Melissa5000: nerve/muscle pain/burning after fast taper

Hi Carmie, thanks for your advice. I'm so sorry you have cfs! That must be a hard life for you.

Now I'm more or less the same. My body feels very tired and painful after some modest tasks.

Today I feel a little weak. I need to get some groceries again. The closest supermarket is 3 km cycling. So up and down I cycle 6 km. But I have a break when I walk in the supermarket.

I used to cycle 16-20 km a day. Now 6 km a day is hard to cycle. I feel I collapsed. I feel like 85+ now.

The grocery shopping went fine. Only my arms and hands hurt from steering my bicycle.

Tonight I cycled 15 minutes on the hometrainer at 15 km/h.

I watched lots of soccer.

Hi Melissa,

Im sorry you always have such pain. Wow, you’ve got a long way to cycle to get to the shops. Mine are a ten minute walk away, though some days I don’t have the strength to walk up during the day when I have no car.

I hope you’ve been finding things to help distract yourself from the pain. I’ve been editing photos of flowers I’ve taken as some friends and I are having a flower competition. Tomorrow is day three. I loooove flowers. It’s not really a competition, we’re just having fun. It has been bringing a smile to my face. So many amazing flowers. Major nature freak here. Nature is very soothing when you’re sick.

Glad the grocery shopping went fine, you sporty person you. Watching soccer sounds like a good distraction. I’m not a footy fan but Rugby League is really big here. Big game tonight, State Of Origin, between Queensland and New South Wales. I crochet blankets for some friends in their footy colours, that’s the extent of my football involvement.😄 Crocheting is one of my major distractions, it has got me through some hard times.

I don’t actually watch any sports. I’m not a tv watcher, I just watch DVDs and Netflix. Now they’ve been great distractions.

Take care💚

Last night I couln't sleep in despite of the melatonine I took. I just rested in my bed. Today I have everywhere extra musclepain.

I can't do much today I expect. I have to wait till this day will pass.

I didn't know you are trying melatonin, I've never used it but read lots of people on SA have. Sorry you are having extra pain today. You are coping sooo well with it all.

Thanks Sunnylou. I'm watchin soccer. I cooked a proper meal. That made me feel a little better. Everything still hurts. I hope I will sleep tonight. That would help a lot.

I slept very well. But I woke up with a painful right arm and hand as usual. I've been lawn mowing in 3 etappes with breaks and I've done some laundry.

I've done stretches for the muscles in my arms and hands. Maybe this helps a bit. I watch videos on You Tube for it.

Notes from yesterday :

Last night I slept well. But in despite of the good night I am so tired and have brainfog all day. My right arm and hand is painful as usual.

Tonight I cycled 20 minutes on the hometrainer at 20km/h.

Last night I slept very well. But I tensed my muscles of my neck and back in my sleep. Later this got better.

I feel better now that I slept 3 days in a row. My right hand and arm still hurt.

This afternoon I sat in my garden in the sunshine reading a book of Normain Doidge: The brain that changes itself. Very fascinating. It is about neuroplasticity in the brain and how people ovecame disseases, injuries or aging. Sleeping well 3 nights in a row is very helpfull. But my right hand and arm still hurt a lot. For the rest I have all over musclepain and nervepain. (as usual)

@Melissa5000 Just reading your post. I read that same book and found it a good read. It is helpful to have some understanding of the brain and what it is capable of. Pretty amazing.

Good luck in your healing journey. Wishing good things for you.

Tonight I watched soccer and I cycled 20 minutes on my hometrainer at 15km/h. (5 kilometer)

It went well but my hands and arms hurt from holding and leaning on the handlebar.

Today it is verry sunny over here. I slept 7 hours. That is one hour too short for me.

I went 6 km cycling for groceries. It all went fine. I still have a painful right arm and hand.

The weather is cheering me up.

I'm watching soccer. I'm resting a little now.

I slept 8 hours I think. But felt I could have slept a litlle longer.

I've been cleaning a little and doing laundry. I sat in my garden reading and after dinner I decided to try a baby walk. I walked very slowly. It was more shuffling than walking. Ik think I walked 600 meters this way. I feel a mild storm of nervepain through my body. Walking is still extremely heavy for me. I try to calm my cns down with deep breating and meditation. The skin of my belly and chest is a little burning from walking.

Last night I went to bed at 07.15. Of course my night wasn't perfect so now I am a little tired.

I read a post on SA of Lavendertealatte about doctor Schubiner. Then I went watching on You Tube. Very fascinating. And so I watched all night long..........

I found may video's from John Sarno, doctor Schubiner, and Steven Ray Ozanich about TMS. I think I have TMS. Now I have to find out to get rid of this! Understanding is easy, but overcoming TMS seems more complicated for me. But with lots of time and trying I might be able to at least reduce my pains and discomfort. Good to know. I found many books about the subject and many videos on You Tube. I'll have to spend some time watching, reading and learning.

I've been cleaning and take it easy as my pain is worse when I don't sleep well.

I've had a few happy sunny days with my boyfriend. We enjoyed the sun and watched lots of soccer.

Sunday was all right, not too much pain. Then I slept only 4 hours and laid awake in bed. I fell half asleep again and had some nightmares. Monday I felt more pain as a consequence. But I managed it.

Thanks SkyBlue!

Last night I slept 3 hours. Then I woke up. I laid in bed awake. Then I fell half asleep dreaming. No proper sleep unfortunatelly.

Now I am resting a bit. I had to walk around 1 km all together today to get to the hospital and back. The walking went ok today! I am so happy about that! No storm of nervepain.

