m going to see the Downton Abbey movie tomorrow night with friends. 🍿

3. Was just eating yummy seaweed sheets. I love seaweed.🌊

4. Caught up with friends last night, was very encouraging. Love my hugs🤗🤗🤗

5. Been invited to a high tea by a lovely friend, she’s in her teens but she’s inviting everyone 55 years and over, I just scrape in. Almost 55. 🧁 It’s next month.

6. Photography, love taking photos, it makes me so happy.📸📸📸📸📸

7. Caught up with a gorgeous friend on Tuesday. We just chilled and chatted. 💚

8. Have been invited to a kitchen tea next month by the same friend whose engagement party I’m going to this week. 💕

9. Next week I’m going out for the day with friends, we are checking out new cafes.🥗

10. I’m also invited to a park with friends, I love nature. There’s nothing better than being out in nature with good friends.🌳🌳🌳

I think it’s soooooooooooo important to have things to look forward. I don’t always make it to everything because of my health, but just the thought of happy things to go to brings a glow to my heart. It’s one of the most important things that has kept me going.

Today is day 24 since my drop from 6.50 to 6.25. Just going through the regular windows and waves.

Sending hugs to everyone 🤗🤗🤗💕🤗

Hi one and all,

Just wanted to say that I think it’s really, really, really, really important to have fun things to look forward to. I have lots of things in my calendar, I’ve been invited to all sorts of things and I love doing things on my own too.

It doesn’t matter if I’m in the middle of a most ferocious wave or if I’m feeling so anhedonic that I can’t find joy in anything, I still have things in my calendar to look forward to. When my friends invite me to things I tell them I’d love to come if I’m well enough. I don’t make it to everything, but that doesn’t stop them inviting me to other events.

I love hopping on buses and going to explores different places and events on my own too. I love my alone time as well. I’m always looking for fun things that are on in my city.

Tonight I’m off to the movies with friends, eight of us are going to see Downton Abbey. On Sunday I’m going to an engagement party. Let’s hope I’m well enough to go. I’ve already got two fun things organised with friends next week.

Please have things to look forward to, it does help. Even if you’re too sick to go it does bring a little joy to the heart.💚

Just documenting: Today is day 26 since my last drop. I’m going through windows and waves. I’m happy I’m getting windows again. When whole days are waves, it’s not much fun. The waves affect my CFS as well, and I end up having to spend even more time in bed. I’m pretty good at finding distractions to keep me going during waves. When brain fog is severe I have to find things that don’t take too much brain power.

Went to the movies last night with friends, which was lovely. I was feeling pretty weak and faint ( I’m like that most of the time),  but they had comfy chairs I could lie down on. Let’s see how many other events in my calendar I’m able to go to. I really love having things to look forward to, even if I’m too sick to make it.

I really miss my crocheting. I used to do it non stop for years to help me with withdrawals, but I had to stop because I got repetitive strain injury. I’ve got a lot of diamond paintings to do at home at the moment, I made sure I didn’t run out again. I haven’t been in the mood to do them this week, though I love doing them. I’ve been watching lots of YouTube, it’s great as there are subjects on pretty much anything.

I started a John Grisham novel, but my brain fog has been bad and I haven’t been able to finish it as yet. I had a couple of books from the library too, but I couldn’t read them due to brain fog either, so I took them back. Maybe my brain will let me finish my novel next week. Here’s hoping. I find the one thing that really calms my brain down is reading novels, watching movies doesn’t do the same thing.

Hope everyone is hanging in there as best you can💚

Hey Carmie, that's great to hear windows are starting to come through again!  And brave of you to persist with the cuts, I'd like to think all of the discomfort now gets paid back as comfort at some later time 🙂

Brain fog sucks.  I've been starting to read again a bit lately, it really is amazing how effectively it can take you to other worlds.  I'm in a bit of a non-fiction streak at the moment - Chomsky, Deleuze, and I want to read The Body Keeps The Score by Bessel van der Kolk as well, about how the body handles trauma.  My tsundoku pile makes me dream of being on a desert island for a year with just my bookshelf - I love the internet but it does take up a lot of the time I used to just read by default.  Maybe some fiction after that 🙂

Hi ShiningLight,

How did you know I love stickers? 🤣🤣 I love stationery and I’ve got heaps of stickers. I’m a creative person by nature. No, I’m not in my twenties, I’m in my fifties but I have the heart of a twenty year old, love concerts and adventures. I think it’s due to my personality type. I’m an enfp in the Myers Briggs personality test. I’m an extrovert that needs variety, new ideas and activities. I’d think I’d die if I did the same things over and over again. I’m the extroverted type though that needs a lot of alone time too, I’m happy to go on adventures on my own too. I don’t need people around me all the time, but I love doing things with friends and I get invited to lots of things.

