Loreli:Trintellix

Hi, I found this site after watching the you tube video. I have been very concerned about the foggy headed feeling I always have. I also can't remember things unless I write them down. I also have blunted emotions and low libido. And even though I'm taking Trintellix I still feel depressed. It does control my anxiety and my running mind. I call it ruminating.  I would really like to be off this medicine but after exploring this site I realize it's not going to be easy. I'm debating on when to start my taper because I have a couple of big events coming up. I have a family wedding in May and a big family reunion in June. I don't want to be sick for them. Maybe I wont feel bad until I get to the lower doses? Or should I wait to taper later in the summer?

Hi Loreli,

If you’ve got some big family events coming up I wouldn’t start the taper yet because withdrawals are so erratic and you may not make it to them.

When you do taper please go really slow and make big holds in between the tapers. There’s lot of advice on this site on tapering. I only came across this site recently but Ive been tapering for many, many years. I’m down to 7.5mg of Seroquel, where  my original dose was 300mg.

Lots of ups ups and downs but the two main things I would say is GO SLOW and HOLD, HOLD, HOLD.

Leave AT LEAST one  month between tapers, if not longer.

All the best to you

Thanks Carmie. I was concerned it may not be a good idea to start tapering before the events. I'm planning on going really slow because I cannot afford to be off of work if I get sick. I'm a single mom with 2 kids in college. I am very glad that I found this site to help me through when I'm ready.  I see a lot of people on here that have gone through hell because of tapering too fast because they simply didn't know what would happen.