In the hospital I had an appointment at the dermatologist. Since I quit the birthcontrol pil 7 months ago I have hairloss. She checkt my hair and examined the bloodwork by my gp. She said there was nothing wrong. It are just withdrawals from the birthcontrol pil. I have some acne as well from it. She gave me a creame for it. These withdrawals can last a year.

I am watching Nicole Sachs her videos on You Tube about TMS and dr Sarno's work. She encourages you to journal about all your deep dark socially unwanted emotions. She says that your uncoucious does everything to hide those emotions. It even produces chronic pain signals to suppress these emotions. By giving those emotions some room in your journal those emotions don't have to be suppressed by pain anymore. Now the physical pain should reduce or even disappear. I have allready a second note book for a journal of dark emotions! 😁I'm going to give this a try and who knows....... I have widespread pain and still some face ache without a medical reason for it. The widespread nervepain and muscle pain started in withdrawal. Maybe my pain is just psychosomatic, TMS.

I don't have much to lose except for some time and paper. And lots of chronic pain of course!!! 😊

I slept 7 hours. Then I mowed the lawn. That went all right.

Later I had garden manure interspersed. And I had the garden watered. It is al little hot here but nice sunny weather.

I did the laundry.  I managed to do my chores.

I have still a painful right hand and arm.

I wrote a page in my new diary of dark emotions. I hope this will help!

Last night I slept 7 or 8 hours. I woke up with sensitive arms.

I did the laudry. Not so much more. My arms are hurting all day and I feel the storm of nerverpain. I journal a lot.

I feel very bad. I have anxious thoughts and feel sad. That happens when I have a lot of pain. I cry a lot. Just don't feel happy.

I feel so limited by the pain. I wonder if I will ever be normal again. I feel so damaged by these pils.

Last night I watched so many clips on you tube about TMS. And about calming your nervous system that it was morning before I went to bed. I slept for 5 hours. Then laid in bed but couldn't sleep again. Now I am a little more achy all over because of the lack of sleep of course.

I'm watching soccer. And today I take it easy. I enjoy the beautiful weather. When I feel pain I pay attention to my emotions and every day I write in a journal about my dark emotions of the day or the moment or just whatever pops into my mind. I follow Nicole Sachs her advice. I don't say tms is the whole problem as we are in withdrawal as well. But it might just be a part of the puzzle.

I found a video about calming the vagus nerve. When this big nerve is out of balance all our withdrawal symptoms can show up! Remarkable!

How to Heal the "Vagus Nerve" to Heal Your Mind & Body

Nicole is a therapist that gives some advice about treating TMS on you tube. She also wrote a book about it.

Nicole Sachs Healing Yourself - PART ONE (about TMS)

Doctor John Sarno is the one who discovered TMS and has helpt many patients to recover. He wrote 3 books about it.

Dr John Sarno interviewed by Donna Hamilton (Part 1 of 2) (about TMS)

I had again a short night. I stayed longer in bed but couln't sleep anymore.

I did some housekeeping and laundry. Sat in my garden reading. And now I am watching the Tour the France and Formule 1 with Max Verstappen.

Today until now no nervepain. At least from 10.00 - 16.23 free from nervepain. Have sensitive fingers when I type.

Tonight I watered the garden and that went just fine. I wanted to go for a baby walk to watch over the field. I walked like 300 meters. Average walking speed. During the walk I was fine and I enjoyed it. After I came home the storm of nervepain showed up. Especially around my arms and also a bit around my legs. (Why around my arms!) Just wanted to try a small walk again. I had to take the risk. Now I suffer again. But I can't be sitting all the time. In despite of the trouble afterwards I just did it! That's worth someting too.

Last night I only slept 5 hours. I got up at 8.00. So I changed back to a day rithm again. I had a bad habit of watching all night at you tube............

Now my body feels more sensitive off course. But I needed to do that. It feels better when I get up more early. I did the laundry, I watch the tour de France and take it easy. Tonight I go to bed early.

The storm of nervepain I had yesterday from the small walk disappeared in the night in my sleep. Now I am a little tired because of the lack of sleep. My fingers hurt a little when I type. I just make it myself today as comfortable as possible to make it through the day and enjoy some tv, internet and reading.

Hi Melissa ,we are designed to sleep from sunset to sunrise so keep going for getting up earlier .[circadian rhythm ].

for a year my sleep was all over the place but the last 2 months I'm back to up early and I love it .don't nap for more than 20 minute's after 3 but what we have to deal with is a bit different that's for sure .

Thank you Powerback for stopping by on my thread!

I want to live in the daytime. I don't want a disturbed sleep pattern because I don't want to risk the chance that I would get extra symptoms from it.

Now I feel like if I had a jet-lag! :D

I slept 6 hours. Got up very early. Now I'm very tired because of the lack of sleep. Yesterday I forgot to take my pills halfway the day. So now I am a little more achy. I took 1/3 less as I take my pills 3 times a day.

Yesterday I ordered two books! Nicole Sachs her book : The meaning of truth.

And Steve Ozanich his book: The great pain deception.

Now I have to wait for 2 weeks before they arrive......... 😑

So to do someting on this TMS subject today I saw some video's of Steve Ozanich on You Tube. Inspiring. I write daily in my journal of dark emotions.

Today I watched the Tour de France. Now I'm watching soccer. 😊

Hi Melissa,

I’m sorry the gardening made your arm pain worse. I hope it subsides soon.

I see you have some good distractions there watching sports. I’m not much of a sports fan but it’s great to find things you love. There are certainly a lot of different sports to watch, you are not starved for choices. Rugby League is very big here.

Take care💚