I actually need to have adventures and novelty to function to the best of my ability. I don’t like the mundane, I love spontaneity. I love creativity. If one of my friends asks me to do something I’ve never done before I’m in!😃 The only thing that holds me back from doing some things is my illness, I’m really sick with CFS and don’t have much strength so I can’t do sports or anything strenuous like that. I love going for little walks though when I have the strength.

I hope you get to spend some time with horses, as I know you love them. I’ve never ridden, but some of my nieces have horses. I wouldn’t mind having a go but I got hit by a car once and spent three months in hospital. I broke and fractured all sorts of bones, including my pelvis, so I doubt horse riding would be good for me, but you never know. 🐴

Sending hugs🤗

Hi Hayduke,

Yes, windows are wonderful, aren’t they? I’ve had a window for most of the day today. I won’t be tapering again for at least two weeks or so. I seem to do okay at the moment tapering every six weeks or so. I still go through lots of waves, but I’m always happy when there is any sort of forward movement. On the days I have waves I know that they will eventually go again, and then it’s off to the next taper, and so it goes.😁

The brain fog I get isn’t from the withdrawals, I’ve had it for 25 years, it’s part of chronic fatigue syndrome, which I’ve had for 25 years. I’m glad you’re enjoying reading. I love reading actual books made of paper when it comes to reading novels, I’m not so fussed about reading them on my iPad.

Take care💚

Dear all,

Special wishes to @Carmie for going through this wave and with a positive attitude, inspires us all. Friends are so important, the gratitude lists, and planning things to look forward to.  I find it's important to be around people (even if means going to the local coffee shop or grocery store with a cafe  - to sit, look at a book, bring your computer, etc. I am grateful I have this option and they are only a 10 minute ride away and sunny!  Brining more positivity into my life - reframing things (I am working on this) to look at the positive in them and not the negative.

A few other things I am grateful for:

1. My dog

2. A comfortable bed with a weighted blanket and eye mask (helps me sleep)

3. All of you and SA - and that we can grow together during our WD's

4. The good days I have and bright sunny weather

5. My family

6. Having some funny things to watch on TV: I am watching Monk now and listening to music

7. For my ability to keep at this - and that all of you are.

9. Knowing that someone else has it worse than I do

10. A few hobbies I enjoy - knitting (afghan is still not done), indexing journals (volunteering)

Plans:

1. A few errands today -getting out and about

2. Going apple picking tomorrow and maybe making starting some friendships

3. Planning concerts to attend and buying tickets

4. Going to church with 2 friends tonight. I am exploring my spirituality

5. Seeing my brother and his girl friend today

6. Think of some more social activities....

7. Doing some cleaning. I wish I had help with the paper work....

@Carmie hang in there. A bright window is around the corner and look at your success for having dropped your dose.

Hug to you,

Guilietta

Hi @Guilietta @ShiningLight

Thanks so much for dropping by, will chat soon. My brain fog is so thick at the moment that I can barely think. I’m in good spirits though, last night I went to an engagement party for a friend and her future husband. I caught up with a few old friends there

too. It was a lovely upbuilding atmosphere with lots of beautiful people.

I managed to dance to a little bit of the nutbush and the Macarena before I had to sit down again. Even if I get a minute of dancing in here and there I’m happy. CFS has been pretty bad lately, but again, I’m coping okay. At home I’ve been cranking up the music and “ singing.” I couldn’t sing if my life depended on it🤣🤣🤣, but that doesn’t stop me.

I’ve pretty much been in bed all day today, but I think I’ll have the strength to go to a cafe tomorrow with two dear friends, the kind of friends you can have real heart to hearts with and just chill.

Hope you’re coping okay💚

Hi there!

@ShiningLight  too funny - I'm in INTP! (I'm on the F/T line - and very often an F!) and also on the P/J line. I'd like to be more J - I'd get more done! And meet deadlines! :)

@Carmie

What a great weekend - you pulled yourself out to what sounds like a very nice party and also do the Macarena! I love that - I can't dance worth a hoot - but enjoy watching others and the music. You know the expression - 'dance like no body's watching!. That's me.

Sorry you aren't feeling so hot and are resting. Nice to look forward to meeting friends at a cafe. I'm green with envy. How lovely.

My apple picking fell by the wayside, which was OK. I ran some errands in afternoon, ran into some familiar faces, and saw family. Helped with the dinner - so I felt good about being able to do that. However - this means I did not get to sit down, have positive thoughts, and practice 'being' . I slept poorly - about 4 hours. I keep my ipod in bed so I can listen to soothing music when I wake up. :)

Hi Carmie

How are you doing today?

I just looked over some of your prevoius posts and see that you crochet.  I marvel at people who crochet because they have to use one hand (it appears) to make the fabric. I knit off and on and it can be relaxing. My afghan is stalled. I think I may have mentioned that.

Today I learned that lamotrigine ER will be a tier 4 drug in 2020!!! Tier 4 is unaffordable and I have another  unwanted medical thing to deal with.  😣

Do you watch DVDs or TV? Do they have Amazon Prime in Australia?

Hi @Guilietta @ShiningLight

You’re so kind to think of me, but I can’t read to save my life at the moment. Brain fog is so severe.

Managed to have a lovely day with friends on Tuesday. We went exploring cute laneways with cafes and had the most amazing Korean food.

I’ve been in bed a lot this week due to my illness, but I’m still in fairly good spirits. I’m in a windows and waves situation still, but the windows are fairly big. Yay!

Sending hugs to you both 🤗🤗

Hi @ShiningLight@Carmie

How wonderful you got out to have a delightful day with friends to explore and get some delicious food! Did you get to capture any of the sights on film? And glad you have having bigger windows. That is indeed something to rejoice about. :) I imagine you out strolling in the sun.

Ack - I did not get the button sewn on. However - I did get as far as looking for matching thread, which I didn't have - so I don't know whether to call this poor planning or a justiable excuse. 😂 As it was 7 p.m. by the time I decided to do this - it was too late for me to head to the fabric store. Today I hope to do that.

Unfortunately I got only 4.5 hours of sleep last night and have tinnitus this morning. Bummer.

Hugs to you both,

I'm glad to hear you are in good spirits despite everything! 🤗

Currently taking Ramapril (blood pressure) 5 mg twice a day

Omeprazole 10 mg AM and 20 mg PM  (the taper has gone nowhere after the first cut)

Famotidine   once a day (and I still needs tums sometimes)

magnesium 200 mg at night

as of yesterday 2 fish oil capsules "EPA-DHA 1000"

off Lexapro as of 5/2018  - last dose had been 5 mg every other day for a couple years

highest dose had been 20 mg at which point I was diagnosed with Bipolar II, which went away when I cut the lexapro down to 15 mg.

I spent years on Paxil before Lexapro (can't remember dose), briefly on Effexor and Abilify and others I have forgotten. in fact, when I was diagnoses with BPII I was put on all kinds of things which made me feel so bad I stopped them cold turkey within maybe 3 or 4 weeks, thank goodness. since then I've known these pills were terrible and I weaned down the Lexapro with zero help or support over I'm not sure how many years.

Thank you so much for thinking of me. I will back on this site in the future. I’m still going through major stresses, which has now turned into a crisis and I have to figure out all sorts of things. I’m barely functional because of my illness, but I have friends that are helping me too.

Just taking a day at a time, life is really tough at the moment, but I still have my deep down positivity. Been crying a lot though.

Side note: yesterday was six weeks since my last taper.

Just documenting: Added another 5ml of water to my mixture so now each ml equals 1mg. I’m adding 25ml to a 25mg tablet.

There are five notches on each ml of my 5ml syringe so for my next tapers I’ll be going down by 0.20 mg instead of 0.25mg (each ml used to be 1.25mg). I’m going to stick to the 5ml syringes for now because when I compared the 1ml syringes of the same brand to the 5ml syringes there were discrepancies. I might just continue working with the 5ml syringe throughout my taper and just keep adding more water as the numbers go down.

Yesterday night I took 6.20mg so I went down by 0.5mg. This is about a quarter of what I wanted to go down, but because of being under great stress at the moment I’ll stay at that for a few weeks and then decide what to do. Also with the 5ml syringe and each notch being 0.20mg the only thing I could do when I added the extra water was go down by either 0.5mg or 0.25mg. I can’t cope with dropping by 0.25mg at the moment.

I’ll decide how long I’ll stay on 6.20mg, because if I drop by another notch in a few weeks that will be 0.25mg again this drop with the 0.5mg I just made.

The drops after that will 0.20mg for a while.
